My goodness, Ciarnet, I hope everything will be ok.
I came in here to complain a little about my wretched day at work. I got there to discover one of the dogs dead in his kennel. Then also, one of the 2 people scheduled to work with me came in an hour and a half late, and the other one didn’t come in at all (his significant other was having a baby today). So for the first portion of the morning, I was stuck trying to do everything by myself in addition to dealing with finding a dead dog and being shaky from that. To top it all off, a dog gave me a bloody lip from banging me with its head (injuries like that aren’t unusual at my job, but I didn’t need that today)…
I don’t work at a vet- I shouldn’t have to deal with dead animals. 🙁

Thanks for the input, guys! He IS cute. I’ve already been messaged by one person. Depending on if they’ve got something I want or not, you might see this guy go up for trade in the classifieds. I’ll post an update in here later on.

Welcome! It’s great you get to enjoy your daughter’s obsession. 🙂 And what a great momma, buying Windstones for Christmas! I’ve yet to convince my husband to take that course of action. Lol

My prize came today! A GB pebble fox. Signed by Melody of course. He was waiting for me when I got home from work this evening. I can’t get pics tonight, but I’ll plan on it tomorrow! He’s a cutie, and very pretty. However, I’m not sure I’ll be keeping him, since I mainly like to collect the dragons/dinosaurs! On the one hand, I want to keep him because he’s special, being the first thing I ever won here. But on the other hand, I’d like him to go to someone who’d really love him and get myself something I’d really love too!
I don’t know what he’d qualify for in trading as far as dragons go. Anyone have any input as far as that goes? (His worth?) Maybe a GB mini keeper or a fledgeling? I do want a fledgeling. I really don’t know what GB pebble foxes go for. They’re so tiny I’m a little worried I won’t be able to trade him for anything- but if I can’t, oh well, keeping the little guy won’t be the worst thing in the world!
But yeah, I’ll be getting pics. 🙂

I know I’m getting to this late. I’m sorry to hear the sad news.
It sounds like she led quite a life- 85 years old and 12 children. That is pretty awesome.
My thoughts go to you & your family.Formerly had the Batman & Joker avatar!
Heh! What a perfect quest for October!
Not sure whether I’ll enter this or not… I do have a rather interesting idea for it, but I’m not particularly good at doing this kind of thing.

Oh awesome! I just saw this and sent an e-mail, Kiya. Hope you received it.
Thanks for the congrats, guys. 🙂
My first time winning something! Wonder what it is? *Crosses fingers for a dragon* lolFormerly had the Batman & Joker avatar!
I like fall, too! It’s pretty, the baseball season gets exciting and the World Series comes, and I like Halloween.
But it also usually snows here at least once by Halloween. I’m not ready for winter to come again yet. Seems like it just ended. Sigh.
And fall isn’t nearly as pretty here in CO Springs (at least in my nook of it) as it was where I used to live in CA.Formerly had the Batman & Joker avatar!
I feel a lot better about my entry this time. I only found a few differences in the last one.
This is kinda fun. 😀

^Lol, Broncos aren’t THAT big! Except when raised. I do have slightly bigger than stock tires on mine, but it’s not lifted and I don’t think I’ll ever put a lift kit on it. I am a pretty short girl and have to keep things on the practical side, lol, even though a lift would be nice for off-roading (I can’t do too hardcore of off-roading like this, although it is still pretty capable for a stock vehicle). But even being a shorty, I actually feel really well-fitted to the Bronco and can see out of it quite well. I feel much better driving it than my husband’s muscle cars- I feel shorter in those and can’t see out as well! Most people would think it’d be the opposite probably.
But for a while, my brother had a lifted Bronco. That thing was pretty crazy, yeah. Harder to control AND to see out of.
Stock, though, it’s a great vehicle all around. I love Broncos. 😀 And mine was made the same year I was born! 🙂

Oh I’m so happy to read the good news! I’ve been a bit behind at the forum so only a day or 2 ago read about Casper’s woes in the other thread. I was thinking about him and you and then today was so happy to find this thread.
Casper is super lucky to have a mom that loves him so much and takes great care of him! You are a wonderful mommy to him. I’m so glad about the happy ending. Is his cone off yet?

I’ve known some people who’ve named their cars. The Beast is a pretty common one for Suburbans or other large trucks.
Years ago, my sister & I named the Bronco that my parents had and which I drove for a while. We called it Billy. But I haven’t named a vehicle since then. I’ve only had 2, and still have ’em (I’m loyal like that! :D) I somewhat considered naming my Bronco (it’s an ’86 full-size Bronco. Not the one my parents had). I love it a lot and have put a lot of work into it- and haven’t even started on the exterior. But when it comes down to it, I don’t really feel like naming it. I just can’t take that seriously or take people seriously when they’re talking about their car and calling it “Michelle” or something, lol.
Despite it not having a name, I have indeed declared it to be a male. Go figure. 😛I wouldn’t name my ’93 Accord, and haven’t even established a gender for it, because, well, it’s just a Honda. 😛 I am fond of it (it’s a good car, it’s a stick shift, and it was my grandpa’s car then my parents then mine), but the fact is it’s still a Honda. I just drive it to get places and to save gas. I won’t even put anything extra on it other than the little SF Giants sticker I was given, which I stuck in the window. (Don’t even get me started on people who have loud exhaust on cars like this!)
My husband doesn’t name his vehicles, either. Some people think it’s weird we don’t, since we’re “car people” (love ’em, work on ’em, go to car shows all summer etc.). But that’s just not “us” I guess. We do call one of his vehicles “the crossbreed,” because it’s a mix between a Firebird and a Camaro (he has a Camaro, a Firebird, and now has been building one that’s a mix between the two as well as doing a number of other more crazy & unique things to it). So we call that one the crossbreed, but that’s really more of a term than a name and is for the sake of convenience when talking.

I haven’t really had time to be at the forum much the past few weeks, so I only just now saw this post and the post with the quest 15 winners. It looks like quest 16 didn’t get going in August after all. What’s up?

September 2, 2014 at 3:46 am in reply to: We've been having some issues emailing to "yahoo" addresses #918285Anyone with a yahoo email address – if you want to try emailing me and let me know if it doesn’t work – that would be appreciated! Also if you try sending an email via the “contact us” format. The more testing we can do the better!
I’m not sure if the e-mail sender would be aware if the e-mail didn’t go through. I use yahoo, as does my dad, and a couple of times that I’ve e-mailed him recently, he didn’t receive it- despite yahoo telling me the e-mail was sent (and it appeared in my Sentbox). I’ve been e-mailing to his gmail address lately instead and that has worked. Not sure what is going on.
