Just received Black Gold and Black Sea on Tuesday. Love them both. Question, do the mother ki-rins not have shaped cardboard inserts? She came wrapped in lots of bubble wrap. Just curious.

I use the outer box to corral the smaller boxes. Makes it easier to stack them and find them in the attic. Of course the OW, emp, and R spectral boxes go in the attic on their own. I have even used the windstone boxes to corral some of my other small boxes (like tudor mint or anything that is just shaped styrofoam).
I want to know what it would cost to convince Susie to sell empty boxes with the cardboard inserts so we can get enough boxes for ALL windstones. I know the boxes cost them money and would be willint to pay that cost plus a little extra plus shipping to have boxes for all the larger ones.SO I have to ask: Just what is a Numbat?
For that matter, how did we get Poads?
(my husband says Parrot + Toad = Poad, but I want to be sure…)Thanks for indulging my curiosity.
Secret, if you think it was way to high a price,(not sure exact quote here), then why did you bid so high, seems strange people say pricae was high and wish they had done it that way.
Thanks for the list. You are not the only compulusive collector out there. I will compare it with my list this week and let you know if I find anything else you missed. Mine is based on the astralcastles list and what I have seen on the windstone store. Astralcastles seems to have stopped updating about 2-3 years ago, and I just found the windstone store in July so I’m sure there are several (lots?) of LP stuff from the store that I have missed. Thanks for helping all of us figure out what we are missing from our collections.
You are correct. It IS literally black and gold, and we couldn’t think of anything else to call him. His father is named Black Rose, and his mother is Black Sea.
So does this mean that “Black Rose” and “Black Sea” will someday make an appearance on ebay?
As for confusion with the black&gold dragons, the Peacock Orientals don’t necessarily match the Peacock (western) Dragons. Also, just having received a “Jade” Oriental Sun Dragon, it sure looks Emerald to me. Definitely makes the “Jade” scratcher look Jade (green w/ a tinge of blue) as compared to the Emerald scratcher and other Emeralds…
Also, the white unicorns sure don’t look like the white dragons.

Also, any idea of something like the “barn swallow” scheme will end up in the store. Please please please…I got our first 12 dragons (Mother, Male, Hatching, Young in Brown, Green, and Peacock) for my husband as a wedding present. (I got a custom VERY OOAK stained-glass unicorn from him.) We were married in April of ’90. Not quite sure how far in advance of the wedding we purchased them. At that time it was hard to find them and the stores weren’t always forthcoming on what they could get or when. That and being in and out of the job market made it hard to continue collecting. They spent a lot of time in storage. Picked up a few more including most of the black & white unicorns, the original four small flapcats, and two griffins. We are finally in a position to dig out the entire dragon and unicorn collection. For not having seen most of it for so long, there are suprisingly few duplicates. Now that we have the space and the money, we have been frantically trying to fill in the missing sculptures and colors to the point that the Windstone dragons have taken over one whole wall and now we have to find somewhere else for the other dragons and unicorns that were going to go there.
I have some curlies that need to be painted and now I have NO IDEA how to paint them!
Hmmm… I think restocking some of the old, sold out bright colors might be what I’ll do. The list is getting pretty long!Please Please Please restock the store (or take them down and stop teasing us 😉 Asking for:

These could be LP like all those various curlies that are still listed that are out of stock. These could be inexpensive and not meant to undercut the OOAK’s that Melody does. I want one of those some day but haven’t found a design that screams ‘mortgage the house for me’ – probably something with a dragon or a unicorn. Something will come along, but I probably won’t realize it until it is gone and then it will have to live on my wishlist.I wish there was some way to know what pebble cats were coming up. I like them, but would like to find a special one to get. To me there is nothing more frustrating than getting a OOAK that I like, that is nice, paying a lot, and then finding one that I like even better. Maybe I am strange that way.
