Amstaff, don’t feel bad about your collection. I got my first Windstones (old green male, mother, and hatcher) together as a family waaayyy back in the summer of ’86. With all that time to collect, I still have 20 (I think, all packed up safe at the moment) pieces total in my collection, another 4 or so that were bought to sell. You get what you’re able to or speaks to you, and you love them as much as those who are able/willing to have hundreds.

Now…. I may have to try and get Excel so I can do-over my Windstones list so its more organized ! I currently keep a working copy on the notepad program , LOL !!

Congrats Amstaff! I know EXACTLY how you feel. It is nice having a new car that spares you some worries that an old car gives you. Insurance may go up…and you may have payments…but you also have some peace of mind. Though it stinks not having the extra spare money.
Yup, all so true ! At work a lot of my co-workers have Honda Civics also, but most of them have 2010’s… I have the newest model, a 2012 ! LOL ! Usually Im the one with the OLDEST car, not the newest, lol ! So this is a totally new experience for me, LOL! I can now use a USB drive to play my music off of… in my old car I had to burn CD’s, until my CD player broke that is and all I had was the radio….. And I can even upload pics to use as my wallpaper on my dash! How cool is that !? LOL! Ok ok, sorry, Im a bit giddy with all this new technology to play with, lol !
So, I have some good news, and figured since there is this “heck yeah” thread, I would share 😛
I got a new-to-me car on the weekend ! This was totally unexpected, I did not ever intend to own a new car anytime soon, and was going to make my older 2004 Honda civic last as long as I could. But my parents were visiting, and they stared worrying about me and my old car, and the ‘new’ noises that were coming from the engine. It may have been an easy fix… but then what would go next?
Anywho, long story short, my folks encouraged me to get a newer car so none of us had to worry any longer about my car breaking down, and then how I would get to work etc. With some help with the negotiations from my parents, and almost walking away when the dealership wasnt going to give me much for my car, we eventually got a deal that was good enough to say ok, I will get a new car 🙂 Thank goodness for awesome parents ! I may be 41, but I still feel like a kid when Im around my parents, and having their help means the world to me !! 😛
So, I ended up trading in my 2004 Honda civic for this 2012 Honda civic ! I have never owned a car that was only 3 years old ! I feel so blessed !!
Mind you, I now have car payments to make, and my car insurance went up some… so I have to watch my money more closely, and I do want to try and get this paid off as fast as I can. Its a 5 yr car loan, but Im hoping to get it paid in 3 or 4 years, if all goes well with work and such 😉 So the end result from this is me not being able to purchase as many Windstones as I have been…. I may have to miss out on some grab bags etc…. and my collection will grow more slowly.
But I wont complain, I have a new car, and I have a lot fewer worries now ! 🙂 So, “heck yeah!” 😀
Horrible, awful, washed out photos that do the Windstones in them no justice, and should never, ever, be posted. Yet, I post them as I have no motivation to try to take better ones. :p Missing from these photos are a gold Emperor, Black gold lap, and a red fox pebble which I got after that pebble group shot was taken. Plus a few pieces I have up for sale, so I have them boxed up.
What is that turtle looking thing? He looks very unique ! Is the tree coming out of his back?
And your meerkat ! I never knew they were so big, he looks life sized!
I hope everyone doesnt mind (if you do let me know and I will remove this pic). I made a collage of all the Baby Hybrids from Quest 18, just so we can see them together. May still not be totally accurate in colors, since everyones is taken in different lighting, but still… its nice to see them together.
Amstaff, your collection looks awesome! I think you are very lucky to have a black pebble wolf…among other things 😉 Your fantasy GBB Unicorn is wicked!!! I am a fan of the leafy patterns. Congrats!!!

Omg I love you guys so much! I think I will keep my right hand. It all does get easier in time. Just struggling with changing changing my mental focus to be here and now instead on the what ifs has been very hard.
In the last 2 years a lot of things have changed. Biggest is I got a job at a local bra boutique, so the majority of my time gets put into work and research on bras and what items can be brought in to better assist women’s needs. So I kinda work in fashion now and assist the owners with going to markets and running the shop. I’ve also started painting and drawing on canvas more then I used to. So a lot of things have improved. Biggest thing is that I have made some local friends who have made a big difference for me in how I feel about yourself. And then I have always had you all. Everyone here helped me so much in not only growing as a person but as a family type support. I love you all and I love this community. You all inspire me to create or to laugh. Without all of you even new members I know for a fact my heart would not be as full as it is now.

Im a newer member here, long time lurker 😉 Even though I dont know you, I can totally understand where you are coming from. Friends and a good network via social media etc can help in surprisingly awesome ways ! Over the years I have found many online groups of friends that have helped me deal with some stressful periods in my life, and it is so nice to have that support of people who understand.
So far this forum has proven itself to be very friendly and supportive, and it does feel like a little community. I wish I could reach out and give you all a big hug !!
Thank you guys ! I would love to have the female kirin and baby, to go with the male one I have, but Im finding those retired ones harder to come by for a decent price. Some day I will find him a mate 🙂
Slowly I will add more special pieces I know, in time 😉 I love seeing my collection grow, and funny to think it hasnt even been a year yet since I started 😛 It will be a year in June !
I do worry about my glass curio though… not sure how much more I would risk on those glass shelves. Someday I will need another curio Im guessing.
Does anyone else keep a working Windstone list, that they add to and subtract from, of the pieces they own, or am I the only crazy one that does this? When ever I get a new piece I note the piece, where I got it from, the price, cost of shipping and customs if I had to pay that to, and the date. I also list any fuzzy’s I get with the pieces they hitched rides with 🙂 Maybe Im a little too organized? Meh, I just like remembering things, and since my memory sucks LOL, I keep it nice and neat like this !
