Emerald, I think you were reading my mind. I was thinking about bring up the same thing.
It would be nice if we could just buy transfers that we could put on our own shirts. Cafe Press is okay, but all they sell is white (last time I looked). A calendar would be great too.
They have black, grey, and a bunch of other colors too. I have a store on Cafe Press selling Fairy Fossil tees (my husband’s art), so I get item updates sometimes. Are you happy with the quality? From my experience , the quality is great.. but I’ve heard opinions to the contrary, also..

Have you ever thought of offering your Windstone designs on t-shirts or greeting cards or posters? Like a picture of “the BEP SK in a setting of caverns, gems all around it” on a sweatshirt? That would be awesome! I would buy my favorite dragons and griffins on shirts and tote bags and postcards. Cafe Press has an easy way to do this, and I’m sure there are other places that do too.Just wondering. I think about that all the time! I’ve been tempted to do something, like a calendar, or thong undies, on Cafe’ press, just for forum members. We did some t shirts once, but that was a long time ago. I need the time to do it, we just don’t have enough of that!
dragonessjade wrote:I was just wondering what made you come up with the idea of the Grimalkin Candlelamp and if there is a story behind it.
Well, as sometimes happens, I came up with the idea for the sculpture first, and then found out what it was later! (Like the Kirin) I wanted to do a shell- shaped sconce, something with a swirling cape that could light up behind the head to make a dark silhouette with glowng eyes. Originally, it was a human devil/demon-like thing, but since cats fit in the line better , it became a sort-of pixie/spirit/demon cat, which as it turned out, is called a “Grimalkin”. Perfect.
drag0nfeathers wrote:I don’t know if anyone asked this yet, but is there some sort of safe way to re-gloss a Windstone? I have a brown mother and father I got and also a green mother. All of them are VERY dull, but the Male green and young green are vibrant and shiny. It’s weird. The worn ones must just be alot older. The brown ones don’t even have felt pads so they must be ancient.
The older dragons were finished with a different type of coating . It wasn’t as glossy. I am afraid that putting a different , more glossy finish on them would affect their value, since the dull finish is the way they are supposed to be, and a way of telling the old ones from the newer ones. But I think any spray gloss acrylic should work as a finish, be sure to clean them well first.

I’d like to know the brand name, the color and the tip size (extra-fine, fine, medium, etc.) of the paint pen that were used for the detailing on the white dragons… I have a little fledgling that needs some touch-ups.
Thanks! That’s a little tricky; The gold effect is created by painting the details with yellow and then airbrushing over them. I think the airbrushed color is pale gold acrylic paint. You might be able to match it with yellow acrylic and then brush a thin layer of gold acrylic over it. The yellow color is a Deco pigment marker. The tip is the medium size, not the fine point one.

Yeah, we’ll keep it safe.
The winner of the #2 white Secret Keeper is someone we haven’t met yet, and they are in France!
Hey Vantid, We will be home next week, in case you are wondering where we are! Is Mouth still loosing his fur? Want me to bring your skinned vole home?

I meant real store fronts that are listed as dealers, but no longer have the line in the store. It is hard for us to tell without calling all of them regularly.
I think hes gotta be good, or Dumbledore wouldn’t of trusted him. He needs to appear evil to ingratiate himself with You-Know-Who, in order to infiltrate the enemy camp.

I have some pieces there myself, but I’d like to make something available to Forum members at a reasonable price.
In order to be as fair as I can imagine, I thought maybe a contest would be the best way to decide who gets the piece. –I propose a photo contest, with wildlife as the subject, the winner gets a retired Windstone piece as a prize. The winning photo will be reproduced by my gallery and sold, at a 50% split between the winner of the contest and our gallery.
We usually pay 60% to our consignment artists, ( we have like 70 of them), but as we will be printing the photos and packaging them, I think this would be fair. I think it would be a fun contest and maybe even educational. What do you think ❓People love contests… I am always the wet blanket though, I hate ’em. I personally refuse to judge one person’s art against another’s, because to me, that is not the purpose of art…(ah, that is a rant I won’t get into here)…and I want everybody to win. We have discussed this many times around here… This is a good place to get everyone’s input, and ideas on this subject! Your idea is wonderful, and I really appreciate your offer. We will discuss it.. The problem I can see with a photography contest, however, is that not everybody has the equipment,or access to wildlife to participate, so it would be a little unfair.Contests are also a little iffy, legally. We would have to look into what we could or could not do.
What does everyone think? ( No, I am NOT going to judge PYO’s against each other! That would be impossible!)emerald212 wrote:I got a store to start carrying them, but I didn’t get anything for it. Maybe the store didn’t tell Windstones I had contacted them about it.
YOU DID?? Well for heavens sakes! Get the store to tell somebody at Windstone… Or, heck, I’ll tell em…(I’m still in Oregon) what store was it? You deserve something for that!
It sounds as if our dealer list needs upgrading, If you’all would email us with the accounts that are no longer dealers, we could weed them out. -
