I’d like to enter please!
I’d like to enter as well please!
I would love to enter as well please!!
I’m not sure if it’s okay to ask – a lot of us have gotten excited about the potential of koi Qilins, to the point I think we;re all convinced they are happening next lol
But I’m wondering how Melody is actually feeling about doing that after, you know, painting 185 of them?
Hey windstones, I’m home sick today. Just saying in case you want to drop the Qi-lins as a get well gift
(I’m kidding of course, I know they’re not done xD)
If they do it exactly like the orientals – where they do split them but you can only buy one from one of the listings – I am going to have the toughest time deciding between koi and wild fantasy xD
I know it says the qilins have about 160 painted thus far; I wonder how many there will be by the end??
Getting a bit nervous for the drop tho, whenever that will be xD Hoping I can snag one
Looks like I get to update yet again!
1. Lynx point flap cat (Also looking for Black Sunset and Orange&White)
2. One of the following in Amethyst: Curlie, Lap, Mother, Mother coiled
3. Opoponox curlie with orange eye
4. Any model of anything that has a rainbow shade with bright-ish pink rather then red (A.K.A. something similar to the “Stained Glass” cougar that was sold individually)
5. Violet Flame Mother DragonFrom the comments about how to sell these:
Melody says that Susie didn’t like the “Special” section of the store – “Susie didn’t like doing that. She had to go through the ordeal of entering each individual item. Our website store isn’t designed well for that sort of thing. Too cumbersome. ( no worse than putting them individually on eBay, but eBay stuff usually goes for more $)”Maybe a modified grab bag – Melody says, “I’m thinking of having grouped grabbags, like all tigers but slightly individualized, like the babies. But still, then people will get a red tiger and want a silver tiger… hmm”
There were some other ideas as well, such as a raffle or voting on the colors to be painted, but a grab bag seems likely.
I mean, to be fair on the grab bag idea, I personally say do things in whatever way makes it easier for you guys – we can do the trading and that kind of thing if we want something else which tends to work out pretty swimmingly for most of us? Just a thought.
Curious: Is the official word on the street is that the hippogriff mare is permanently scrapped? I believe I remember seeing on FB that there were too many issues with the sculpt to proceed with casting and painting, but now I can’t find it so now I’m unsure.
The most recent post I have seen about painting the mother hippogriff is a test paint photo on December 10 (Melody’s Facebook page). Melody painted it in a lion/appaloosa pattern.
Melody said, “Test painted hippogriff. Painting wings is hard. I think there is too much stuff going on at once on this sculpt, but that’s what you are in for when dealing with hippogriffs.”That’s different than “We’re going to scrap the sculpt”, though.
There is a photo of the reworked head in February but nothing about abandoning the sculpt.
In March there was a photo of a casting. Melody said, “Hippogriff mare on her mold plate. I have redone her about three times! This is the final one I hope!”Maybe you are thinking of Melody’s comment about the standing hippogriff colts being difficult for the casting crew?
I tried another search – FB is so impossible sometimes, I swear – and I found what I was thinking of. It was an FB post asking about the PYO Pegasus – someone had inquired about a week and a half ago. Melody had responded to that person and told them that it was forever off the casting shelf due to detailing issues for the castors.
I somehow mistook it for the hippocolt mare (I mean they both have wings… that’s my excuse and I’m sticking too it lol).

Look like I can update my list – got a few that were on my old one! So:
1. Lynx-Point Flap Cat
2. One of the following in Shell Pink: mother, mini keeper, or mother coiled
3. One of the following in Amethyst: Curlie, Lap, Mother, Mother coiled
4. Serpentine curlie
5. Any model of anything that has a rainbow shade with bright-ish pink rather then red (A.K.A. something similar to the “Stained Glass” cougar that was sold individually)My pain in that I actually lost a contender to fulfill #3 and #5 this year. One day, one day…
As far as I know there is no rule that Melody can’t paint a second koi batch of a sculpt. She has done repeat versions of fantasy unicorns.
I know I’m going to be the odd one out on this – but I would love to see another GB koi batch of something. I dunno what model would work for them though that hasn’t already been done.
Koi curlies, maybe?I would really love a koi sitting oriental. I missed out on those. A batch of koi young oris would be nice too.
Also, I would love a batch of silhouette young unis. I wasn’t on here when they first came out, and the secondary market ones go through the roof.
Oh well in that case I agree, sitting Oris would be amazing, especially since there were no reds and not really any oranges in that set! Tho, I imagine the struggle with them is how large they are they probably take a lot of time to paint and pattern.
