I don’t know if you mean this or not, but the griffen is painted in irredesent pearl and titanium white.
On the red and white griff? Which part is painted what kind of paint? I can’t see a difference on my monitor:-/

And then highlight with interference paints?

I thought the very same thing. They make us so happy and they look so unhappy.
Just to clarify – those are interference paints on flat white paint, right? Do they have a clear coat over them?
Have you (or anyone) used pearlescent paints on your PYOs or do you stick to using the interference paints?
Thanks!

Yup, WTG Water! 😀
I am not much for the look of this one, either. I know it takes talent to use an airbrush, but I don’t know that Windstones are the right medium for it (the way it’s done in this case at any rate). It makes me think of sweatshirts and license plates you can have made on the boardwalk. I’m sure this piece took time and effort, but it’s not something I would buy. That’s just my opinion, though…to each his own.
The kids around here are more mischievous than destructive. They tip the tops off of bird baths once in a while and smash the pumpkins after Halloween. Thankfully, they don’t break anything. I have a cement cat from another artist on my porch – it could always use a friend. 😀
Me, too. He would look nice sitting on my front porch:)
Wow – the new wings made it even nicer! Great job. 😀

Sorry to interrupt you guys. lol Both of them are beautiful, frozen!
Edited for spelling – it’s been a long night.

My pleasure. I love talking about glassware. I don’t have time to join another forum, though. lol
Greater Basilisk wrote:Is it a stone, or just a name for a type of coloring? I-ve never heard the term before.
As far as I know, the term is only used in glassware, but I could be wrong. Amberina glass made in the 1800’s shaded from fuschia to amber, contemporary amberina shades from true red to bright yellow. There are also examples of pinkish red to pale yellow. If you have time, search on eBay for amberina glass.

Me, too. How about an amberina griff? nudge nudge lol!
What’s amberina, lamorte?
Amberina shades from red through orange to yellow or amber, something like Sunhawk’s Sunbeam griffin.
And so many beautiful PYOs to choose from! 😯
