On the “Windstone Editions” Facebook page Melody has posted a couple of photos of knock off Windstones compared to the real thing. She was thinking it might be an ongoing series.
This was the first “Knock Off Monday” post on February 7:
Melody says, “Knock off Monday. The little unicorn on the right COULD just be coincidentally similar to my sitting young unicorn, on the left, …until you see the box he came in. It shows knock offs of the entire Windstone Editions unicorn family!”
The second “Knock Off” post on February 14:
Melody says, “I was going to have ongoing ‘Knock-off Mondays’ where I would show some of our collection of Windstone Knock-offs,… but this subject seems to make people crabby rather than happy. Do you want to see these? -or is this just irritating?
There were a couple different Circle of Cats candle lamp knock-offs, this is the box for one of them. I don’t know where the actual item is. Knock off on left, Windstone Editions cat circle on right.”People who commented said that seeing the knock offs was infuriating, but also educational.
I reported those concrete copies to Susie who forwarded to John. I also messaged the Seller directly. Augh.

“Infuriating and educational” sounds exactly how seeing these knock-offs makes me feel…..
I feel protective of Melody’s 🦋 genius and sculpts…so not amused by said knock-offs …
But my Grandmother used to say:
“ imitation is a sincere form of flattery”….
But said knock-offs are for monetary gain; that’s NOT OK, in my opinion.That isn’t a knock-off but a repaint of an original Peacock Male Dragon.
