It’s interesting looking back on here and seeing everyone’s stories. I didn’t realize there were lots on here in their 20s and 30s. I am 30 now. Since the last time I posted on here just over a year ago, I have managed to acquire a lot bigger collection than I ever imagined. I went from two dragons about a year and a half ago to now about 80 different pieces including the dragons, unicorns, pegasi, kirins, poads and griffin chicks. Most are smaller pieces so I have most of them packedninto my curio cabinet but I ran out of space a little while ago so some have overflowed into my bookcase and on the fireplace mantel.
I remember when I first started seeing Windstones in Abington’s Animals (which a couple others mentioned before) in a local mall around the time I started collecting beanie babies which was probably between 1995 and 1997. The peacock dragons were the first ones I loved and I managed to get a fledgling and young dragon back then. I remember seeing the rainbow dragons too when they came out and was awe struck but didn’t have more money to get one then so have been searching for them ever since. I didn’t buy any other pieces until I discovered this site last year after searching for Windstone dragons online. I manged to get a rainbow young on ebay and just in the last few days finally managed to find a rainbow fledgling I could afford so it’s on the way to me now! I am excited!
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
February 9, 2014 at 1:24 am #908613I’m going to be 35 in March. I can remember being in LOVE with the unicorns as a kid. But I never got one. On my 19th birthday my boyfriend got me my first Windstone it was a peacock mother dragon. Now he’s my husband and I have 84 (I just counted) Windstones! 🙂
February 10, 2014 at 5:49 am #908669I am 34.
I don’t remember how old I was when I saw Windstone Editions for the first time, though I know it was sometimes in the late 80’s. It wasn’t till probably around when I was 13 or 14 that I got my first ones, two small flap cats (Crowley and Aziraphale, black w/white bat wing and a siamese bird wing) for Christmas. My collection never grew very big, just a few pieces I got for the holidays (and three I bought with allowance money) from a place that closed down quite a while ago.
It wasn’t till recently that I started collecting again, but I definitely never stopped dreaming of Windstone!

And now we also know that you read GOOD OMENS. 🙂 Great names for those two cats!
April 4, 2014 at 11:15 pm #911086I still think I am the grand old lady I’ll be 74 in October and I bought my first 2 Windstones in 1986 a brown male and female. When my Brown Emperor arrives in a couple of weeks that will make 176.

April 8, 2014 at 4:31 pm #911227It’s definitely been a year or two since I was here last, so I am 24 now, making me one of the younger collectors I think haha. 😀 I now have a much bigger collection than I had before at eight pieces! It’s a small collection but it’s a good one and I’m proud of the pieces that I own. 🙂

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.April 8, 2014 at 7:10 pm #911240I will be 24 on the 12th.
I first started my collection with a black gold mother dragon and wolf male griffin my parents bought me when I was 16 (I think it was 16, could be 17, it was a while ago 🙂 ) We got them on half off since the store was having a moving sale, which was the only reason they bought them for me. I was so happy since my parents have collected the dragons since before I was born and I can always remember admiring them and wanting one of my own.
Looking for-

I’m going to be a member of the ‘Double Nickel’ Club later this year – so I’ll be with you Bodine! 😀I didn’t start collecting Windstones until last year, June 2013. My first Windstone was a Brown Mother from eBay, and I love my ‘Navarra’ to death!
My collection has grown to 26 Production/Special pieces (two are in transit now), and I have 11 PYO pieces in various stages – four painted by Forum members, and the rest are mine (completed, started-in progress, waiting in box). My Windstone Total = 37 as of now.

April 20, 2014 at 6:20 pm #911741I only recently became aware of Windstones while searching for “copper patina” in google images. I saw one of the mother dragons in copper patina and went “What is that?!” and just had to investigate. I have now obtained a few dragons. I am 24 and intend to be collecting Windstones and dragons for a very long time.
April 20, 2014 at 9:13 pm #91175132 now, got my first Windstone when I was still playing with my little ponies and was immediately awe struck. I remember my brother got me my 1st one, and Emerald Male and everyone was like “Don’t give her THAT!? She’s too young! She’ll just break it!” Well, he’s still flawless and I still have him today. He was “my precious” LOL! Once I was old enough I started buying them with all my spare money (who needs clubbing and drinking when you were a teeneager? Mot me! I had Windstones to buy!) and still maintain the habit today. ^_^
Got a busted Windstone?
