{pulling your hair out}type of undertaking. Any takers? Some of you have unbelievable collections and I,personally, would love to have pics of them. I can drool can’t I??**Gulp** Um…It would take alot more information than I have…I know more about retireds now than the “special” artist pieces out there… 😮
Hair pulling yes…I’m talking about bald here! XD
But, it would be crazy to finally have a magazine type catalog to go by with all those special little pieces in it. But you would never know an accurate count of each piece produced in each color for it to fit a collectors guide really. Unless Windstone has that paperwork stashed somewhere. 😕 But it would be a very interesting job to have keeping it all up. Perhaps even fun. I enjoy what I do when I get time. (Thank goodness the PYO’s are out of stock! I finally have time to sort through the mounds of papers and notes I have been jotting down.) :shout:

_______________________________________________Brave Firemen
One dark night outside a small town in Wisconsin, a fire started inside
the local chemical plant and in a blink of an eye it exploded into massive
flames. The alarm went out to all the fire departments for miles around. When the volunteer fire fighters appeared on the scene, the chemical
company president rushed to the fire chief and said, “All our secret formulas
are in the vault in the center of the plant. They must be saved. I will give
$50,000 to the fire department that brings them out intact.”But the roaring flames held the firefighters off.
Soon more fire departments had to be called in as the situation became
desperate. As the firemen arrived, the president shouted out that the
offer was now $100,000 to the fire department who could bring out the
company’s secret files. From the distance, a lone siren was heard as another fire truck came
into sight. It was the nearby Norwegian rural township volunteer fire
company composed mainly of Norwegians over the age of 65. To everyone’s
amazement, that little run-down fire engine roared right past all the newer sleek
engines that were parked outside the plant.Without even slowing down it drove straight into the middle of the
inferno.Outside, the other firemen watched as the Norwegian old timers jumped
off right in the middle of the fire fought it back on all sides. It was a
performance and effort never seen before.Within a short time, the Norske old timers had extinguished the fire
and had saved the secret formulas. The grateful chemical company president announced that for such a
superhuman feat he was upping the reward to $200,000,
and walked over to personally thank each of the brave fire fighters. The local TV news reporter rushed in to capture the event on film,
asking their chief, “What are you going to do with all that money?”“Vell,” said Ole Larsen, the 70-year-old fire chief, “Da first thing ve
gonna do is fix da brakes on dat f 😉 cking truck!”Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.You are right, but there are some fantastic pieces out there and what a great addition it would be for the collectors. There is such a variety of beauty here. The sculpts are just so many but the color variations are unbelievable. Some scuplts look great in one color but not as good as in another color. Some folks, like myself, like all the variety of colors. If I had my way,I would like to see every sculpt in every color in a book to admire when ever I want.Sure couldn’t afford the scupts but does that mean we aren’t interested in seeing and learning about them? I am interested in the Windstone company, their history, the inspirations of it all, etc. To me there is more to collecting something I admire than just having a scuplt to look at.This is more on the lines of what I ment and as a collector myself of different things,I think it is pretty cool to have a guide or catalog or whatever that goes along with any particular collection you may have. When you have a conversation with people about your collections, don’t you want to know what you are talking about? I wish to insure my things and I want to know as much about these scuplts as possible. If you don’t ask,how will you learn? 🙂

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.:hi: This is a great topic to discuss.I and a good friend both paint on different mediums.I sketch a little, air brush, paint brush, etc,my friend does ceramics. I have bought a few different air brushes and I think you need to find the one that you are most comfortable with, for the work you plan on doing, etc. Most air brush artist I’ve met have all said the same thing. You try a few different kinds and truly invest in the type of equipment you like best.Different strokes for different folks 😀 You can ALWAYS use more than one. Many times I have needed about six at once.I guess the pros here can give you better advice and info but air brushing than myself though.I find,it is not all that cheap to get set up if you want great equipment that will last. I started with a little “Artecs” doing galactic scenes and I was hooked.I purchased an air brush painting tecniques book on ebay that is very informative for a few dollars. It was put out by “Fuller”. Ms.Melody probably knows this book, she is mentioned in it also.Ebay has LOTS of air painting equip. of all kinds.Great “links”.Enjoy,I find it is a fantastic stress reliever and there is no such thing as too much beauty and art in the world.

Um no, the young dragon in rainbow is listed in Astral Castle’s Windstone Encyclopedia.
Ooopps!me bad.I know he is retired and I’m looking for a little more detail in the piece, that’s all. 8) I am very interested in all of the sculpts,so, I’m digging for as much info. on them as I can find.We ought to get something going and commish some one to gather as much accurate information on all the Windstones as possible and make a wonderful catalog, maybe a series of them, with photos and interesting facts about them.I nominate WindstoneCollector 😈 {don’t be mad 😈 }.Or maybe get a few of you collectors together. Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.The Castle [Dave wrote:“]My first thought upon seeing this poor Hatching Dragon was to wonder if it’s spent most of its life under water in an aquarium.
Or maybe it’s been played with by a puppy.
The damage doesn’t look deliberate or vindictive to me; more like just excessive wear and tear due to the environment (puppies are part of the environment too, you know).
Also, it’s vaguely possible that it never had eyes in the first place. We did once get a baby unicorn with no eyes and it took me, honestly, most of a day to figure out what was wrong with it, because we didn’t have another to compare it to at the time. I even had to pull up a photograph of one with eyes to convince myself that it was even supposed to have eyes. Of course, the Hatching Dragons have quite bulbous eyes compared to the Baby Unicorn, so it’s less likely that a blind one could be packaged and sold. But still?
blind uni ? Oh,how sad

I think Windstone was really trying to please as many people as possible. How many businesses care to do that? If they continue to do this, and I hope they do for the new things, we just need to come up with other ways to notify our friends. Email, texting and phone calls work. 😉
AMEN. Star you summed it up the best with this one. It seems to have worked very nicely, we just have to remember, back years ago, when some of us started there weren’t so MANY collectors. Now we have over 700 members (Some bots too maybe? but who cares about them) and there are many more out there that haven’t found this place, or just haunt it. 😉 (No, I too missed out on the Amethyst Curlies.)
It seems Windstone is getting closer to its restocking every day…Hopefully we can all be forgiving as things we want sell out and we have to wait again. Windstone tried its best to make us all happy, but with 50 items I don’t think they had a chance. But I give them an A+++++++ for their effort! Thanks to all of the Windstone crew and their time and patience they have with us! :yes:YUP! Without them,WE wouldn’t have them at all 😉
