Hmm. I can offer up some names we have given chickens:
Dandelion, Charger, Bluebelle, Doris, Cleo, Stella, Gracie, Susan, Crackerjack, Dusty, Zoe, Dot, Dash, Conrad the Terrible, Blue, Cass, Polly, Romeo, Maple, Mahogany, Edith, Gladys, Cadge (she’s a beggar), Yellowjacket, Ag (he’s a silver-laced Polish), Shoe (has a twisty foot), Thistle, Hairball, Flossie, PomPom, Checkers, Osa (short for One-Spur Andy), Valentine, Miga, Baron, Sonar (hatched without eyes),Hoppy, Magnus, Roddy, ABR (stands for Another Bloomin’ Rooster), Donna King (it’s the hair), Elwood, Loretta, Lucy, Quercus, Mottle, Alfalfa (it’s the hair), Halka, Crevvy, Nova, Ranuncula, Bucky, Arrow, and Truffles.
That’s not all of them, but it’s what I can remember at the moment. 😳 We’ve had rather a lot of pet chickens over the years.
Both of these are very nice! Snowy is like a study of shadows in black-and-white film, which makes those red eyes really pop; I also love seeing the central spines on the side scales accented. And Arctic Twilight is such a wonderful combination of rich blues and purples against the white belly! I particularly like how you outlined the belly scales with blue. 🙂
These are great! Ryu is a bold combination of colors shaded just right, and I see the little rims you put on the side scales–wow, nice touch. And Okopipi is absolutely cute as a button! The facial markings really accentuate the slightly drawn-down expression she has around her muzzle on the right face; it makes her look like she’s thinking about mischief. And the little halos around her spots are wonderful. Such nice work! 😀
Congrats, DM! That is one handsome dragon! 🙂
Welcome back, Draco! 🙂 Glad to hear that things are looking up.
I thought he was really pretty too. He had a wonderful combination of colors, and the white throat and tummy complimented them beautifully. 🙂
WHOA!! 😮 He is big and bold and totally unapologetic! What a brave big in-your-face fellow; I think he looks fabulous. It’s the fact that he’s in earth tones that saves him from being Too Much, I think. I particularly like the places where he has that dark orange worked in. If he were completely striped that might be too much, come to think of it, but the variance between spots and stripes is refreshing, if confusing to the eye! Which makes for a fun bit of speculation: is this dragon meant to blend in or stand out in nature? He could be rather hard to spot on leaf litter, kind of like an alligator lizard is. Nice!
A friend of mine got me started on drinking Sprite through a Red Vine, but it tastes best at the movie theater.
When putting brown sugar on my oatmeal, I always hide a lump somewhere in it.
When eating apples or pears, I eat everything but the stem. (Except that some apples have really bitter seeds, and those I spit out.)
I can take half an hour to eat a grapefruit or orange; I love the white pith, and will peel it off first. Then I go after each section of fruit, peeling the outer layer off and then eating the inside.
Ah, mystery solved! I like the way you make a Mad Libs out of questionable language in posts. Hmm, next time the replacement words need changing out, may I suggest these: “xylophone”, “existential bagel”, “paramecium”, and “doofus”? 😉
MY, that turned out beautifully! 😀 I really like the palette of blues/blue-greens/blue-purples that you developed here, and I’m such a sucker for rust and gold juxtaposed with blues and greens. The orange eyes are a perfect accent. Nice work!
Yup, I do double-check the label when spraying and try to give each layer ample time to dry. What makes me wince a little, though, is knowing that I don’t always spray during ideal conditions, i.e. the listed temperature range. And there was one piece that I sprayed during a long rainy stretch, which was really asking for it! So I’m going to be a little more careful now. 🙂
I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.

Yeek! It’s good to know about this, even though I’m freaking out a little at this end because I’ve been unknowingly playing with fire, spraying on too many clear-coats. Shall have to be a little more careful next time I spray a piece. This effect could be cool if used intentionally and on the right paint job, though.
Oh my freakin’ gosh-all-heck, that is GORGEOUS! 😮 Bidding’s going to shoot the moon on that one!
I guess it’s the same here. I love being able to search items (even if it’s hard to find the right searchwords sometimes). And I had no idea there was a “Save” function. Guess it’s a nice thing to have, but since I’ve never used it, I can’t say that I would miss it.
