Just saw this thread- so great of you to take that kitty in, Bodine! I would do the same thing! It’s a good thing I haven’t had cats show up at my place or I would have a lot more than the two I have… lol.

Minion is very cute. Gotta love those ears!

^Really nice score on your first GB! Congrats! That’s a great looking dragon. This was only my second GB, as I only collect dragons too.

          Those are both lovely!

          Mine came today too!

I’m happy with her and am not big on trading, but might consider it if someone else loves her and has one I like better (I particularly like some of the red and black kois.)

I don’t think they would be over $200 though or at least I hope not since the grab bag curlies that came out before with the same stone globes were only $140 and these are about the same size and the mini keepers were $175. I just hope they aren’t much more or I wouldn’t be able to afford one.

It would be awesome if you’re right. I was thinking the mini keepers were more than that- I’d forgotten. I do expect them to cost more than those, though.

Well, good luck to us, lol.

Price wise… I wouldn’t be surprised if they come close to the $300 mark. Between the intricate paint schemes and also considering they have those lovely granite and agate marbles as opposed to the gold plated pewter eggs… I’d PREPARE for that and be pleasantly surprised if it’s less. Like maybe $280 or something hopefully.

That’s pretty much what I was thinking.

^ Yeah, I’m worried about leaving my house and them coming into stock when I’m not able to pounce on them, lol. I know I said I shouldn’t spend the money, but I more or less convinced my husband to agree to pay for one for me as a (very) early Christmas present.  I just hope they’re not way more expensive than I’m expecting!

^ I love Stranger Things! I just recently re-watched the first season and can’t wait for season 2 to arrive.

For Halloween I usually stay home, pass out candy, watch movies, and eat pizza & candy. Much like the thread starter, lol.
I almost always watch the original first couple of Halloween movies, and sometimes 4 and 5 as well. I’m not a big fan of the other big horror sagas (Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street etc.) but I love me some Michael Myers (original version).
Sometimes I do throw in other horror movies. I particularly love old Vincent Price movies, a couple of my favorites being Haunted Palace and The Tingler, but he has so many great ones.

I haven’t really been at the forum lately and I just discovered these are coming out when I saw the video posted on Facebook! Oh my goodness! I need one! I don’t have a coiled mother and the only other grab bag I’ve bought was a mini keeper. (I’m mainly into dragons!) These are awesome and just the kind of thing I’ve been waiting for. Alas, I just recently quit my job and am now working from home as a transcriptionist. Since I’m not making as much money at that yet, I vowed not to spend unnecessary money until I do work my way up to making a decent amount of money again.

                        But … these … are so… awesome!
I don’t know what to do. Help lol

About what can we expect the price to be?

Since we’re on the subject of new sculpts… well, obviously you’ve done a lot of dragons already, but when you’re ready to think about another new dragon sculpt… would one with outspread wings be possible? I’ve been thinking lately about how it feels like that’s missing from the Windstone dragon family and how great it would look! I was actually gonna post this in the squeak thread but this kind of seemed like an opportune moment, lol.

^Well, start saving and you can order it eventually! I may be able to find you a link if you want. It’s definitely awesome! I have it displayed on a shelf between a couple of dragons, haha.

I’m actually dressing as Atreyu for a convention in April! I’m a pretty small person and can pull off a young boy pretty well, lol.

I echo the idea of a sturdy wooden shelf! It does not have to be expensive to be sturdy. The majority of my Windstone collection resides on a wooden shelf I’ve had so long I can’t remember where I got it. Recently I was considering getting a curio cabinet for my (very slowly) growing collection, but decided instead to go with another wooden bookshelf! I like the layout of a shelf better anyway! I actually found a really nice wooden one at a local thrift store for $35! I was pressing down on the shelves and everything to get an idea how they strong they were, lol.

I’d first suggest checking your local thrift stores if you have some thrift stores that carry large items like bookshelves (I got mine at an Arc store), and also keep your eye on your local Craigslist ads. I personally feel like the brand does not matter- you should be able to tell by examining it if it’s sturdy and of course if it looks nice enough for you. Look at the mounts for the shelves (if the shelves aren’t built in) and the thickness of the shelves, and just use your judgment if these parts seem sturdy enough for your pieces! Honestly most wooden bookshelves will do- those suckers are usually pretty strong! A good rule of thumb is to keep your smallest pieces on top and go bigger towards the bottom *just* in case.

I really don’t think you should have trouble finding a good bookshelf for under the $300 price cap you mentioned! But I also agree, if you can afford to collect ebay Windstones, a good shelf should be no problem lol!
                                Good luck!
