😯 I wish I got surprises like that one, Pip! Lucky you:)
I just finished repairing a couple of pieces with the Aves Fixit (thanks SPark). I found it easy to work with and easy to paint. Best of luck with your griffin, asinnamon!
They are prints of her earlier handpainted feathers. She does custom painted feathers with a price range of $135 – $2,500. I would love one, but there are still lots of Windstones that I don’t have….
Thank you for the offer, Melody. I appreciate it. 😀 I have to order my daughter’s PYO paint today and I will order some Golden copper.
Wow, those feathers are beautiful! I never noticed the links – thanks for the heads up:)
The person running the auction replied to me in a polite, positive manner, but I don’t think the changes she made to her auctions are sufficient. I just checked eBay and it made me really upset to see all of Water’s work posted on somebody else’s auctions – Gallery pix and all. *sigh* I guess it’s really up to Water how this gets handled. All we can do is support her and each other. Hopefully this young lady will get the message eventually. Has anyone invited her to join the Forum? Maybe seeing it in black and white will help.
That’s excellent, whippetluv! Thank you:)
I have a Peacock Emperor with a horn that needs to be touched up. I noticed the horns are not gold, but more of a bronze? color. Can you tell me which paint or paint pen to buy to fix him up? I hate to keep asking Karen for touch-up paint. Thanks!
Another thing to consider – if a person wanted to find out who WGW was, they would have a hard time. You can Google Watergazerwolf and it comes right up.
Truthfully, I am very non confrontational, but some things get me riled up enough to say something. 😯
As the owner of one of those commissioned wolves, I felt that I had to contact her via eBay. I wasn’t nasty, but I made it clear that I didn’t think what she was doing was fair to Water. She should take down the pictures or put it in bold, right up front, that the PYOs are Watergazerwolf’s. If it hurts her auction, too bad. All sellers get a free relist if their item doesn’t sell the first time around.
How about a picture, SPark? I love to see everyone’s kitties 😀

Below is what eBay says….I, as always, take this kind of info with a grain of salt. I have been on eBay a long time and I advise people to only bid what they are willing to pay. Don’t get into bidding wars, if you can help it. Unless you are bidding on a rare piece or a OOAK, let it go. Another one will surface eventually. eBay promises all kinds of things, but in the end, they do what’s best for themselves as a company.
From eBay:
“After the changes to Bid History are launched, how will eBay detect shill bidding?First, eBay is committed to prevent shill bidding from occurring on our site. It’s important to remember that, while the public will not have access to User IDs under the Safeguarding Bidder ID site changes, eBay will continue to have the same access to information that we have today.
eBay takes the issue of shill bidding (the use of a secondary bidding account to increase the level of bidding and the apparent value of an item) very seriously. Shill bidding is a violation that, when detected, leads to an immediate suspension or sanction. In addition, shill bidding is a crime in many states.
In the last several years, we’ve invested heavily in shill detection systems that enable us to proactively detect and investigate possible shill bidding scenarios with a higher rate of accuracy than ever before. Our backend systems collect more information on selling and/or bidding activity than our Community has access to, so we can detect patterns and ascertain identities much more accurately.
With the information provided as part of the Safeguarding Member ID project, we believe that members will still be able to detect and report suspicious activity. While we proactively search the site for shill bidding, we do appreciate the reports from the Community of suspicious activity and will continue to investigate them and take action where appropriate.”
Snap – you are very computer savvy – do you have an opinion on their claim to be able to detect shill bidding accurately?

They are talking about shill bidding. From eBay:
“Community Concerns
I’d like to acknowledge the concerns we’ve heard from some members who believe these changes may encourage shill bidding (the act of using friends or alias User IDs to bid on a seller’s own listing to artificially increase the bidding level.) First, let me make it very clear that shill bidding is not tolerated on eBay. Not only is this activity prohibited by our policies (read our shill bidding policy), it is also a crime in many states.”

Good for you adopting a new kitty! I hope he/she gets a clean bill of health. Somebody dumped my boy Domino and he ended up in my backyard. After he came home from the vet, it took a month before he came out from under the bed for any length of time:-/ He’s still a nervous kitty at times, but a sweetheart. Best of luck to you!
