I’m sorry you have to go through all that, dragonfeathers. You must have a lot of patience! I’d never last in your shoes.
Setsuna, I’m sorry to hear that! Hopefully if you got it it’s a mild case!
Crossing fingers for you, Fatal!
Oo, more eye-candy! All these guys are looking amazing! Like little jems! Congrats!
Thanks! I was very lucky!
I am reporting a close encounter of the third kind! (Haha)
The alien has landed! Yes, I got the original 102. Bf got the only 46 (I think? I don’t think I saw any clones for that). Bf is very happy and still thinking of names for his dragon. I call 102 “Tesla” because if anyone could have figured out how to cross space and time it would have been him, and this dragon did!
Btw thanks for the fuzzy, Melody! He’s cute and matches them both!
Congrats! They make a great pair!
July 9, 2020 at 3:09 pm in reply to: A Large Collection Will Be For Sale Over The Coming Months #1623114I’m about to get 4 rubies including a damaged darker looking lap. Let me test it on her and retest it on my oriental (who is dark but I didn’t bother to clearcoat due to the red’s natural shine), then. Just to be absolutely 100% sure of this stuff that it won’t do that wrinkling or anything.
I suspect it’ll work because this is designed to work with and repair cars that also had that unstable paint and if it did that then there’d be a lot of uproar in car repair regarding crappy work. Per the pros who do it for a living a lot of work went into improvement over the years in regards to paint technology.
I’d get it from a dealer, as I’ve only seen pens sold by them. Your car type’s dealer would have it, they all have or can order clearcoat. So far I’ve only seen spraycan form at car parts places and I’m not fully sold on it being exactly the same though it seems so. Besides, I think the pentip is rough on purpose to help blend (buffing it maybe?) with the old clearcoat and irregularities or thickness-of-application issues there, but that’s just my running theory. Buffing car clearcoat correctly actually removes irregularities and minor scratches after all. Will keep you guys posted on how it all turns out once I start on the lap so don’t give up hope for those guys yet!
July 9, 2020 at 12:07 pm in reply to: A Large Collection Will Be For Sale Over The Coming Months #1623108Clearcoat issues can be solved with a car dealership clearcoat pen (about $20). Don’t be afraid to use the applicator tip, that won’t damage the paint and will allow it to blend any clearcoat repair in seamlessly.
Found this out on my PYO kitty griffin, since he was my ruby paint repair testing piece. Trust me, this works!
Seguso bird and square paperweight sold!
Congrats!
Picked up an emerald peacock scratcher (always wanted something of that color) and an emerald lap (was dreaming of one!). Happy happy.
Horse sold! Seguso bird and square paperweight pending.
Congrats!
Dove with floral sold!
Misc misc.
Ceramic dragon oil warming thing with tealight. Burn mark in bowl is my fault for trying incense. No chips or marks beyond that. Can add a new tealight if you want.
2 exact same floral design Yixing purple ceramic teacups with lids. Slight chip on each lid, you have to hunt for it. Someone taped the lids on when I found them and I didn’t get all the glue off them when I washed them. Had chinese stickers saying Yixing (lost when cleaned) so I think its the authentic purple glaze.
Tea Deck from Barnes and Noble. Never used. Basically tea info summed up kn cards.
Brass horse (again because I’m trying to consolidate sales/trades here). In some theories its from Spain. Black paint on brass with the filigree carved into its sides and gold tone paint on top. Some black has worn off in spots along the edges. Very classy, very heavy, is mord likely to break the floor than vice versa. Cannot be shipped with glass or fragiles.
Misc.
Glass dove with floral. No marks, no chips.
Glass pear, gold interior, and blue in bottom but reflects upward somehow. A couple small side scratches and stem is broken.
2 pretty empty bottles, great for crafts or alcohol, they fully seal.
