“I’ll just get one…and see if I like it”
Famous last words before tumbling head first down the Windstone rabbit hole. 😉
But seriously, you have an amazing collection.
I’m sorry to hear that, Wolfen. I think if a seller discovers a defect/difference on their item and the listing has at least one bid on it, they have a duty to EDIT (not outright cancel) the listing and INFORM the high bidder of the issue. At that point the seller should OFFER to cancel the high bidder’s bid, giving the high bidder the chance to change their mind given the new information. The seller shouldn’t make that choice for the high bidder, and then not even give them the chance to bid again on the new listing.
I hope you find a ruby fledgling soon from a better seller.
Ooh, Kaytana, I love your new wolf. It looks great with the other matching pebbles.
Regarding people not posting their wolves, I think it’s sad if they are not posting simply to avoid trade requests. I’ve never had any problems with simply saying, “I am not interesting in trading” in a post.
LOL at Melody’s comment about tanukis. The face on that unpainted tanuki looks like some charming Disney cartoon character. I bet they would look adorable in ivory.
Thanks for posting those pics, btw.
So I FINALLY got both wolves together! 🙂 The black and tan wolf, Desert Wind, is definitely staying with me. The other wolf, who has a subtle LAVENDER blush, will be up for trade. I will try to take better photos of her, since I know she appears grey in the photos. Why does light purple seem to disappear in digital photos? I will have to figure out how to get Lavender’s true colours to show up on camera. Anyone got any photography tips?
Here is the whole gang of pebbles I have collected thus far.
These pebble canids are like potato chips; you can’t have just one! 🙂
My mother’s wolf (which became a late birthday gift to me, yay!) finally arrived yesterday. She is an absolutely gorgeous black and tan, like a really dark German shepherd. She’s in the first class photo, second row, second column. I would take pictures, but I’m waiting for my GB and ivory wolves to show up (today, I hope). I have named her Desert Wind, and I couldn’t be happier. She is exactly the sort of wolf that I was hoping to get. 😀
I’m usually pretty patient (really!) when it comes to waiting for grab bags to arrive, but the tracking info on my wolf is just ridiculous. It went from Portland, to Los Angeles, to Toronto, then BACK to Los Angeles (???), then on to Louisville, then Hamilton, then Toronto again. It is finally in Canada Customs. 😛 Seriously, what the heck? I think maybe my wolf got scared of the cold weather in Toronto and tried to escape back to LA. 😉
But on a positive note, everyone’s wolves look amazing!
I’m glad you are patient. I’m not. 🙁
My latest package has gone from Corvallis to Portland (so far normal), from there to Pennsylvania (Huh? This is new!), and then on to Chicago (also new). At least the box is making it’s way north. I know from previous purchases from other sellers in the USA that once packages leave Chicago, they really are pretty close to coming home to me. I just hope that the box doesn’t get stuck for a week in customs as just happened with another package.
I am enjoying seeing the wolves and foxes that have been shown so far. I did get a wolf on Monday, a lovely black husky, but I’m waiting for everyone to arrive before I post pictures.
**Edit** two packages left Corvallis. Same day, essentially the same time. Both went to Portland and on to Pennsylvania. One was routed to Chicago, the other to New York. Does USPS have any logic at all?
There are supposed to be two packages heading to my house (mine and my mother’s), shipped at the same time from Windstone. And guess what! They have taken separate routes to get to the same address, just like yours, Scathach. I have to wonder what has happened that USPS’s routing has gone so screwball lately. I don’t recall this happening before, or at least not to this extent.
Now I just hope that Customs passes our wolves through quickly and without tax and duty.

I wonder if that ignorant vet thinks the brindle cow posted earlier must be a pit bull too. 😛 I’ll have to post some shots of my brindle staffy when I get home.
Thanks for posting those Facebook pictures here, Kaytana. When I first saw the sitting fox in rough pink clay, I thought I could pass on them, but having seen the polished and painted form, I know they’re too cute to resist! 🙂
Regarding the grab bags that Windstone lists on Ebay, I feel like if people had their hearts set on getting one specific grab bag out of a batch of +140, they were almost certainly going to be disappointed regardless of where that piece gets sold. Getting upset because you were deprived of the 1 in 140 chance of getting your number one favourite straight from the store seems just a tad unreasonable, but that’s just my opinion.
I know we all get excited by looking at work-in-progress photos of grab bags, but it probably isn’t wise to become attached to individual pieces at that stage. Until we get an official class photo, there is always the possibility that some of those pieces won’t make it into the store for some reason or other. Heck, it’s possible that someone could bump into a whole cart full of grab bags and send them clattering to the floor in a hail of gypsum fragments (heaven forbid).
I think Windstone is well within their rights to hold back grab bags for Ebay that look like they got extra detail and attention from Melody compared to others in the batch. That said, if they are in the class photo, they should be included as part of the store stock, period. Pulling pieces for Ebay after they have been shown in the class photo seems like the only reason to feel misled.
Congratulations on getting your number one pick, Wolfen! I don’t normally like the ones with different eye colours, but that merle is absolutely stunning.
February 9, 2015 at 9:18 pm in reply to: Anyone else's GB wolves showing under your order page? #925368My order is showing up fine and I am receiving email updates, but I had my mother check her order and she is having the same issue as you, Chloe. I guess she will have to send Susie a message too.
Incidentally, if you have already heard back from Susie, did she say that your order wasn’t showing up at all, or that it was in their system and just a glitch that it wasn’t showing up for you?
UPDATE: I got in touch with Susie, and my mother’s order was showing up as “awaiting payment” even though it was paid. Susie was able to quickly sort out the problem and now all is well. 🙂
Those wolves are so nice! Congrats to you both. 🙂
I hope I get one like yours, Natasha. Alas, it will be a while yet before mine arrives in Canada, especially since it has shipped yet. 😛
