Dragon87 wrote:I’m confused as to why this is such a hot topic? People buy things for their own reasons, whether to sell or keep. From the pictures, the wings kinda looked flame-like to me (I believe I said gas flame) and if they look nothing like I was expecting, I’ll probably try to sell or trade. Does that make me a bad person, for selling or trading something that I decided I wanted, but then it was completely different in person?
Or even someone who bought with the intention to sell. It’s a free world. You can’t say someone’s wrong for trying to turn a profit. It seems a little unfair to those who didn’t get a curlie – but, I hate to break it to you, life’s unfair. I hope that’s the worst injustice that you face.
And like it was said earlier… beating a dead horse here. Can’t we just leave things as they are, without getting all pissy over a…. statue? Windstone is trying to be fair to everyone, but I don’t think we’re really being fair. It’s a lot of work to even do what they are doing. Limiting sales, putting out multiple batches, sending email alerts for those on a waiting list? Why do we expect more from a company that’s already done more then what they need to do to keep sales (because we all know that if they just put them out, didn’t tell anyone that they were out, and didn’t limit sales, they’d sell them just as fast. So it’s not economically better for them to do this other stuff. If you factor in time, they’re actually putting in more effort for the same price).
I think we’re really lucky to have people like Susie, Melody, and everyone else at Windstone. And I think we all need to remember that.
*goes into hiding to avoid things getting thrown at her*
Amen. I was tempted to get a curlie when I saw them in the store, because I knew there were people who were going to miss out, and then I’d be able to get it to them. Then I got hit by the thoughts of: 1. there’s probably going to be several people who want it, who would get it? 2. maybe I should not get one, since I don’t collect them and let the collectors have first crack. 3. If I *did* get one to resell, would I be opening myself up to resentment? I did like the “one per” rule for the first batch, it allowed more people to get a curlie that wanted one.
I, too, have missed out on store items (like the beagle griffin family). When that happens, I go 🙁 for a brief moment, then continue on with life and check either the Flea Market/Trade&Swap or eBay in hopes that the item I missed will pop up someday. Sometimes it’s worth the wait. 🙂
Windstone bends over backwards to try and keep us collectors happy. I try never to forget this. 🙂

GAD! Look at all those guys! (The pic of the marching pyo griffins)
LOL! Melody, I didn’t think you’d have time to notice those guys! All but a few are painted by other collectors on the forums. There is 17 finished and the fire Griff up front is my WIP.
Thanks for noticing all the forum members hard work that I preen over all the time! 😀 I hope to collect from everyone who paints them on here one day. (Although I will definately need more room for them!) Infact I sent out my last Griffin blank so I could have a Snow Leopard. 🙂(Now, I am trying to catch up on forum reading. I honestly didn’t remember posting in this thread until I reread it. Now how embarrassing is that?)
But, if you can swing it, I’d still like to see something small in AL like a Fledgie…I could maybe afford one of those. 8) If not, I suppose I better get my butt back out there and get a higher paying job…If I could find one. 🙄You want one from everyone who paints them? Really? o.O

Oh, oh, I’ve an idea! You can let your boy strut his stuff, and I’ll let my Colored Sunburt strut too, and we can let her decide? 😉
And my Prairie Falcon male strut *his* stuff. 😉

Did you write back anything to that Zyrowski guy, Tyrrlin? Tell him you already received the griffin and what the *ç%”# does he think he’s talking about? You wouldn’t get an answer, of course…No, I didn’t write back. I figured the account was probably hacked.
True… Do you think the owner of the hacked account knows about it by now? Otherwise writing back might alert them to the fact.
I hope so. However, if I write them back, would I be opening myself up to more spamming emails? It’s a thought before I decide whether or not to reply.

Unfortunately, griffins are mythical. Whether or not they’re benevolent depends on the legend, or author of your preferred series. I like to think they’re the good guys, myself. 😀

I know that I can see my name on my end, but I assumed it was hidden from everyone else. It seems to me that I didn’t know who won the Prairie Falcon until I saw the thread with him pictured the other day. But even then, I don’t know your user ID. But what is the scammer trying to accomplish by doing this–are they trying to get you to send the money to them, instead of Windstone? It seems if you use the “Pay Now” from the listing itself, it couldn’t possibly go anyplace else but the seller. But yeah, I have learned that compulsive liars like to be very elaborate in their stories (such as the having to use the daughter’s ebay account, and that ebay won’t let seller contact winner after auction ends, blah blah blah 👿 🙄 :spank: 😥 XD )
The more they talk, the bigger a hole they dig! XDI think they get the username from the feedback lists. I don’t leave feedback until I have item in hand, so maybe that’s when they were able to peg on my auction… and the amount. Maybe there’s a “cutoff” amount before they try to go fishing for money. I just hope we don’t see more “Prairie Falcon Griffin #1” on eBay again any time soon like we did with some of the dragons. That got insane after a while.

So’s the sketch, though when I first looked at it I thought the griffin was holding something nasty by his thumbs and forefinger… 😆*laughs* Maybe it’s polished Poad poop! LoL XD
