Has anyone seen the Purring Cat?

I found it while looking at Astral Castle’s Windstone Encyclopedia. I’ve never seen it before and would love to find one. Anybody have one that they’d part with? 🙂

I believe it was one of the original animals. http://community.livejournal.com/windstone_ed/79884.html has a picture of them. Which cat the purring cat was, I’ve no idea.

I think the purring cat is #102 on that page. The rest of those cats don’t look like they would be purring. #203 looks unsure, #202 is cleaning it self, #201 looks like it’s about to pounce on something. I have seen these back in the 80’s but I never did buy any. If only I had. I don’t think I would part with one if I did have it. (Maybe check out antique shows and markets?)

Yeah, the purring cat is item #102.
I bet most of the old original animals went to completely different people from (the type of) folks who are collecting now. I bet if they ever got listed on E-Bay most auctions wouldn’t even mention Windstone. 😕

I have seen a few of the older cats on e-bay. Not very often though.

Really? Do you remember about how long ago the last “old original” animal popped up?

There was an armadillo. That’s the only one I’ve actually seen. It sold for a LOT.

And *cough* I have an inside tip that some of those mystery boxes of old things at the factory might, in fact, contain a few of those old animals. So although they’ll still be perishingly rare, we might actually see a few of them someday.

Apparently back in the day they cast a lot of everything, but it was the dragons that sold best, so there were unsold leftovers of the others.

Hah! I bet Melody was just waiting for her old originals to be noticed so she could “discover” them in the warehouse and sell these very rare pieces for big bucks. She’s a marketing genius. 😆
