THIS THREAD HAS ALL THE WIN
<3
As a little note also, I’d recommend listing your dragon in the Flea Market for the price you’re hoping to get, before taking him to ebay.
Ebay reaches a wider audience than the Flea Market forum, but Windstone is kind enough not to take 12-15% of your final sale fee when all is said and done, as ebay does. 😉
Thanks so much for trying with the ETAs, Susie!
They do seem to cause the staff so much stress. 😛 Maybe in lieu of an ETA, a day or two notice could be given once they’re for-sure ready?
I think that’s what people want the most with the ETAs–a little time to prepare, set aside the pennies, schedule to be home, etc.
So instead of “We’re in the process of finishing up this batch of purple hippos, we think they’ll be ready at this time” it can just be “We’re done with the purple hippos, they’ll be in the store on Thursday.”
If that’s still too problematic, just do what’s best for the staff! We still love ya. 😉
The museum I work for used to sell the hatching Protoceratops and Maiasaura years before I came on board. I wish they were still in production, they were apparently hot items in the gift shop!
The Protoceratops and Maiasaur are on ebay really frequently, if you don’t have those. 🙂 They are the easier dinos to find too, so you won’t have to shell out a pretty penny. I am working on the dinos for my sister, and I was able to get a Pro and a Mai on ebay for a reasonable price.
I think there are enough “Black with _____ accents” dragons, but the reason I liked the Aquamarine so much is because it’s more the reverse of that–a beautiful blue with black accents.
The black accents on this dragon roughly correspond to the placement of the purple accents on the Black/Amethyst dragon.
I like that he’s flipped. It’s a new take on black. 🙂 Feels fresh.
Todaaaaay?
I saw that one too, but he had more damage than this one. I think you’re right though, $150 might have been slightly too high. I thought I sold one for $150 a while back but I didn’t remember correctly. It was $110–but I priced him to sell. 😉
The Peacock color is pretty common, BUT it is a retired piece. It is hard to say what to ask for him, but based on the picture and your description, you could try asking around $150 for him. ??
What is really helpful when you want to get your full asking price for the dragon, is to take him outside in the sunshine and take the best pictures you possibly can of him. Many collectors will happily pay a fair price when the pictures assure them of exactly what they are getting. 🙂
A photo of the back, front, both sides, and the bottom of the statue, and closeups of his face, will really help sell your dragon for what he’s fully worth. Collectors LOVE good photos when buying!
He looks to be in nice shape, and the Scratcher is a popular sculpt. You should not have too much trouble finding a happy home for him. 🙂
Awwwww! At least he was trying to help! You’re not a bad guy for wanting your dad to have perfect cookies, maybe hubby is a little upset too that his happy plan to help you backfired. Would it help his bruised ego if you gave him a kiss and told him that you appreciate the thought? That was a sweet thing for him to think to do for you even if it turned out a bit of a mess. 🙂
There is already a Young, Adult, and Sun/Moon Dragons though.
What would the PYO be?
I’m thinking a newborn/pup…. 😀
Or maybe a juvenile like the PYO Ki-rin?
I’m really sorry this place has been stress for you, Dragon. 🙁 I gotta chime in on what’s been said–I love your posts and personality here on the board! Please do what’s best for you, and what makes you happiest. Don’t let bad (but probably temporary) feelings wreck your longtime love of Windstones! If you feel better I hope you’ll be back and till then there’s always PMs. 🙂
Take the best of care, and give updates when you feel like it. <3 I hope your kitty is still on the mend, and that life swings back into the positive again really really soon.
Blerg. Seriously. My mom and stepdad divorced and he made it as difficult as humanly possible for her.
He felt he was entitled to such-and-such Enourmous Amount of Money. He was legally only entitled to Extremely Modest Amount of Money. My mom offered him MORE than what was required as a settlement. He refused. She increased the offer several more times; he kept refusing and insisted on dragging her to court, which took 2 years.
EVERYONE except his young, inexperienced attorney told him to TAKE THE SETTLEMENT AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE.
But no, he was going to take my mom to court and get all of his demands.
So to court they went. And the judge laughed in his face, and he got what he was legally entitled to and not a penny more.
Judges seem pretty smart.
PYO Orientals? Go onnnnnnnnnnnn……
It doesn’t say in the store description they are retired. I would give some body pieces for a rainbow OW or Lap, so it would be amazing if you painted more. 🙂
Same, and it would be expensive body parts I’m willing to part with too, like a kidney or a good chunk of the liver!
😥 PLEEEEEEAAASSSSSSEEEEEE?????
Me three, More Rainbow Dragons, PLEEEEAASSSEEEEE?
Me four! MOAR FLEDGIES!
