I don’t know how many people on here watched BtVS. My husband and I own the entire series and watched all the episodes a few months back. I seemed to remember an episode that had Windstone Unicorns in it so I pulled the discs out started looking for them. I found them in Season 5, Episode 2: Real Me.
Settting up the scene with the unicorn is this snippet of the script.
GILES: (wandering back into view) I bet the death rate keeps the rent down. (pauses) Oh, hello. Something’s been taken from this case, look here.
He goes over to a case where the glass has been knocked out.
BUFFY: What’d they take?
Willow looks in the inventory book.
GILES: I should think an item of, of value, or-or power, possibly even a-
WILLOW: A unicorn. 10-inch ceramic unicorn imported from Thailand.
BUFFY: Was it valuable?Giles stares in puzzlement at the empty case.
WILLOW: (OS) List price, $12.95.
GILES: Which begs the question, what kind of an unholy creature fancies cheap tasteless statuary?
Cut to head shot of Harmony.
HARMONY: Okay, hi. First of all, I wanna thank everybody for a really successful raid on the magic shop last night. (applauding) Good job, minions!We see Harmony in the underground lair, wearing a skimpy black top and shiny gold pants. Four male vampires are standing around. They applaud along with her, a little uncertainly. They are Brad, Cyrus, Peaches, and Mort. Mort is very tall and large, whereas the others are fairly average-sized.
HARMONY: Yes, you deserve it. Secondly… (turns away to reach for something) somebody remembered to pick me up the sweetest little unicorn! (Holds up the ceramic unicorn and smiles at Brad. The other vamps stare at him.)
BRAD: (whispering to other vamps) What?
HARMONY: Brad, guess someone was feeling guilty for standing me up in the tenth grade. (Admiring the unicorn)
BRAD: (to other vamps) I, I had to get her something. She sired me.
Peaches: (to Cyrus) Sire-whipped.We see Mort adding the unicorn to a large collection of other unicorn statues sitting on a table.
In the second picture you can also see the mother unicorn, the young unicorn and I believe 2 unicorn gargoyles.
Now we all know these aren’t $12.95 ceramic unicorns imported from Thailand, but it’s good to see them anyway. They also made another appeance later inside The Magic Shop but I don’t remember what was going on in the episode to find them.
Oh and I lightened the pictures up to make things easier to see.
I think I had 4 or 5 different ones before I threw them away trying to get rid of some clutter. I agonized over throwing them away and now here I am regretting it less than a year later.
The most recent one I remember having had the Cat Wizard’s Face on the front and was from 2002 or so. The one I kept has the emerald hatching royalty (emperor, kinglet and empress) on the front. I picked it up from the Dragon’s Lair folks when I went to Dragon*Con in 1997.
Thanks GB. I forgot the flyers were called catalogs and did a search for them and found the previous topic on them. Drats.
Anyone have a double of a more recent catalog they wouldn’t mind sending me? I could spare a few dollars for it.
I was wondering if there were any new Windstone flyers in the works. I know there hasn’t been one put in a while and with some colors retiring and new ones being introduced it would be nice to have.
Part of why I ask is there are a few shops I want to try to talk into carrying Windstones, but it’s hard to convince them if they can’t see the product. I have an old flyer, but can’t bring myself to take it with me since it’s from 1997 or so and over half the pieces on it are retired now (flap cats, black unicorns, pegasus, ki-rin, griffin, and then the peacock and emerald dragon colors). I also can’t take any of my collection with me because all of the pieces except for one (hatching pegasus) are retired.
I’m wishing I hadn’t thrown away the other more recent flyers I had when I was trying to get rid of some clutter. I held on to the one I did because I loved everything pictured in it.

Skan! I always pictured him like the black griffin and now the new pearl for when he gets bleached going through the mage gate.

Not just deserted but missed troop movement (he was being deployed to Iraq). Don’t know if he’s been caught.
We didn’t realize they were gone. We hadn’t seen the car in a while and figured he was gone and his wife to the baby to be with family.
I came home one day to find a Sergeant waiting four housing to show up so they could make arrangements to move any remaning possessions out so the apartment can be rented out. He told me what happened.
The guy and his wife were really young. I’d say 20 at the most. According to my neighbor across from me the guy came to a party they were having and he wasn’t that smart.

I wish folks around Ft. Stewart would follow the guidelines. When our upstairs neighbors moved in they were bad about leaving their music on real loud. I went and banged on their door one morning at 2 am to get them to turn it off. Their dog barked at the door, but no one came to it. The music went off around 5 am. It wasn’t the only time this happened either.
I know it sounds bad to say, but I’m glad the idiot took his wife, newborn and deserted the army. They were not good neighbors at all.

Hey DM when you are at the factory picking up your Secret Keeper how about taking along a camera to snap a picture of the Muse and getting your friend to help you post it. I’ve been here a few months and I even missed what it looked like. The pictures must have come down just before I got on.

That Unicorn statue… the one with the mare and foal? 😀 yeah my BF gave me that for Xmas a couple of years ago… it’s nice… but really doesn’t fit in… 😆
I know it’s supposed to be a mare, but it’s got a beard which equals male in my personal unicorn mythology.
I know what you mean about it not fitting in. I currently have it on my Windstone shelf because there’s no room on the “unicorn” shelf of my doll cabinet where almost all of my other unicorns are. I hope I don’t get many more in the future I just don’t have room for them and I’m afraid I’m going to get a gosh awful one that I’ll have to put on an “Oh I love it” face for.
Definately more than just dragons. No offense to the dragon lovers (I love them too) I just would like to see something other than dragons.
If you had them you could use group shots of the different families so you don’t have quite so many to choose from.

Have you tried going to an unfinished furniture store? When I got my doll cabinet (many years ago) it came from one. We took it home, dad took out the glass on the sides and the shelves. Then we stained it the color I wanted it to be.
My cabinet has glass shelves and I’ve never had problems with them. Of course the cabinet holds dolls, not the Windstones because there’s no room in the cabinet for them. It was full before I got my first one so they go on a nice wooden shelf on my computer desk.
That might be a good option for you to explore. Or if you find a piece you like except for the color -if you are sure it’s wood and not wood laminate you can always sand it down and restain it.

Here she is next to Missy… the kitten. ^.^ I swear I love these pics… it makes it look as if she’s breathing and ready to pounce at me should I look at *her* kitten wrong… 😆

I looked at few of the other photos on your account (hope you don’t mind). Just wanted to say I have that same non-Windstone sculpture of a unicorn and a baby unicorn. Was a Christmas present from my BIL one year.
