Finally finished Hephaestus God of Blacksmiths! I was thinking of leather and metals for painting him. I spray painted him krylon silver hammered and hand painted everything after. Silvers, gunmetal, golds, browns and bronze. I wanted the hammered metal look on his body. I had made a masquerade mask with the hammered metal spray paint and loved it. He has marigold eyes by Dreaming Tree Studio ♡ which remind me of molten metal, lava, etc.

January 5, 2017 at 7:34 pm #1518148Hephaestus is just as beautiful in person as in your pics! Thank you for sharing your talent.

January 7, 2017 at 2:16 pm #1518412I totally missed this post! Ah!
Anyways, beautiful Hipp! I can totally feel the inspiration in this guy, I really like the stripe of color on the scales. Looks like GardenNinja has another awesome Hippocampus to add to the herd, or would it be Pod? Or maybe school? A School of Hippocampus?

February 3, 2017 at 6:18 pm #1519857I love that burgundy color with the highlight of Fuschia, so rich! Also, whenever I think of Dionysus, I think of that scene near the end of Disney’s Fantasia with the donky-corn!

Not currently open for PYO commissions.February 3, 2017 at 7:22 pm #1519862The burgundy colors, like you said, are just incredibly rich and blend so well with the beige and yellow palette. Another stunning piece, you should be proud of this little line!
Finding happiness again.
February 3, 2017 at 9:57 pm #1519876Thanks guys!!! Ooh I need to rewatch Fantasia…It’s been forever! The violet colors really change in different lights. I used golden paint permanent violet dark and quinacridone violet on the tail along with interference violet. In some lights it looks dark and others make the quinacridone really bright.
