    HAPPY BIRTHDAY Star!!!!

in reply to: Happy New Year!! #522238

Well folks, my first act of 2007 was to jump out of bed and step directly into a puddle of cat pee left by the new member of our family, Mouth. Thanks kitty. Off to a good start there.

The rest of the day was decent enough, though. I hope everyone had a nice start to the year!

Hey Chessie! Any New Years Resolutions?

You have to post this here, walk into the living room and tell me that you asked me a question on the forum in order to get an answer? I’d say you’re lazy, but you DID have to walk in here in order to notify me… so… I guess that either makes you incomprehensible or just really bored. Hmm.

Anyhow, to answer your question: My New Year’s resolution is to come up with the perfect resolution for next year. It will be witty, well-worded, and most likely a pun of some sort.*

    What’s yours?

*I’ve obviously failed at it this year.

This had to be the best Rose Parade I’ve ever seen! They had three platoons of STORMTROOPERS, and EWOKS, and DARTH VADER running around! I mean, dude, that was so awesome I nearly peed my pants! Normally the Rose Parade is neat, but boring. This time totally owned, though. The dragon float DID breath fire (we were watching channel 5, I think). Both dragons plumed out flames. It was great.

Did you guys know that they start putting up all the seats and stuff like a month and a half before the parade? The archery range we go to is right around there, so my dad and I are down there two or three times a week, and they start putting up the seats at the beginning of November. It’s mind boggling how much work goes into this parade.

I think socks are universal. 😆

    D: I didn’t get any socks.

I DID get books. Lots and lots of books!! One about Finland from my bestest friend (who lives there), The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke and a book on male angels (from Vannie!), some other ones from her, a wizard book, a fairy book, and a leatherbound journal that is just AWESOME. I also got a pocketwatch (it’s my baby) and a Swiss army knife, and a replacement Hellsing bag, just like the one that was stolen. 😀 I’m so happy to have it back. Also, I got huge fuzzy slippers. I think that’s everything. Oh, and I got like four humongous candy bars. Heeee.

well as it has been stated here everyone has different talents. I’m not sure I would EVER want to try a PYO because I would not want to deface one of Melody’s pieces of art that way.

You never know until you try! I bet with a little practice you’d be able to paint one quite prettily.

I have come to the conclusion that Suduko is utterly and completely beyond my capabilities to comprehend. Therefore, I shall now saunter off, repeating over and over to myself that I am good at other things, and try not to think about that horrendous number puzzle ever again.

    Sankyu.

Merry Xmuss, Ski! And a Hoppy Noo Yeer!

    Lalala!

What’s in the cage? Your tree is so pretty, and the kid and dogs so cute!

Hoo! That’s a good idea! Just… rent it. Why didn’t I think of that?

    Hey guys,

Religion is possibly not the best thing to start discussing on here… we don’t want to alienate everyone. You know how religion and politics can be rather touchy for some (or most) people. =)

    Thanks!

Also, Vantid! You listened to the Abhorsen trilogy??? Just the other day I was asking you about it and you said you hadn’t! Tsk…

No, I haven’t! I listened to the first long ago, you know that already! I just downloaded the second and third yesterday. I’ll listen to them when I’m done with Inkspell.

Oh, ok. Iii gotcha. You will LOVE Lirael!

They just announced the title of Book 7 – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows! And I heard a rumor (completely unconfirmed that it is coming out July 7th – the 7th book on 7/7/07!) But that may have been made up by rapid fans such as myself

Really! Wow! So if that rumour is correct, then next July will be NUTTY so far as Harry Potter goes, because that’s when the 5th movie is supposed to come out, right? Dang…

as every year, though this year I really hope for it to get to an end:
    finish writing my novel

Sigh… that was my resolution last year, and I never did it. Instead I started another one. D’oh!

My resolution is to not make any resolutions.
hehe… its my resolution since 1995…. heheh… yes I am slow… but its a loooooooooooooong book, with many twisting plots and critterzoids.
Even a group of betas that poke the needle in my butt every once in a while for continuation cant really help. All I know is that artist/freelancer and bookwriter dont really go hand in hand. Especially if you dont use your book artwork for the market (who would) and you keep believing the freelance molah is good for the day of publishing.
Oh well, see you here next year? shall we note down our word count? which I not really can as I am “reworking”…

Nothing wrong with being slow! Some things take time. And I suspect we’ll both be here next year, but you never know. Good luck with everything. I’ll buy a copy once it’s published!

As an aside – how can they not have Peter Jackson direct The Hobbit???!!!! I was horrified when I saw that they were looking for another director. Although it seems a lot of people had the exact same reaction so there may be hope.

What? What!? They’re making The Hobbit???? Oh my gosh! I have not been a proper fantard! But Peter Jackson isn’t going to direct it…?

    *sob*
