I love all the tattoo scheme dragons I’ve seen! Looks great on all the orientals. The only way I’d ever afford one is if they went to limited production… hint hint… *puppy dog face*

Isn’t that a Ciruelo dragon? I have a couple of Ciruelo books, including a signed one now 😀 I just noticed that sig too. It is one of my favorite dragon images and has been a cover picture on my Facebook.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to say: happy new year to everyone!

I hope you have plenty of support/help from those around you and that you can soon get this problem ultimately taken care of so you can have some healing and/or effective medication!

I’ve continued to have itchy bumps show up on my skin, which sometimes drive me crazy, and they don’t go away. They just stay. Been 2 months of this now although for a while it was only 1 bump.

              Grr.

When I saw the blog, I sent in my entry with godspeed! I’ve been wanting a spectral and that color looks pretty close to emerald peacock which is a color I love but don’t own. Even better that it’s a test paint. Would be my first one of those as well. 😀

I got most of my Christmas presents into a couple photos-

Pic 1= collector’s edition of Batman: Arkham Origins for PS3 and the things it came with: the game, a documentary, a Joker statue with TVs behind him that turn on, an artbook, etc. + a Misfits shirt behind it which was another gift.

Pic 2= An Arkham Origins poster (it didn’t come with the Arkham Origins bundle but was a separate gift)- because I’ll never have too many Batman posters- , The Dark Knight trilogy on blu ray with special feature discs, a symphony + Metallica cd (2 discs), Tom Clancy’s newest book released posthumously earlier this month (he is/was my favorite author), & a box of candy. Also got World War Z on blu-ray but forgot to include it in the picture.

I’m not a Batman fan or anything.

Mine had perfect timing- it arrived on Christmas Eve day! It was my first time getting one from Melody. Thank you!!

My husband was like, “She’s really sending it to her dragons! Go show it to the dragons!” :p

I think I could honestly say I love my job now. Some of you probably read my post about it when I switched jobs several months ago.

Well, a little background. After high school I did 2 years of community college, and enjoyed some of it (in addition to some normal general ed stuff I took and enjoyed German, piano, archery, auto tech and welding). I didn’t continue with college beyond 2 years, not that I wasn’t smart enough or couldn’t afford it (my parents were capable of helping me), but I just really didn’t have anything I wanted to pursue with it! I hated the idea of tying myself down to a particular major and a career path.

My first job, which was while I went to that college was working part time at a Ross store. It was just a job to make and save a little money while I was still living with my parents, and I didn’t like or hate it. It was customer service though which isn’t exactly my forte (I mean I can be good at it, but I’m not a fan)!

Since then I’ve worked at a dog daycare/boarding place (3 years), at a nursing home/healthcare center as a housekeeper (also 3 years), and now again at another dog daycare/boarding place. My housekeeping job was minimum wage the whole time, and although I like being physically active during the workday, I was overworked. Although my immediate supervisor was good, the company was wretched to us in many ways.
Now I’m glad to be working with dogs again and I’m making a little more money- I got a dollar raise pretty quickly after I began there in July. I often have to get up horribly early but the job is worth it. It’s so nice not having to dread work. The company is also great- the yearly Christmas party is playing laser tag, bowling, and having a buffet dinner- all paid for! My hours are also steadier than they were at the other doggie daycare I worked at.

I have no intention of leaving this job. It may not exactly be lucrative, but I can’t imagine myself being happier anywhere else. THAT is what’s important for sure. My husband works also, making barely *slightly* more than I do. It’s still hard to get by but we do, and we’re both blessed with jobs that are well suited to us. He gets to work on cars and I get to work with animals. 🙂

As for the medical field if you’re not wanting to go in too deep, at my last job I learned that to be a CNA you only have to take a course that’s like… 2 weeks I think? A CNA is a nurse assistant. You don’t have to know and do much medical stuff, and you’d have some options, like working at a nursing home, a hospital, and probably other options. It’s also a good base if you decided you wanted to move further in the medical field after experiencing some things and learning what kind of opportunities are out there.

I agree in a way. I believe if we always let circumstances control our attitudes, life will be a lot more sucky. It’s not possible to always be happy about what’s happening, but it’s still possible to have a good attitude and not focus on the negatives, no matter how bad they may be. It can be difficult to teach yourself to do this but overtime it’s possible to be more that way. And as a Christian I rely quite a bit on my beliefs and the “joy” that that brings- I think joy is something different from simple happiness, more of an underlying thing that gives you peace. It’s easy to get emotional over ridiculous things sometimes and I’ve been trying to just remind myself what’s really important.

As for getting offended, I think to an extent a person can’t help that- some people have really sensitive personalities (I’m this way myself to a degree). For these people it can be easy to take many things personally and dwell on them a bit too much, causing anger or sadness. Even if a person tries to not be “offended,” and realizes that what other people say shouldn’t offend them, sometimes it is still their natural reaction to have those feelings.
However, while I think it may be difficult for some to stop themselves from having that immediate reaction of feeling offended by things, they can teach themselves not to dwell on it so much and bring the attitude factor into play again, controlling their reaction.

So, I do think your mom is right although it’s really not black and white. Some people can’t easily just go “Oh I’m not going to be offended” or “Oh I’m not going to let life get me down” and then have it be so. Most or all of us probably struggle with both at some point.

I found out that the tests on a mole I had removed came back as irregular, and she said a certain name for it but I can’t remember it. She described it as “funny looking cells” and now I have an appointment in a month to have either an excision or a punch biopsy done before I can know more.
A bit scared. :~ Partly because of the potential for it being something bad and partly because this is an area I don’t want mutilated by the doctors (the mole was on my breast!).

I also got several little itchy bumps (flesh colored, not red) which are mostly on my arms and that seem like bug bites only they’re not. The first one showed up around the beginning of November and only about a week and a half ago did the others present themselves. Wtf?

Also since the dermatologist seemed pretty sure there was nothing wrong with the mole she removed when I had her remove it for me (yet here it is apparently irregular), she was obviously mistaken about that. I knew it had changed and developed a different tone around it because I know my body. I’m wondering if she’s also wrong about the other couple of moles I pointed out to her which have been developing redness around them and seem kind of scabby. She was like “Oh it seems to be a pattern with you, since more than 1 mole seems to have that redness around it. Don’t worry.” Ok lady, I know my body and I know when things are changing. Whether it’s bad or not I don’t know. I guess I’ll try talking about those moles again while I’m there plus mentioning the other itchy bumps- even if they’re gone by then I’ll let her know I had them. I’m really trying not to be paranoid but it’s kind of hard, especially after getting a phone call like that… now I get to wait a month (and then some days after that!).
Being somewhat of a hypochondriac (not a super serious one, but still to a degree), my mind jumps to “Cancer! You have cancer!” Ugh.

Also: I’m supposed to pay for this crap?! :O
