Dad will be in hospital a couple of days. They think he’s leaking blood internally, just can’t find where. He’s had a transfusion but still more testing to be done.

So, an update on my dad… His doctors have found that he has cancer; a form of lymphoma. They’ve found spots on his kidneys and lungs. It’s highly aggressive. Went from normal bloodwork to near death in less than 2 weeks. He and mum were told that without treatment he might live anothoer 2 weeks; with treatment he could be cancer free in less than 3 years. Mum told him the decission was his and that she would support him entirely either way he chose. Dad has decided to fight so chemo starts today. They’ll keep him in hospital another week or se and then we see how things are progressing.

Thanks to all of you who’ve responded with cyber hugs and support and those that have pm’d and emailed. You don’t know how much I appreciate all your kind thoughts and prayers. Any continued efforts at good thoughts, prayers, etc. would be vastly enjoyed. Thank you so, so much for being my “other family” It means so much.

Go Dad!!!! Good luck with the chemo and one of the bests things is to keep a positive attitude and to surprise him now and then in order to keep his spirits up. Anti-cancer and good chemo thoughts heading your Dad’s way!

It’s been so crazy at work this week (end of financial year and guess who does the budget?!), I’ve only now managed to catch up on this one!

And although I’ve managed to track down every clue, I’ll have to join the “no idea” group. 😉

Can’t wait to see where this leads… 🙂

welcome to the ‘no idea’ club! we have badges and magnets for your fridge =D j/k

Yay! I’ll need a few of those.

Please don’t let him outside. It is illegal in a lot of places. Cats are killing songbird populations and it will mean much higher vet bills (for example, you will have to deworm all your cats much more often).

Edit: I mean don’t just let him wander. Keeping him on a leash or in a kitty pen are safe.

Also, does she have a lot of scratching posts/boards to mark her territory? Does she have places that she can climb up high? Make the tops of bookselves, etc available to her. Cats feel most secure if they can be up high. You can also check out some episodes of “My Cat from Hell” by the Animal planet. Amazon has episodes for a dollar or so each.

                Good luck!

It sounds like you are doing the best thing. Spending quiet time and trying to get her to come to you. If she is tearing apart your house, I would confine them to a room at night (removed of all windstones of course). If you can, try and tire her out with a laser pointer.

A product that has worked VERY well with my cats is Feliway. You can get a spray and a diffuser. It is synthetic kitty pheromones that let them know this space is theirs and helps calm them down. The cheapest place to buy it is on amazon. It can take a couple weeks to fully kick in, but it has helped my cats adjust to visitors and our new house.

Has she seen a vet since you got her? I find it odd that the two sisters would have such different levels of interaction. If you haven’t, take her to the vet, explain what is going on. Maybe she has anxiety issues? I would also contact the rescue and find out how she acted before you had her.

I think the picture looks a little funny, but then I realized it’s because I think the breed in general looks funny, so I’d say you pretty much nailed it. 😀

Yay! I will wait patiently and save my pennies for pretty birdie poads! Any chance you will do a grab bag?

Thank you Melody! Will you post pictures of your new creations (or send them to me and I will post them)?

Really makes you wonder about your decision making skills. If I goofed up the marriage decision so badly, what other important things have I screwed up?

People can be quite good at hiding who they are when they want. It’s not your fault and it’s possible that he has only recently changed into this person. You did not screw this up. Him being a douchy a-hole screwed this up.

there are still 44 left 🙂

Probably helps they came out on a workday afternoon rather than evening.

                                How did you get two?

Well, as soon as I saw they were in the store, I hit the Add to cart button. Then I thought, hey, why not check what the limit is, and it was 2. It might have been a fluke – I think I might have gotten the very first one (I’m home sick with the flu and that’s all I have to do today – no, I don’t have a like).

Now it says a limit of one, so methinks I was just too darn fast on the mouse and that my order will be ajusted accordingly.

It must be a reward for your fist check 😉

When the page came back up, I went to hit the notify button again, but rather than the notify page, it took me straight to the order page. I was 1/2 way through my order before the e-mail came out!
