Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
I never know quite what to say when I first read these posts, so most often I don’t end up replying at all.
However, I do *read* them, and TDM I have been thinking of your family every single day since I first read your post. You have my prayers and best wishes. I know that what happens with your grandma will be “for the best” – I’m just sending you and your family lots of love and supporting energy to help ease your way through these events. Blessings to you all.December 29, 2010 at 5:57 am in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #708899Ok, regarding the 3-headed hatching dragon on craiglist I had posted on page 32, I finally sent the info to John.
I was intrigued to know, though… Pam, you posted that the factory has some of those figurines there! Does this mean John already knows about it, or…. well, like double rainbows, What does it mean?!? π
anyway, I hope it helps to keep Windstones as unique as they deserve to be!
I live in Scottsdale, AZ, which is part of the Phoenix conglomerate. I’d be happy to get more info from you when you have it (more specific location, for example π ) and there’s a good chance I could do your pick up. Want to pm me here and let me know?

While it is not a retailer or artist, it strikes me that the general design of the dragons and egg are strikingly close to Windstone style. It might be worth at least telling the seller they aren’t selling a Windstone: and at most, finding out the original manufacturer and doing something about the piece itself. I don’t know enough about copyright infringement to know whether the sculpture style crosses the W.E. line  but thought I’d just let y’all know.
Merry Holiday, everyone! :bye:
Awesome, eaglefeathers!!! Congratulations!
(And I’ll sign up for a holly for next year if I don’t get any this year π )
Happy hunting and holidays, all!!
A request: If anyone here who is also on Dragon Cave happens to have any Holly dragons, I would like to respectfully request an egg π³ I am happy to return the favor with any catches or breedings I can provide for you. I’m good at catching the ungendered rares (dinos, paper, chicken, cheese) and would be happy to give more than one egg in trade.
Please pm me here or on DC forum, or catch me on DC chat (my username is the same as here). Thanks, and happy holidays!!! π
ps- In other news, if anybody wants a catcher for the new release, same deal – pm me here, there, or on chat. I’ll be catching mine soon as they drop at midnight DC time, and I loooooove catching! So I’d be happy to get yours for fun!!
December 21, 2010 at 4:28 pm in reply to: Anyone Buying? If you are actively seeking a piece, post here…. #834138Looking for Rainbow Fledgling! I’d even be happy with something that has rubs and/or flea bites (prefer no chips, cracks, dents tho). Can pay all at once if the price is comparable to what they’ve been going for on eBay lately.
EDIT: BOUGHT ONE!!! Yay π It should arrive tomorrow, and is in excellent condition. I can’t wait!
Their last day of school before break was Dec. 17th, Lokie, but I’m sure it’ll be there when they get back to school!!
I got a nasty sick bug and couldn’t volunteer on Thursday, so I still haven’t had a chance to see what cards arrived π But I am keen to check them out once I get back in the classroom in 2011! Thanks again, everyone.
And yes, eaglefeather831 (and anyone else) if you’re coming down Scottsdale, AZ way, feel free to drop me a pm and let me know so we can meet! I always love putting a face to a name and meeting fellow enthusiasts!!
drag0nfeathers – why not use Rustoleum? (I’ve never used it, but I bought a can of it to use on some cabinetry hardware I’m refinishing, and if it’s horrible awful no-good very bad stuff, I might return it unused and get something else π )
Many, many, many thanks to each and every one of you who are sending a card!!!! I will be in my daughter’s class next Thursday (12/16) to volunteer and I can’t wait to see the cards that have come in π
I really appreciate it. *feels all warm and snuggly being a part of this friendly group* You guys are like fleece jammies, hot chocolate, and a toasty fire on a cold winter’s day! π
Thanks again,
Jerusha
I get confused with the curlies – is it the one with the head and wing raised, or the one with the head raised and the wing kind of looming over the crystal, or the one that’s all tightly wrapped up with the head laying down along the body?
Thanks! π (a picture would be great)
All I’d really ask for is a Rainbow Fledgie. Don’t get me wrong – there’s a bunch more stuff I’d loooooove. But I have a little rainbow “family” – Rising Spectral, Lap, and Young – right now that kind of symbolize my actual real life family to me. Spectral for hubby, Lap for me, Young for my older daughter, and…….. missing Rainbow Fledgie for my younger daughter!!!
Still kicking myself for missing out on the rainbow fledge that was up on eBay a while back, that nobody bid on because shipping was suspiciously high. If I’d been willing to bid on it first time round, could’ve had it for $70!! π₯ Now who knows when the next one will show up, or how much it’ll go for….. π
So yeah, I am hoping Santa and the Powers That Be grant me a Christmas wish of a surprise Rainbow Fledgie, so my little family is complete and true-to-life!! π
(And if they wanna throw in a Rainbow SK on the side, I wouldn’t complain.)
Greetings all!
I have a 5 year old daughter, Alegria, who is currently in kindergarten, and her teacher is putting together a fun little surprise for the class. I thought I’d post this just to see if anybody has a moment to participate.
The teacher, Ms. Corkle, had each child color and decorate a little paper gingerbread person. She had them displayed on the classroom wall for a couple of days, and then took them down, hid them, and told the kids they had all run, run away (just like the story)! Now, they are running all over the world, and people are sending the classroom postcards of “gingerbread sightings”. π
Anyway, I just wanted to post this here on the off chance that some of you who live outside Arizona, USA would have an extra few moments to drop my daughter’s class a postcard. The idea is that they receive cards from all kinds of places (you know, the touristy type cards that name the locale) telling a little summary of the sighting, something like this:
Hello, class! I heard your gingerbread friends ran away. I think I saw one today, at the______/in the ______ / doing _____. I tried to catch him/her but s/he ran away!
That’s just kind of a formulaic example, please be as imaginative and detailed as you like!
Cards can be sent to:
Sonoran Sky Elementary School
c/o Miss Katie Corkle
12990 North 75th St.
Scottsdale, AZ 85260So if you have a moment and feel inspired to do so, we’d greatly appreciate a little postcard π They’ve already received a few from different US states, and even ones from China and New Zealand XD Anyway, I know Miss Melody has fans all over the world so I figured no harm in asking if anyone would like to contribute.
Thanks, everyone, for reading! And my sincere gratitude for anyone who does send a card!!EDIT: I was mistaken, it’s not the cardboard cutout gingerbread kids the class decorated that are supposed to have “run away”. The teacher had 2 little stuffed gingerbread dolls – one boy, and one girl – and THEY are the ones who “ran away”. I have asked her if she can get me a picture of them to post here π
Most textures don’t bother me at all. But having to rub my bare hands across carpet repeatedly (like to loosen and gather pet hair) drives me NUTS.
