I am very glad to hear it! 😀 (Even if you did have to use your sick time up. Which kinda sucks, I know.) But if it helped you feel better, then good that you took the time for yourself! 😀
The Crappie were around 10-12 inches. Really? They don’t like to eat them?! 😮 My dad would fall over from a heart attack! He goes to MN every year for a fishing trip just to catch Crappie. 😆 I like to eat bass, blue gills, red ears, and Crappie best. Small catfish are not unheard of for me, but small…Maybe a pound or so…Bigger around here is not always better when it comes to Catfish. Muddy when they get big, or late in the year. Bleh! :puke:
The biggest fish I ever caught, was a 19lb, 28 inch long channel cat. My dad still has the head on his wall (In the garage cuz it smells so wicked!) and I caught it 33 years ago. The darn thing was almost as big as I was at 4 years old! 😈 It was in the local papers complete with my picture. I got a note from the state senator then too. LOL My son actually has a copy of the newspaper clipping. 😳I caught my first Walleye! And half dozen keeper sized blue gill, and 4 nice Crappie. Threw back about 3 dozen blue gill that were small enough I could have brought them home and put them in a fish tank! 😆 Scott caught a nice bass, and a couple Crappie, and numerous blue gill again about tank size. 8) We both caught a hell of a sunburn too! 😡

*cough* I called out of work today 😳
Good for you! Piss on them! XD (Sorry my evil side…I’ve done it before too! 😈 )
MINI VACATION!!! 8)Adaneth wrote:Hopefully another PYO with 6mm eyes will encourage them to offer more eye colors for unicorns AND phoenix… squeek* squeek*
I certainly hope so….I know I want to paint one like one of my Mom’s birds, and he has grey eyes… 🙁 Plus, if you do a firy one…You”ll need red or orange or yellow… 🙄
PLEASE more colors of eyes for these guys!!! squeek*Awww…The pink pig look like she is blushing!!! 😀

Ok…Ok…I give up! You got me beat! 😈 XD
Ok, couple days later than I thought, but we lost the heater core in the truck, and it seems like time is such an elusive beast once one thing goes wrong…Although I admit to going fishing today after I sent everything out at the PO. 😳 (Still needing a vacation!!! 🙄 )
They are on their way to you. 🙂Ok…I’ve had a busy week, so today everything went out…Medley, the Ki-Rin is on his way to you. And Tyrrlin, the Griffin is on his way to you. Please post when they get there, so I know they made it alright. 🙂

True that! (Thanks again Frozen! 😀 )
Susie wrote:We had honeycomb cardboard inserts for the PYO Unicorn but they hadn’t been perfected and we stopped using them because we were getting breakage. This is why we have been using just the bubble wrap on them. No part of any of the PYO’s should ever be against the box wall without a nice layer of bubble wrap between it and the box. Is the bubble wrap scootching around in there? Are these animals frolicking in their boxes and kicking the covers aside? Do we need to tape the bubbles in place? Any thoughts on this?
I think the Griffin might have shifted around in the wrap, considering usually they are somewhat located in the middle. But the Uni I got that was rubbing, well I think it’s the horn popping through the bubble wrap more than scootching anywhere. Maybe the weight of the unicorn itself makes it able to shift and poke through (Because even UPS shifts boxes around, and all it takes is a fast flip or whatnot for those sharp little horns to go right through. Most of the bags they come in to me have horn holes in them.). I got one Uni with the cardboard inserts, and it was the safest feeling I had for shipping him off finished. I really despised sending the other one off without the inserts. I hope you guys can perfect those in the future. The griffins and whatnot, I can deal with adding a few extra peanuts and bubbles to when I send. Same for the wolves. I haven’t bought a muse, but I imagine if I ever have reason to, I will be perfectly fine with it when the time comes. I honestly think the Phoenix will be your most difficult challenge because of the neck and wings. Those you may want to perfect a box before you put them on the market…Just my 2 cents though. 😉
But, no really Susie, you guys do a bang up job most times with packing. The only broken thing I got straight from you was a Griffin who made it past inspection with a flaw, got bagged, tagged, and sent to me. Heck, I didn’t see the chip in his eyebrow until I had already painted him, and I always check first. Therefore, I cannot complain too much. (I just really miss the box with fitted inserts for the Unicorns is all. 😳 )
Oh, and I had my Castles of the Merry Ghost’s top spire snap off in a move, in it’s formed box. I am still not sure how that happened. 🙁 😕pegasi1978 wrote:Thrippa wrote:(How DO you get all that paper in there? Once I unwrap the sculpts, I have a problem getting JUST the paper back into the boxes!)
Practice! Honestly it does take practice. I’ve never had much problem with getting the paper back in the boxes, but that could be because I’ve had lots of practice over the years with unwrapping/wrapping fragile Christmas ornaments.
LOL! Yeah, well I can get the paper back in too. I find it is easiest to unroll, unfold and generally straighten it out as carefully as you can, then fold it in a way that makes it small enough to fit back into the box, stick the baggie with it, and wahla! Done. Then when you are ready to re wrap, or if you have need to wrap it back up in the paper, you just put it in the baggie, and unfold the paper and wrap it like a Subway sandwich artist! 😆
But, I have moved my Windstones 7 times since the collection got big enough I couldn’t fit the whole thing in one crammed up car load! (They stopped fitting in a 94 ford Taurus around 50 count…Last move it took 4 car loads. (Packed from seats to roof all but the driver’s side, and the trunk was stuffed…Tetris style! XDBarrdwing wrote:You might also like the eyes at Dreaming Tree: http://www.dreamingtreestudio.com The web page is actually a little out of date, and she’s expanded her selection of eyes considerably. Nice selection of colors; lots of fantasy-type combinations, but she also does eyes in more natural hues. She might be a good resource if the taxidermy site doesn’t have the size or color you’re looking for.
I second this! I love the eyes I got from her!
I didn’t know she had expanded the selection though…*tries to remember to go tonight when she gets back, and look for more eyes to order* 8)Jasmine wrote:I’ve had a couple of boxes where the tape starting to rip. Usually on the bottom…usually just one side…the thread was all that was holding that end closed. But I’m sure that is from the postal people. 🙄
Yeah, they can beat the hell out of a package can’t they? :negative:
😳
You bet! Glad it’s working now. 😉
Although I am confused on how I managed to help at all! 😈
