I just saw a ruby papa, mama, fledge, hatcher and young at a store, all for reasonable prices (I think). Maybe I should get them for eBay for that, I’m trying to scrounge up some $. 😯
I’ve always heard ‘alicorn’ also, to be back on track.
It makes me think of a T-shirt I just saw at Kmart, though. It had a winged unicorn on it, though the legend just said “Never Play Leapfrog With A Unicorn”.
It showed the sad result of such a game, too funny.Wow, guess I don’t have that much after all!
I have, besides the Windstones-Books (sci fi, fantasy, mystery, natural science/medical mostly-oh, and cookbooks)
Some model horses, mostly Arabians- also a few small Arab sculpts
Australian Shepherd things
My old Star Wars toys that survived my grandmother 🙄
Orchid plants
Some shells and rocks
Some dragons besides Windstones (not many, love dragons but don’t like most I see lol)
My daughter’s My Little Ponies
My fiance’s bald eagles
And whatever assorted and sundry caught my eyeThanks for the TV lamps, Wolfen! I have one (a Siamese kitten) that was my babyhood nightlight still, just thought it was a nightlight and nothing special.
And I don’t know whether I should thank you, Griffiness, or not for showing me Andrew Bill and Enchantica dragons! I don’t like all of them (don’t like a human element in things or 4 limbed instead of 6 limbed dragons), but I do see ones I like! What with the dollar being so weak, though… 🙄
It also showed me what the dragon I liked (but not the price $210 ouch!) in a local store was- Andrew Bill’s ‘Gaia’.
Hmm though, if I get the 2nd job I’m after, I’m almost where I want to be in Windstones except for PYOs to paint and (forlorn hope) if they decide to get more old green paint…I live only an hour from Cape Canaveral, and my fiance and I decided to take the inflatable kayak he got for his birthday a week ago out into the Indian River (it’s the Intercoastal) to an island to watch it go up. First it was fun getting out to the island; about 1/2 mile with dolphins jumping around us! Then, this was our view:
This is about as close as the public can get. I just though folk might enjoy the pics, sorry my camera isn’t the greatest and doesn’t have a good zoom. Then, the contrail from the launch made some REALLY cool cloud formations!
See the dragon?
And a heart, how romantic. My original male and female match the older one more in paint, though they have felt pads. I also much prefer the older, more natural looking to me paint job.
If you don’t get Ski’s, I saw one in a store recently. Didn’t look at it too closely, but don’t remember noticing any damage- and it was behind glass.
Wow! Thanks for the lovely comments! 😀
I’m glad you like her, and she looks so much better in your home!I sold my 1st and only PYO, only got $30 for it too. But I needed the money, and though I lost money on it, it was a learning experience, better luck next time. Besides, though i can’t copy it, I can make a similar one later- and if my work gets out there however cheap and people like it once they see it, maybe my luck will improve- sort of expensive advertising!
Oh man, that’s such a shame! *covers eyes, dragon is so sad and looks like he’s looking at me!* 🙁
And unfortunately, it’s been my personal experience that the post office will refuse to pay most claims, saying that they will not cover when it’s improperly packaged. They say that of things that should survive a car crash but come in smashed boxes, they say that of stolen in shipping (label found at postal distribution center) never arrived items, and they are bound to when it really wasn’t properly packaged. You probably won’t get a penny back if it’s up to the post office, and the emperor will be gone to the landfill since they demand the item. You may not even get notice of such until after eBay’s 3 months are up, since apparently a single office in Missouri handles the whole country.
Can you get the money back via your CC, and ship the emperor back to the seller COD if they want to take their chances with the post office?EDIT: Here’s apic of my emperor also, hope it helps you feel better. They are out there to be found! (though I bought him new)
Much as I’d love a Moon dragon in emerald to match the rest of my/her family, and I know the idea is only for the leftover Suns actually, but what about matching the names? The Sun in hot yellows/oranges/reds and the Moon in cool blues/greys/silvers?
*i need a little muse in my life*
So think of all the inspiration you’re giving! lolI was able to buy the Decoart antiquing medium, Wayne and Newton masking fluid, and the Golden mixer and retarder at my Michaels. If you haven’t, it might be worth checking yours.
You can still get nailpolish remover with acetone- here in Florida at least. I think it’s illegal in some areas. Or, as suggested, you can get stronger acetone in automotive or hardware stores.
I’ve seen it on little pads (like alcohol prep pads). I have some, but they were given to me and I have no idea where they came from. They might be an easier way yo remove a light coat of paint.I agree with Thornwolf(?) on LJ- I really like the looks of the paint job on the mama and hatcher. The image is faded, but it still doesn’t look quite like regular old green to me (esp. on mama; baby looks green but dark). I also prefer more matte, ‘natural’ looking colors on them.
Really like the wolf one too! And the bobcat.Just bumping this as I’ve tried to sell her and very little interest, I know this isn’t the right place (there’s a post in Flea Market) but maybe people who like PYOs would look here. I’d like to make my purchase and shipping price off her; so far, I’ll get the purchase.
