Maybe if you tried to do some of the blending with antiquing?? That tends to look natural like drybrushing and might be a little easier…
I think it looks fine as it is, though…

-J R R TolkienI take CRUMMY pictures. And it’s not my camera’s fault – as far as I know I have a fairly nice digi cam. I would like to get nice proffesional looking photos that I can put up in the gallery with it though…
If anyone can tell me what sort of lights and backgrounds they use, and maybe something about how to properly USE all the functions on my camera, that would be awesome……
Right now the best I’ve got is a pillow case taped up on the wall outside in the sunlight. 🙁

-J R R TolkienI guess I’m just deeply impressed by the skill required to make something look so real you actually could mistake it for a photograph…I mean, for centuries art served the same purpose as photographs a lot of the time…I’m sure some guys back in the day would have given their legs to be able to paint like this dude!
And the one I was most impressed with was the sabre toothed tiger, which I guess does involve what You were talking about Nambroth – photorealism skills plus the use of imagination, since he couldn’t have had a photo of a sabre tooth to work from…

-J R R Tolkienyeah, I was thinking of bidding on one of the auctions, too, but NOT ANYMORE!! What she’s doing is just not respectful at all. She’s really taking advantage of Water’s very generous gesture. But I’m glad she’s finally put up some notice that they are in fact Water’s paint jobs.

-J R R TolkienOkie doke – her are some better pictures…better by a little bit, anyway. There’s different lighting in these shots…she’s tough to photograph! I really need to set up some kind of indoor photoshoot area with good lighting….
