I need to make something so you guys can submit names 🙂

That would be very cool. But could I ask something? What exactly is the back story with the names? I’m not familiar with this bit of Windstone tradition.

🙂 I’m glad she went to a good home! It makes me happy that she went to a forum member rather than someone anonymous from eBay. Maybe that sounds a bit silly but it’s a personal sentiment.

I’m looking forward to seeing her sitting next to Pepe. I’m super curious about how they look together! Because seeing pics of them sitting separately is great but can’t always convey a united image in your head. 😀

LOL! Bodine asked me the same thing! I need to get pics of them together and post it for you two… they are like a Hot/Cold Mexican Celebration: Chili Pepper Fiesta and Dia de los Muertos Celebration… they both made me think of a Mexican dance/party theme (especially when you read about the meaning of Dia de los Muertos). 🙂

OK prezaurian – Here’s my photo of ‘La Catrina’ with Bodine’s ‘Pepe’ – my Mexican Fiesta/Celebration Pair! I have them sitting in front of a couple of special photos on my small table: my Silky Terrier, Sean, who passed in 2000, and my Dad, who passed in 2009. I also think of the pair like a Ying-Yang Celebration pair (Male-Female; Hot/Cool; Celebration of Life/Death): Pepe the ‘Hot’ Chili Pepper Fiesta Kitsune is the Celebration of the Living, whereas ‘Cool’ La Catrina is the Celebration of passed Loved Ones for Dia de los Muertos.
Maybe I’m way too into symbolism and ‘reading’ way too much into my ‘Mexican Celebration Pair’ but those are my thoughts and reasons for combining these two cute Kitsunes. 🙂

🙂 Aw, thank you so much for the pictures Ela! They’re great and I’m very into symbolism myself. I believe symbols give things a greater meaning and that’s important in my opinion. So if the piece I painted helps contribute to that it makes me even happier. Especially in this case. It’s important to remember loved ones who have passed on before but also important to celebrate life (both yours and the lives of those from before) as well! That way they’re never really gone.

My sympathies to all on the difficulties. I’ll keep you guys in my thoughts. Stay strong when you can and find support from loved ones when you can’t.

Pepe makes me hungry for Mexican food. Yummy! He looks great!

So curious about the possible mystery GB!!!!

Poop. I don’t think this piece will work as a gb after all. I just spent a frustrating afternoon working on these, only painted 4 of them, and they don’t even look that great. This piece is surprisingly difficult to paint.
                Thppp

Will we see them on Ebay soon, if not in a GB?

-scratches her chin- If I were to guess, I would guess the hippocampus. They look challenging to paint. But perhaps not. It sounds like its something that’s never been a grab bag before judging by the comments. 😀 Can you tell I like guessing?

I’m curious to see as well. Even if they don’t show up on eBay, perhaps the monthly raffle?

I dunno about anyone else, but I’m looking forward to the fireworks show when the Secret Keeper’s auction comes to a close. 😀 Should be fun! I’ll be sitting and watching while munching on home toasted pumpkin seeds!

Prezaurian, my husband -NEVER- has anything good to say about my work. I won’t even try to make him anything anymore, nor do I want him seeing my work when I’m making it. He makes me able to see nothing but its faults, and I don’t need help with that. I rarely even want to make anything anymore, I don’t want to listen to it.

I didn’t want him to come to my church’s pumpkin fair while I was working it. (I painted custom pumpkins) He did come one day, knocked the ones I made of the church and its sister congregation’s building, and hated the gourd I painted with a quickie picture of his dog just to have something showing I could do things besides buildings and cartoon spiders. I admit it was a quickie and not good, but…

He doesn’t have anything positive to say about the Loch Ness Monster I’m working on, although at least he hasn’t said much bad either. That’s why I posted it here, to get the opinion of others who might not be so negative.

Oh my gosh, that is so brutal! Y’know I understand when someone gives you constructive criticism on something. It can help you improve. But it really hurts when someone you care about says negative things about something you poured some of yourself into! I’m so sorry that you have to go through that. I know it’s probably very naive of me to say, but have you told him how his negative comments make you feel? Because that’s not particularly supportive.

But on your Loch Ness, ‘I’ like it. I think he’s very cute and I hope you continue to feel motivated to work on him regardless of what your husband says. The kid in me wants to say, ‘Haters gonna hate.’ But I don’t want to jump to any conclusions because I don’t know anything about your relationship with your husband. I just hope he doesn’t squelch all of your desire to create because that would be a crying shame.

-claps- That’s so awesome for you! I hope you get lots of easy years out of your new baby! Good luck on learning manual. I don’t like it myself, but I CAN’T deny the usefulness of knowing how to drive manual. It will be SO USEFUL to you in years to come!

I love how you picked out the dragon’s scales in different shades of blue. It really makes them “pop” visually.

Yes, this was what I really liked about this dragon too! It’s a really nice pattern choice! The foop and dragon turned out very nicely! Glad to see pictures of them. It’s been awhile!

🙂 My cats don’t listen either. They just nap and take advantage of my body heat when it gets cold! Ah well. When you get that punching bag be sure to keep your hands safe when you use it!

Whew! I finally finished mine, photographed and boxed it up! Can’t even tell there was ‘paint-a-pult’ accident anymore! 😀 I’m really looking forward to shipping and the reveals! I’m super excited to see what my swap partner will think. I hope they like it! 😀

This will be my last swap for a little while so I’m glad it’ll be on this note. I have some other projects I want to get back to. Not the least of which are some blank PYOs that have been awaiting paint jobs for quite some time! Also a small repair & paint touch up to a Flion one of my friends was awesome enough to get for me off of eBay a little while ago. Some illustrations I want to work on and a diorama + paint for a Reaper dragon miniature I’ve been working on. Gonna be busy for awhile…but I still have time for a commission or two if anyone is interested! lol 😉 Hope everyone’s having fun!
