That Oriental dragon with all those pin holes, would look kinda neat painted pink/red like coral 8D! it already hase the holes xD *hides*
Pyewahcet’s advice after reading her someones advice on the blog:
Check and see if you have an airator in your system, and also if you are using an artisian well for the water, it will naturally be bubbly and have sulphur in it. Vibration still sounds like the best bet, and the humidity could be bringing the bubbles to the surface.www.nakaseart.com
Ochres can only breed with other “drakes” which means there is a possibilty that new dragons in the future might be able to cross breed with them <3
Pygmies have different sprites for both male and female adult and stage2 hatchlings. so if you collect the different sprites, you’ll need four eggs, two to freeze and two to grow up.
MANY of the new dragons waiting to come have different sprites for the male and female, not to mention the project to change some of the current sprites to have new poses for some of the genders.

OH! Sudden epiphany!
When in jewelry casting, with the lost wax casting technique, we have to use a vaccum chamber, to get all the bubbles out of it. Could this possibly help you guys? Maybe a vibrating platform, like when you cast concrete? Or(the cheaper way) use a hand vibrator and hold it to the mold? >_> ehem…
Also, moving from North Hollywood to Oregon you went from dry hot to wet hot, so a dehumidifier in your casting department might FIX your problem o_o (discussing the troubleshooting process of this problem with Pyewacket)
Bless you and the Windstone folks o_o that is a LOT of product that is unusable…and very heartbreaking in that I wish I could have one of those oriental dragons π₯ π₯ π₯ I’m seriously going to stop whining about it, after seeing all those poor things sitting there ready to be smashed…
(will paste this over on the blog <3 I just hope you see it Melody. We're all here ready to brainstorm possible solutions for this nasty problem)
EDIT: the blog is up WITH PICTURES

Another thought – what is the source of your water? If it’s not deionized (filtered) there could be some trace metals or salts that are interfering with the new gypsum formula. Just a wild idea.
Like a clean room! only for Windstones!
Has this been tried yet Melody? Perhaps your adoring fans have combined their brain power to give you a possible solution to your woes?

can’t get my photobucket account to work anymore.
I’ll have to see how much luck I have photoing the problems, the pin hole bubbles are almost microscopic. I have to have someone else spot the defects, I usually can’t see them! They show up prominently after the piece is painted though. It’s really frustrating.
Thankfully, because our molds are one-piece glove molds, most of our pieces don’t have seam lines, except where there is a hole through the piece.
We fix everything we can, and use some hopelessly bad ones as training pieces for painters.
I like to rescue a few bad ones once in awhile, and spend a bunch of time re-carving details and patching them with epoxy. I often use these as subjects for doing the test paints. Augustus the Bengal griffin is one of these. I get attached to them.
We need to destroy the rest.Yes, I would love to see the culprit behind all your frustrations <3
I eargly await your next blog then ^^; even if it’s about the ‘virus-like’ issue you’ve been trying to recover from.I’m going to assume that all of us here, really are wishing you and Windstone all the best in finding out what is messing everything up and to give you wisdom to figure out how to fix it π

Hi again Melody! (sorry to buuuug)
I’m curious about all the casting issues you guys are facing. Would it be possible to show us, pictures, of the Windstone rejects? The ones with the bubbles, the orientals that you have to ‘clean up’ after casting, etc? I can only picture a two sided sculpture with the line running down it’s middle…kinda like those resin sculptures they used to have at zoos. I remember using my nails to scratch off those extra bits of resin to try and ‘smooth it out’ when I was little.
Do you fix all the castings that come out badly, or do you sometimes have to toss them out if to far gone?
So, any pictures of the Windstone Rejects?

I’ve sent the pic off to my mom, we’ll see what she says tomorrow x_xEDIT: She likes the Sconce π though now she’s complaining about color of the tail…saying she’s always thought of green/red like a mermaid in a movie called “Splash” Oie…. Thank again Frozen <3 I'll need to save up to buy one though xD

I like the butt crack too…but I’m looking at it from an artist’s point a view…’normal’ folks I guess might not find it very attractive…maybe they don’t want the thought to cross their minds about how they poop? I dunno, I’ve never understood the thoughts of my mother π
thank you Frozen <3 if you don't mind, could I show that picture to my mom? via an email?
