Probably the entire line, since the poses were similar. But maybe we can beg for different colors of the baby orientals, they don’t look like they’d be as hard on the molds…
Speaking of, this guy was a PITA to strip paint off of, and then get cover onto the ‘sun’ and such…
I think they’ve mentioned that the ‘current’ oriental molds were too hard on the gypsum with all the holes and such (as compared to the rather solid poses the other dragons have). There’s talk about a future PYO, but I’m pretty sure all their remaining blank orientals were given test paints and are being auctioned.
Pegasil978 – He has a new ‘custom’ felt pad, since the original was destroyed while I was stripping his original paint. And he’s been signed all proper, so there’s no way he could be mistaken for a factory paint if you can see the bottom.
Jasmine – A small bottle with a marimo ball in it. I have a ton of them, and that’s one of the babies. <3
Kyrin – Ah right, so you got the blue sun. As close as it may be, it’s purely coincidence, as I’ve wanted a blue sun with my ruby one for a long time. Not like I saw yours and wanted a copy, blue and gold is a pretty common color combo.
If anyone remembers, I won a horribly broken Oriental Sun Dragon a little while ago. Well, I finally finished him as of this morning. <3
(disclaimer, or whatsit: he’ll never be sold, and will just hang with my small personal collection. Hope this isn’t a problem)
He’s dark blue with teal hueshift along his flanks, with brass scales on the belly and back. His fur is a mix of red underpaint and a gold/brass mix. Since I’d had the epoxy out anyway to save/reform his tail, I raised and pointed a line of his scales along his flanks, and also some on his nose (all the raised tips are spotted in gold). Here’s a closeup of his back, along with a smaller photo that shows his colors better.
I’m so happy with him! And now my ruby has a counterpart buddy. <3
Charlie, after one of my fav gypsy vanner studs. I like how he turned out. Random note, I know what you’re thinking. But Dem, why didn’t you antique those white feets!? Well, the real Charlie’s feet are so fluffy, like a puffy rabbit or something. So I only liiightly shaded it to make the kirin look fluffier. <3
It’s hard to see, but something’s wonky with his right eye. Like the pupil didn’t get painted, or something. Oddly, I think it’s really cool. Maybe I need to make him an eyepatch.
I remember a while back you mentioned you might be doing some PYO orientals… I was just wondering, are you going through with that? Planning/sketching/sculpting/something/anything/etc? Any idea of if the face will look more like the ‘plain’ oriental or the sun dragon (I like the Sun, myself)?
Normally I’d just leave things be and practice patience, but I just wanted to know because today my little betta died…
Photo of Roxas the fishI’m so broken hearted, and if you recall the old asian story of koi turning into dragons… I’m really wanting the PYO asian dragon now, so I can paint one like my fish.
Thanks for any info, and all that. <33
Just replied to it, sorry it took me so long! I was really busy yesterday and this morning.
Bump for edits, because two of these guys are on ebay now! <33
I know it’s been a million years since I said I’d list these, and I’m SO SORRY!!! But they’re up now! <3

http://cgi.ebay.com/Windstone-PYO-Winged-Wolf-Smores_W0QQitemZ160201288825QQihZ006QQNam- Oooh no, don’t worry, I already know what to buy and use from my experience with my PYOs. I was doing a quick lookup before I start stripping the production paint. I was pretty sure I knew what I was dealing with, but wanted to double check before things got messy. <3
He’s that busted Sun that I won off ebay recently. Way too damaged to try keeping the old paint job, so I figured I’d paint up a blue to get snuggly with my ruby sun.Ah cool, thanks! I tried doing a search but couldn’t find mention of it. n_n;
Out of sheer curiosity (and to help out my repair job on a dragon with a shattered tail), exactly what paint are you using on the production Windstones? Acrylic/oil/laquer/enamel/etc….? Any brand name would also be an extreme help. <3

Actually no, despite the fact that I love koi dragons and just posted my koi PYO. n_n; Are there photos you could link me to?

So, that ebay winner of the broken oriental would be me. To my defense, despite the fact I was home for thanksgiving away from college, I was using every day to work on a 12-16 page paper, and my 6yr old guinea pig had just died, so I wasn’t exactly in the mood for being on the forum, you know?
I’ve been wanting to repaint a sun to be with my ruby, couldn’t justify paying retail for something I’d strip and repaint, and then this broken guy comes along like a sign from heaven. Wanted him just as much as you. I know the whole upset-fest is already over, but I got a little insulted reading the thread up until now. Instead of throwing an angry response, though, I’ll just say all’s fair in love and ebay. Sorry I didn’t check here first, and honestly sorry you didn’t win, but you can’t just call an auction and expect everyone to hands off.
