Ok, I’ll try to stop biting my nails!! 😀

About how long did it take for your pieces to arrive?

I bit the bullet and ordered a piece from there. That was almost 7 days ago and I haven’t heard one single thing from them, aside from the automatic email they send when you first place the order.

Did you two hear from them promptly when you ordered a piece or did it just mysteriously arrive?

Now that I am getting better at dealing with the situation “mentally” for the moment, I am getting more and more mad at the people I gave the kittens to…. why didn’t they just call us to give them back is what I keep asking myself.

Without knowing the conversation they had at the vet’s office, the vet might have convinced them that this was best. If they were upset about this, or if the kids were there during this discussion, it could have been a very emotional scene; maybe they thought they were doing the right thing in the moment. It might not have occurred to them that they could simply give the kittens back. 🙁

I’m with you Hannah. Although I know why–something about that balance of primary colors blended together isn’t quite my thing as much as the other schemes. Reminds me too much of melted crayons!

I’m always a little relieved when I can pass on an ebay piece 😉 They’re all lovely but the ones I really fall in love with are waaaaaaaaay too ‘spensive! Like that new Kirin. Oh myyyyyy. <3_<3

Your heart was absolutely, 100% in the right place, and the fact that you’re so upset about this just proves that more. <3 Your intentions were fine, Drag0n. And I agree with what's being said–you're not financially or emotionally responsible for this.

The kids will be fine, too; it's ok to deal with loss. Losing a pet is a much kinder way to learn how to grieve than losing, say, a brother. Don't beat yourself up.

I think at this point, the only parties that should be involved in the discussions are the Cat Lady, the Family, and the Vet. The Family's beef is with the Cat Lady, not you. The Cat Lady's beef is with the Family/Vet's decision to euthanize, not you. (And yah–Cat Lady has no right to be upset if she was trying to rehome her kittens without bothering to vet check them.)

Please step out of the situation if you can and let the majorly involved parties come to an agreement. You have all of our support!! Please imagine a big group hug from us when you're feeling upset over it.

Did we ever do Orientals in White or Gold?

I have listened to some LOUD rants about how we should NEVER give red eyes to Oriental dragons! Apparently, red eyes are a sign of evil in Eastern mythology , and the Oriental dragon is never evil.
                      Western dragons, sure.

If that’s the case with the red eyes, never paint an oriental white. If I remember correctly, in asia white is a very unlucky color and/or the color of mourning, so to paint an oriental white would be terrible if you’re trying to be respectful.

Which is fine by me. White = least favorite of all production colors

My uncle married a Japanese woman whose parents insisted on a lavish, VERY very traditional Japanese wedding….. they both wore white Kimonos. ??

Congratulations Leigha!! That is so awesome! 😀

My two arrived Friday and I was just able to get the pics sized. I’m pretty happy with them both, but I’d be open to trades, I’d just be kind of selective, heh.

I took pictures in late afternoon and mid-day, trying to get all the colors to show.

The first is “Shade”, he’s a dark, metallic copper/bronze bay with purple/blue/black points. His eyes are light periwinkle and he has amethyst gems.

The next is “Paraselene”, a palomino paint with lots of pinkish-fuscia interference and DAPPLES!!!! He has light metallic blue eyes and sky blue gems.

At least if I am fated to get paints, I got one that perfectly matches my GB Baby! I would trade these as a set for this Uni below–I am crazy over it!

I have Shade and Paraselene up for possible trade. I’ll probably be a little selective though 😉 More photos are posted in the Fantasy Uni thread here, 4th post down.

Paraselene matches my GB Baby perfectly. I would trade these as a set for the right Uni, or the one in the photo below for sure. I am crazy over it!

I love all Oriental Dragons. 🙂 I’ve been waiting and waiting for the Adult Amethyst ones to be restocked too. They NEVER come up on the secondary market. Ever.

I believe that opposition (being screwed over) is just part of life, else how would you know good things from bad? There are always opposites – job, no job, kids, no kids, wealth, penniless… I think that what matters is how you respond to the situation and I think that it helps us to become stronger people. There was a piece of stitchery at my grandma’s house that said “If all of our problems were hung on a line, you’d take yours and I’d take mine.” I really do not like the opposites of good health at the moment… but I’m sure I’ll survive at least (don’t know about the rest of the family 😉 ) Does any of this help?

                              twindragonsmum 🙂

This is pretty much my philosophy.

Take what comes…and how you deal with it, and how it affects your treatment of others defines who you are as a person. If a person lets their trials and struggles cause them to harm or treat others harshly….or whether they cope with dignity and use what they’ve gone through to help others…either by gaining more compassion, or helping others in the same situation, can define how we move through life, and how we’re remembered.

This is what I agree with. The more I focus my thoughts on staying positive and accepting “getting screwed over” as a learning experience, the more I find that those thoughts are transformative and life starts going better for me.

It works negatively too. The more depressed I get and focus on how sh***y the world is, the worse life seems to get.

It’s not easy focusing on the positive and trying to find the good in what seems to be life kicking you down. It IS rewarding though.

Choosing to serve only yourself is not necessarily evil, and you can live a happy life serving just yourself….but I think that it is not nearly as easy (or maybe even impossible) to find true life fulfillment by pursuing a selfish path.

We went to our last reptile show of the year yesterday(boo!), and we mostly went there to get reptile food. We also came home with our first Silky Bearded Dragon. I’ve always wanted one of these and only recently have the prices become reasonable. Brandon got it for me as an early Christmas present. A Silky Beardie is a scaleless beardie, like this one:

I’ll have to get a pic of mine. It’s still a tiny hatchling, but they grow fairly quickly. I also need a name!

                                Mr. Bigglesworth!

Their new excuse for me is the number of transactions… I need 25 and I have 15. I only wonder… is this PER YEAR or a one time deal? If its per year I’ll leave. Its BS!

It was just a one time deal for me. I haven’t heard of anyone having to go through it more than once.

Paypal may have taken a look at what type of accounts tend to have the highest incidence of buyer complaints/disputes, and found that new sellers with low feedback caused the most trouble. Since a lot of time goes into settling disputes, it makes sense that they would try to safeguard buyers (and themselves) from the user category that statistically causes the most issues for them.

It doesn’t make it suck any less, but I wonder if that had something to do with it. Unfortunately it hurts honest sellers who are new or don’t do many online sales.
