Wow Quill!!! He’s impressive!!! Very nice!!
I certainly hope he does well for you on ebay! Post the link! I’d like to watch it! π
Love the Crystal Ball… very nice touch. ^.^
I can’t wait! My Ki-Rin and Dragon arrived last night!! You have NO idea how hard it was NOT to break out my paints at 9pm at night (that’s when I got home form work) and paint till 3am… I have the Ki-Rin with me at work… luckily the color scheme I have in mind won’t take me long tonight… I think she and the Gryphon will be up on ebay soon!!!
So excited!!! π
Oh wow that’s water color??? cool! I like the effect!
I’d almost think a wash of metallic silver over some of the unpainted areas (chest scales mainly) would look nice… not solid silver… just a wash over it to give it that metallic hint…
My PYO Dragon should be here tonight! He’s gonna be green… but not JUST green… oh no I went to town with interference paints on Friday!!! I can’t wait to use them! Oh they are SOOO cool!!!
I can’t wait to see more pics of your dragon finished! π
ooooh how about BLACK horns on his head? π
I have the GRyphon candle lamp… LOVE him… and REALLY want the Hippogryph too. π
Someday I’ll add some of the small stone cats… and another, maybe the Dragon Wall sconce to my collection. π
I agree with Whippet…
Melody’s sculptures are as close to REAL dragons… unicorns… gryphons… etc as we will ever get.
They are hands down the most skillfully sculpted… envisioned… in general… at least to me… they are the very best execution of these critters. For the most part they are the ideal… what the whole world should envision gryphons and unicorns look like! π
I mean honestly… there are TONS of fantasy figures out there… but what others come close to glaring at you and very nearly breathing fire??
I don’t have many… mostly due to space… but I think that’s going to change soon.
And heck… as far as “luxury items” so are model horses… I’m a collector period end… they are just another jewel to beautify my house and life! π
π HA HA HA! π
For all you MLP fans out there!
A friend of mine talked about doing it… and the thought made me laugh every time…
And here it is! She finally went and did it! She made a Custom… “burping, farting etc” My Little Pony!

I still think it’s hilarious! I hope it sells… on the pure shock value!!! HA HA HA!!!

Keplilly wrote:Wait…we’re supposed to be a good influence? π―
Obviously you missed Ski’s motto. π
No… you aren’t *supposed* to be a good influence… just give the *semblance* of being a good influence…
“No no… you don’t need a second one…” knowing full well that it will only make me buy one all the quicker! π
Oh well! I’ll regret it now… but not when they come! π
Must… get to painting!!!

π Or it could jsut be my school… The U of A is primarily a science school… so that could be why…
tfsculptures wrote:not trying to upset/mislead anyone here, just trying to help and spread some good luck.
Oh heck! Not upset! never upset! π Just commenting (cause I’m bored out fo my gourd at work… and now I get to go home! ::poofs!:: YAY!

I’m thinking the same thing… MAN I just SPENT $70 on the Ki-Rin and Dragon!!! I’m so broke. I’m gonna regret this… ARGH!!!
You guys are a bad influence! π
DUH!
Yup… I know… Mistress of the Obvious! That’s me! D’oh! π π
tfsculptures wrote:i personsally consider michaels to be a criminal institution, their prices are sooooooooo high is awful.
TOTALLY agree with you there… and they don’t CARRY it all! They don’t have ANY good pastels. Whick irks the heck out of me… then the issue with the masking fluid… ::grumbles:: Matte Board… the list goes on.
We used ot have a store, Ben Franklin Crafts… they were AWESOME… sadly… Michael’s ran them into the ground… so now they are gone… and I’m still depressed over it…
tfsculptures wrote:a GOOD, REAL art store will be reasonable, because they know their customers know how much the products are worth.
I disagree here… the one… professional art store… that carries all of the odd papers… markers… and other art stuff that only REAL artists want (not the random people who shop at Michael’s…) STILL gauges you. EVERYTHING is even more expensive there… than at Michael’s… and Michael’s has coupons…
tfsculptures wrote:another secret is if you have a college nearby that has a school of art in it, try to shop in their school store, they have good prices to be kind to the kids! π
Again… gotta disagree here… the ONE art store right outside out Art Department Building at the U of A… was WAY WAY overpriced. Sarnoff’s (the store I was refering to above) is cheeper than they were… Not to mention this dinky little college art store didn’t carry hardly ANYTHING useful… other than what the classes required you buy. Nothing cool… nothing fun to experiment with.
Honestly… I like DickBlick.com… and Art Supply Wherehouse better… Sadly you have to wait for it to be shipped to you… but they have it all… and for a decent price.
I’d just prefer to spend my more money locally… than have it shipped from an internet site…
Then again… maybe way out west… at least AZ… we just don’t have any decent art stores. π That’s entirely possible… π
skigod377 wrote:I went on a paint buying spree, too! What fun, though.
I need to… blasted Michael’s doesn’t carry interference paints. I need to go the more “professional” art store to get gauged on teh price for it. UGH!
Oh well… maybe I’ll check Joann’s to be sure…
Need more than my standard Interference blue (use it in Horse eyes…) need a green or red or something! π
HA HA HA!!!!
I’m thinking the same thing… MAN I just SPENT $70 on the Ki-Rin and Dragon!!! I’m so broke. I’m gonna regret this… ARGH!!!

We’re in the same boat! π
I have a feeling the painted ones, put up on ebay, will be popular and sell well…
GAH!!!
WolfenMachine wrote:In the photos, the eyes all look the same to me
That was my thoguht too… then I actually read the auction. π I was too excited at first… All of the close up pics of the single wolf are the STRAW eyes…
The only place you can see the other eye colors is the group shot of all four… π
Yeah… true… ::keeps her eyes on the auction…:: And they are so much fun to paint…
That would give me… a Ki-Rin, Dragon and two Wolves to paint… with the Gryphon almost done…
π― I have horses I owe people and here I am painting fantasy critters…. for myself and to sell… π I’m nuts…
This is so much fun though!!
