OK, Poadhawks are fabulous! And WOW–my fuzzies are pretty tame looking compared to those two!
January 2, 2013 at 12:30 am in reply to: 12/26/12 Batch of Grab Bag Young Poads picture thread! #890886Ooooh! Joliesdragons! I love that Poad! Congrats and I hope her new owner loves her too =)
I’ll still hold out for the blue and orange Poad next to her XD I love that one as well!
Oh, she does, believe me. That’s the only thing that makes letting go a little easier. 😉
I’ll bet that blue & orange is a stunner in person. It’s funny how easy it is to forget that no matter how good the class photos are (and they are), no matter how good our own home pics are, you just cannot capture the depth of these more detailed GBs. Even if you spend hours studying the class pic, videos, and factory shots, there are going to be GBs you don’t even notice until they jump out of the box and say “Hi!”
January 2, 2013 at 12:05 am in reply to: 12/26/12 Batch of Grab Bag Young Poads picture thread! #890882That tiger poad is just so gorgeous. If I wasn’t so burned out on stripes…! LOL
I know this one is on a few favorites lists. And I apologize, because this little girl was part of a prearranged blind trade; in fact, she will start her journey home tomorrow, so unless her new owner advertises her as available, please assume she’s not up for trade at this time.
I nicknamed her Temptation…because I so seriously wanted to keep her!
Windstone FB photo–note that her colors here are considerably subdued, but this will show you where in the class pic she is:
Since most of us have Campbell’s soup cans around, I figured that was the best way to compare and contrast all the shades of red and orange in her feathers and fur:
Under indoor lighting, the red really pops as closer to fire engine than the almost raspberry color you see here, and right now in basic reading light, the purple is nearly black–quite the chameleon! She’s absolutely gorgeous, and I think this is going to be the hardest trade I’ve had to let go of yet. She definitely has me thinking a lot harder about getting the full size Autumn Leaf poad!

He will be up for trade!!!
Cheetah-poad! (or leopard-poad, I always have to look up the spot patterns). Great catch! You’ll have no trouble trading that one.
Hannah, the postal website isn’t accurate at all this week; it’s always super dependable here, but two days in a row now I’ve gotten something that wasn’t due yet, while a package that should have been here days ago still shows in New Mexico. Go figure–it’s that time of year.
Anyway, REALLY crappy phone pic with flash, no less. I’m in bed with a migraine & it’s raining out anyway!
He’s the one at the very top of the store pic. Dark blue eyes & sapphire jewel. He’s gorgeous, especially with the metallic purple in his mane and tail, and the tiny fuzzy has green tinsel “extensions” in his fur. LOL Anyway, he’s awesome, just gorgeously painted, but for once I was looking for spots…I have two striped ones from the last batch. (Though he’d fit right in this way!) or pinks and purples, even with stripes. The one to the right & the one just below him in the store pic, for example.
[Traded–thanks!]
I’m amazed at the variety in this batch. I want twenty of them, all circled on my desk. Somehow I’m betting that won’t fly well with hubby though.
Can you imagine the looks Mignonne would be shooting you?
“I WAS UNIQUE ONCE!” she screams. XD but I feel you. Want. ALL. The poads. 😀Bwahahaha!
The frightening thing is, yes, yes I can picture this. LMAO
For those who have no idea what we’re talking about, Mignonne is the world’s grumpiest Poad. She’s out of the spring batch this year, and unlike all the sweet, adorable “almost smiling” poads that are out there, she has a perpetually cranky expression. This is her in the foreground, with her full size Black Peacock overseer behind for those who aren’t familiar with the size difference. The babies feel just a hair smaller overall than a baby uni, at least to me.:
And Kiya, my unis might be in danger too. At least, Mama Metallic Palomino might!
Thank you Susie!! I’m so glad that you guys were able to get them in the store without a hitch this time 🙂 I really like the calmness that this batch is going with – without people (including me, God knows!!) refreshing the store and waiting with bated breath for grab bags, the stress just melts away! Here’s hoping it was just as non-stressful for you guys at the factory!! Thank you for trying something new, and of course for being such an amazing staff <3
Ditto–although it probably helps that it’s the day after Christmas. And the last Poad batch went slower than the unis have too, didn’t they?
And Kiya, you & I almost always want the same ones. Why would this be any different? LOL

I never post “looking for ” posts for grab bags, but this is the exception.
I LOVE this Poad. I even picked out his eye color when I was at the factory last. If someone gets him and isn’t in love, please let me know! I’d be happy to trade a uni or poad for him.
You know I wuvs you. But I’ll fight you over that one! 😀
The variety in this group is astonishing! But, oh, the pics are trickling in so slowly….
*drums fingers impatiently on laptop, hoping to see more unicorny goodness*
Thanks all! I wasn’t sure about the idea but I thought it would be neat.
Opinion….do you think I should leave the lower parts of the legs white, or make them dark? I am not certain lol
And also, do you think the mane and tail should stay white or golden brown, or be darker?
Dark legs, golden brown mane and tail (my not-an-artist opinion).
I’m with Etruscan on this one–warm tones & not to much white.
Siri, you just keep getting better and better!
oh i wish i had somethign to trade for this one! lol! so pretty
Siri, he really is a looker. I honestly don’t know why I don’t like him so much more than I do. And I can’t help but feel bad about it–silly, isn’t it?
Briteblades, what a pretty one that is! So many different colors peeking out. I do think the shading and blending on this batch is just amazing. All the ones I’ve seen seem to have a little more muscle definition than my two safaris do.
All things being equal, I’d strongly prefer to see them as production (as they’re cute as heck and very modestly priced for a finished-windstone), but if the bugs absolutely can’t be worked out, I’d very much prefer to see them as PYO than not at all!
Just to be clear–I’d much rather see production too; the deep copper metallic red fox that was one of the early quest prizes is EXACTLY what I want. Or the non metallic red that was a more recent prize.
But given that this has been a problem for so many months, heck, I’d just as soon see you put them out into the world as PYOs, wash your hands of the issue, and move on with the eight kazillion other things you guys are trying to work out (like horns). Better to get PYO money for them now than to be unable to use the design at all, or for another six-eight-ten months while the kinks are still giving you fits.
Just a thought. 🙂
So I managed to put a grab bag in my cart during the madness, twice, but never could get to paypal at the end. But…Susie found my order! /worships Susie
Here is my perfect baby! He’s one of my favorites, the reddish copper is a little pink on his face, but not much, so he’s lovely!
These are all indoor with flash; it’s rainy and icky outside. Of course these photos can be used for the grab bag directory, but I will try to take nicer outside ones when there is some sun.How AWESOME that Susie found your order! That’s terrific! And he’s quite the looker too. LOL Glad you got just what you wanted.
It was (mostly) dry here when I got up (sun won’t be out for six months, this is as good as it gets), so I managed better pics of mine while I could. His ad is up in the classifieds. (Hannah, permission to use in the directory granted.)
Full album with larger pics: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjD8bKKiWell…I got the exact same one I got before. Only in blue. Definately going to try to trade this one. Really want one of the rainbow tigers, or even a marmalade or other type of tiger from the safari batch. This one is pretty, but I really am not into appy spots. (even though that seems to be all I get!)
I have to laugh, opal, I know how you feel–last time I DESPERATELY wanted stripes in the worst way. And I got them–there are two in the cabinet right now. I was ready for something different. So what did I get this time? MORE stripes! LOL
Yours is really pretty though–a blue version of my tigerloosa from the last batch.
*snatches wee little girl out of Hannah’s hands*
MINE! LOL–What a little beauty she is!
Seriously though, the post office is just a nightmare this week as far as updated tracking goes. It’ll only get worse next week, I suppose. And better to have the boxes arrive safely whenever they *do* show up than to have an updated site that reads “damaged in transit”–got one of those from UPS this summer.
