My phoenix started off fall themed with the chest being red, orange, green, and yellow but I don’t know what happened after that… I kinda went a bit crazy :bigsmile: I don’t think I was in control after that, the airbrush did the rest of the scheme for me! I’m glad you enjoy him though.

I had about 3 different ideas for colors and patterns so I decided to combine them all in 1 somehow, I didn’t like how it was turning out at first but it just seemed to come together nicely the more I painted. I had fun painting my 1st Phoenix too!I mainly use air on my PYO’s and do the small detailed work with a brush. For me it seems that everytime I touch a paintbrush to it, I spend just as much time trying to touch up what I just painted lol
There’s no way I could paint a whole sculpt with a physical brush, it would look awful so I don’t know how some of the ppl here do it, but they do it very well. 🙂I’m in for my 2nd swap! I haven’t been on lately and would like to start painting again. Thanks DM for setting this up as always.

The only current games I play are RIFT for the PC and CoD: Black Ops for the xbox 360.
The end game content is pretty cool in RIFT, right now I’m trying to get geared up for the T3 dungeons and stuff (Which are very tough).
Whenever I get a little bored with RIFT I play Black Ops online with friends. I hate that game SO much, but I always go back… I can’t explain it.
I’m a decent player, but the game is just 2 random. You can shoot somebody in the head with a sniper riffle and they don’t die, then later you completely miss them by 2 yards and it kills them.. What gives lolWow Mi, he’s awesome! This is 1 of my favs that you’ve done. I love the “Midnight” look about him. Good work. 😉

I love the almost “metal” look you went with on the bronze, copper, and silver.
Great job!Yes, the black on the scales was done with a fine point pencil. I layed that down before any color, and put a thin layer of clearcoat over that. I think a fine point Sharpie would work as well, but you might not get the scribbled look like that.
Thanks Hannah! I taped some Scotch blue painters tape on some wax paper, then cut out stripe patterns with an x-acto knife then used that as a sticky stencil. ( There’s no way I could free hand that 😉 )
