Oh I’m so happy to read the good news! I’ve been a bit behind at the forum so only a day or 2 ago read about Casper’s woes in the other thread. I was thinking about him and you and then today was so happy to find this thread.

Casper is super lucky to have a mom that loves him so much and takes great care of him! You are a wonderful mommy to him. I’m so glad about the happy ending. Is his cone off yet?

Thank you and not yet! His stitches come off tomorrow and we’re going to wait until Thursday to take the cone off so that he doesn’t worry the stitch injuries too much (dem lil’ holes) because he is going to be pretty enthusiastic about his butt hygiene I think the second that cone comes off haha. He’s starting to be more energetic now and act like himself again which is a huge relief. Last night he greeted me at the door when I got home, which he hasn’t done since before he got sick. I really missed that!

Our catmonster Gandalf had to have the same surgery. It was awful to have to take him, in pain, to the emergency vet a couple times a week for several weeks. The surgery was a godsend. He’s been great since–only one UTI since, which cleared up right away with antibiotics. But with just one issue in over 2 years, I’ll take it. I hope Casper does as well.

Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜€ He just got the cone off and I actually think that he might even be happier than he was before. I haven’t seen him bounding around like a deer yet like he did before but I have seen him run and he has been very conversive, asking for pets and whatnot. I think he’s recovered beautifully and now the only thing I have to wait for is for his bald butt to get fluffy again haha! It’s very reassuring to hear that Gandalf recovered okay from the same procedure. ๐Ÿ˜€
