Here is a comparison pic of the buckskin color and the Przewalski’s color. We are going to put a few of each into the store tomorrow, but I don’t think I will paint huge numbers of either of these two colors. The high contrast of the black against the light body of the Przewalski’s is … Read more
The dragon on the left is a new dragon . He is about the same size as the the “Young Dragon” (the dragon on the right) As usual, we don’t know what to call him! We are looking for a name for the mold, not an individual name for the dragon, like Arthur or Fluffy, … Read more
I hate August. Too hot and too many zucchinis around. To compensate for my foul mood, I refinished a beautiful little Young Oriental dragon as the August prize. This is “Redbow”. He is a young oriental dragon with a tiny dent in his belly scales, but he is otherwise a gorgeous “red fire” piece that … Read more

This is the first test paint I did of the NEW hatching dragon. This little guy will replace the OLD hatching dragon. The OLD hatching dragon is almost impossible to paint quickly enough for us to afford to sell it at a reasonable price. It has so much “edge” area where the different colors have … Read more
The female foo dog! She is pretty much finished! Marco, our mold maker, will now begin the production-mold making process. This takes a little while, it involves both replicating many rubber molds from the finished “master” , and creating precise rigid “carriers” to support the production molds when they are filled with liquid gypsum. Sit. … Read more

I painted a batch of ocelot griffins. These are for the store, limited production. What color eyes should they have? Real ocelots have dark brownish-olive colored eyes. These griffins look good with periwinkle, or orange or brown or beige or, Pam will kill me, but green too. None of our eye colors match the metallic … Read more

I was planning to give the baby meerkat wings. I photoshopped one to see how he’d look.
The raffle prize for this month is “Pinkwater”. Pinkwater is a blue and pink hatching Empress dragon. She was an experiment using metallic pearl pigments. This caused her surface to be a little rough in places because of the particles in the paint. She has blue and pink speckles on her eggshell, a light blue … Read more
