I would love to see a photo of the fantasy ones also, if it’s not too much trouble.

There seems to be two kinds; gentle fantasy, which is leafy shapes with some metallics and interference paints… and then there is the AAAAGGGHHHHH! fantasy ones. They are brighter.I know we never know the exact price or release date but just curious as to how far along these little guys are? If we should be looking for them this week or maybe next week. I know that’s a lot of eyes and horns and little pads to put on 🙂
The koi batch is getting eyes and horns now. I wanted to have the fantasy ones ready to go in the store at the same time, so folks can get both if they want and save on shipping. I haven’t finished painting the fantasy ones yet.

Ok great. Thanks for the update. Are there still around forty of the fantasy ones or more? I can’t wait to see them, they sound like they will be very bright.
For budgetary purposes, would you mind giving us an estimate on what these little beauties will probably cost? My eyes say “who cares”, but my wallet says otherwise. 😉
We don’t get prices (even ranges) before the Grab Bags hit the store. Its my understanding that John and Melody do last minutes calculations do come up with the price. It all depends on how long it takes Melody to paint them and a dozen other factors…save high and hope for the best is my plan. Its part of the fun of anticipation for Grab Bags 😉
One thing I tend to do if I want to save for a grab bag is look to see if the piece has been released previously in another color and price up from there. The standing Kirin colt was previously released in albino for $60, so you’ll need at least that much to start with. Based on past grab bags and descriptions/pictures of the kirins I can easily see the grab bags being double (or more) the “original” price.
Ok, I admit it. I know I said I don’t really care too much for the koi-rins but after seeing their picture I have to say I like their look. But I don’t want to chance getting a piece that’s mostly white. ^_^;
That being said, after hearing the description of the fantasy guys…I GOTTA SEE THEM. They sound AWESOME. Hopefully I can avoid missing this GB.

Melody – thank you so much for the update. I was wondering just what fantasy could mean in the ki-rins and hearing that leafy shapes will be included on some just sealed the fantasy for me – I love the leafy shapes you have put on poads and unicorns in the past. Definitely will be trying for one of each now. *******hush budget – be quiet**********

Thank you so much for the update! Can’t wait to see them! Will these be announced via email before they’re actually listed in the store? Oh, I do hope so. I don’t get the chance to be online as much as I’d like and the pre-announcements via email for the grab bags giving approximate date/time of listing has been the ONLY way I’ve managed to get previous grab bags. I’d hate to miss these lovely ones!!

Not really thrilled by the koi-rins. Maybe the fantasy ki-rins will be more to my liking. I also put in a vote for a group shot of the fantasy batch!

Yeah I was thinking I would be sitting this grab bag out, but based on the picture of the kois and the description of the fantasys I hope I am able to get one of each! I hope the store announcement works – wonder if it will be announced beforehand or after they are in the store.
I’m just so glad these didn’t hit yesterday! I was running an event for 60 and I did not sit down from 8m-7pm! If the fantasy ones aren’t done…maybe next week? It feels like this week might be early if they are releasing both batches at once.
I can’t wait!
