I wanted to share with someone today, so I thought I would share it here! We are adopting a new furbaby this weekend! I am so excited. I haven’t had it in my heart to get another pet since we lost my sweet Kas, but this fellow melted me the moment I looked into his big brown eyes.
Manfred Mann or Manny for short is a lab-St. Bernard mix, just now hitting 14 months old. We found him through a local place and just fell in love. He’s a big boy, already 96lbs, though the vet thinks he will top out around 125. You couldn’t ask for a sweeter temperament, he already adores our little blind Siamese Ellie.
And just because! Sleeping Manny. Yep he is named after the band.
I got a bit paranoid about things scooting last year and went and bought the foam like shelf liner in a roll form. I ended up cutting out the footprint of the pieces it would work with (nothing with too narrow of a base) and setting them on top of it. My husband bumped a table with an old warrior on it and set the table to wobbling but the OW stayed put. And if you trim it, you don’t really see it. Silly, but it worked for me!
We have a local one called The Crack Fox. Makes me chuckle every time.
I really didn’t think the theme was all that restrictive. I think it’s just how you choose to picture psychedelic mushroom. For me it brings up images of Alice in Wonderland.. thank you caterpillar, or the natural mushroom they are actually referencing. Why not do a trippy or outlandish pattern in normal or muted colors? It could be quite striking. I spent about half a second doing an image search on Google for psychedelic mushroom and there was scads of inspiration to be had, some of it in perfectly sane colors that would prove a fair challenge.
Just a thought. 🙂 It is amazing what people have come up with in the past, I bet this one will be no different.
I love the theme, there are so many things that could be done with it. You could count me in.
January 11, 2015 at 9:35 am in reply to: 11/5/14 Grab Bag Baby Poad picture thread (Hoppies and Hippies) #924082I’m so sorry to hear that! What a horrible start to your holidays. I wish you peace and healing through the new year.
Thank you for asking, I had meant to add an update, but it has been over the moon busy here the last few weeks. I am back to about 75 percent of normal movement, which the doctor tells me is pretty good as far as time frame goes. Slow but sure for the rest of it. The constant muscle twitches keep it fairly interesting but I am very much grateful that it was indeed Bells Palsy and not something worse. I am also grateful that my mouth was the first thing to come back! Oye trying to eat was quite a task when half of it won’t move!
Thank you so much for the card! I love the little guy on the inside.
I’m so glad it made it safe and sound and that you liked everything.
I was going to say, I love the gifts you got, but I am afraid they are not from me. 🙂
Mine ships out tomorrow morning, just waiting on one last thing to show up and tracking says it should be here by 8pm today.
I’m so glad you liked her, I was stumped for nearly two weeks on what to paint and stumbled across the picture that inspired her. I ended up painting her in two long sittings.
I just opened up my package from Branzyboo. The Indian Eagle Owl Griffon is beyond fantastic, the pattern work on the wings is perfect. Thank you so much for all the thought and time you put into him. I’ve decided to name him Indi. Not overly original but it just fits quite well. I will get pictures up tomorrow when we have some sunlight to show him off properly.
