I’m really disappointed. Not only that these are what I would consider an insane price (I wouldn’t even pay this much for an aftermarket unicorn), but because clearly Windstone didn’t listen to their customers who begged for 2 batches. At $360, to give us two distinct different types of unicorns in one batch and not give us an option? It’s insulting. I think I’m going to be sticking strictly to PYOs from now on, because this has all gone just too far. Sorry Windstone, you’ve outpriced me and lost much of my business.

I’d love very very much to see some Sugar Plum youngs in particular, and I get a little slap happy when I know Grab Bag Poads are coming out – but I really want to see these guys in more production colors! I figured that asking this far in advance for something that would be appropriate around Christmas would be enough time to mull it over 😀

Yeah… that was my fault >< I love that Poad, but I love being able to pay medical bills more – and on top of that, my cat got sick a few days later so I'm flat broke now! I'm really glad that Windstone was kind enough to let me off the hook – AND that they got a better price the second time around 🙂

For the longest time it was 10%…start the bidding at $100, or BIN for $110. Reasonable. Now if you want to sell a $100 item and pocket $100, you add 15%-20% for ebay and paypal fees so you can pocket what you want. So to pocket $100, you have to ask $110 or $120, with a BIN of $156…if your item is only worth $100, and you have to ask 50% more to break even?? ridiculous. To pocket $200 on my peacock old warrior, I have to put a BIN of $260!
I wondered if that was a new thing or not! I tried to put up a Poad for a BIN the other day and I would have had to have the starting bid FAR lower than I could afford to sell it for in order to make the BIN a reasonable price. It was really obnoxious.
I think there have been other attempts to make a model like PayPal – the problem now is that PayPal is SO integrated and so “trusted” by everyone, that no one is willing to sign up for an entirely new business. It’s seriously a shame.

I think this is good practice when mailing Windstones as well – I believe it’s been mentioned before that tags should be kept under the felt pads even for mailing because they can become stuck to the paint. Ugh 🙁 Do you think you’ll be able to refurbish that spot, or are you just going to leave her as is?

Please visit My Webpage to see my art and PYO's that I've done in the past!I don’t really have much by way of advice, but I can say that when I had an issue with my account once – actually involving restrictions that I thought should be lifted – the customer service that I got from PayPal was HORRID. Just like you said – they talk in circles, and they tended to be really condescending about it. When I asked to speak with the guy’s manager, even the MANAGER was condescending and rude, and basically told me he wasn’t going to do anything for me, despite me having a legitimate complaint. I was so incensed that I closed my PayPal account for a few months, and looked EVERYWHERE for any other payment company that would allow me to do business. I swear, there is nothing out there that is as easy and well known as PayPal, and that’s a serious shame. I’m certain this is why they have such awful customer service – they just don’t care, because they know you can’t go anywhere else.

I am feeling a bit better today. I went out and spent far too much money, but it’s all for her health so it hardly made me flinch – this is what savings are for, after all (at least until I can REALLY save)! I got both wet and dry food that is low in carbohydrates so that we can transition her first from the dry food she has been eating to the diabetic friendly dry food, and then eventually to the wet food only. It’s going to take some getting used to feeding her a few times a day, and I’m going to need the help of my family, but I think we can do it and things can only get better 🙂 I also did a lot of research into cat litter boxes and I ended up getting her new, open topped litter boxes and new unscented litter, and while I was setting everything up and mixing her foods and running around like crazy she just sat on my bed and yelled at me. I can only imagine what she was saying – “Why are you messing with my stuff?! I HEAR BAGS CRINKLING – GIVE ME TREATS!!” XD
I also did find her some treats that are 100% meat, and the only additions they have are vitamins 🙂 I OK’d them with the vet and Boo has already taken a shine to them – and they have the same crinkly bag that she knows, so that should be easy at least!

Sometimes I will watch something on Netflix – if I am trying to sleep, I try to keep it light and happy, so I can fall asleep to it if necessary.
If that doesn’t work, I play games – simple online games generally put my mind in a more hypnotic state, which eventually leads to me being able to crawl into bed and sleep!If all else fails, there’s always the Windstone forums ;D

If you order from them, you’ll want to get the flat back bird eyes ONLY, as the aspheric eyes (though beautiful) have profiles that are much too high to fit in most Windstones. I believe sometimes they work, but not in any of the PYOs that I know of.

However.. if you’re asking from a personal opinion standpoint, I think I would be less inclined to gamble THIS much money on something I could possibly dislike. I am far more excited about the fantasy unicorns than the safari, and if I were to spend around $300 and got a safari that no one wanted to trade, I’d be really frustrated.
My vote is split. I like having more unicorns so my chances of getting one are better.. but I really dislike that this is basically two VERY different batches put together. I know it might get boring to paint the same type of thing for a giant batch like this, but maybe in the future keeping them a little more like each other would be better – and this issue wouldn’t even be a question!
