mimi, this is ancient history now, May i think, lol! ha ha! waaaaay too far back to do anything. i don’t have any hard feelings either, :), things happen sometimes, i’m just happy i have it as it is still a nice piece regardless..
i’ll be back in a couple hours, i need to get my b.f. a balloon for his birthday tomorrow!! lol, he has to have one, but its a surprise! what a goose! 😛thanks DM. by the way congrats on getting your little fledge!! that is FAST gratification, it arriving in just a couple of days! 🙂 if only it was that way with every seller every time! i just got a hatching peacock emp. and a peacock young oriental, and it was agony until they arrived!!!
anyway, i’ll probably go for the good cat candlelamp thats on ebay now, just so i don’t miss out if it stays a good deal. i’ll get karens opinion too when i get a chance to message her. 🙂 thanks!woo hoo! thanks guys for the info about the pen either today or tomorrow ; i’ll be going to two different art stores, so one of them should have it. thanks! i can’t to touch up my nicked pieces- thats more exciting!!
yes, that eye is REALLY glued in there so i probably should not try to pick it out.plenty of extra glue around it so its well set in there.
in regards to returning the item to the seller, i hindsight now i think i should have done that, but at the time i had the attitude of ” this is my cat candlelamp i’ve been given (by the windstone gods, lol)each one is an individual, and i should just deal with it and be grateful”. i turned it on my other mantle i had it on at the time, so i couldn’t see that eye, it was still there but not bad. i have since moved it around the apt. and it is just too visible when i try to light it any place else, plus i really shouldn’t have to display it in profile, lol. a shop keeper probably wouldn’t have noticed, for someone who isn’t up on them would’t see the space unless they lit it. (u can see that it isn’t set right when it isn’t lit though.)
also, the seller was a forum member and i didn’t want to start trouble or hard feelings, because i had yet to enter the forum, and i didn’t want to possibly be known as “that anal person about the cats’ eyes that wanted to return it” kind of thing.. also on that note, since another windstoner sold it to me, that they must be ok selling it, since i think they said they lit it up to check the true eye color (and had to have seen the off eye, unless they held it at just the right angle maybe), that it wasn’t that bad by other peeps standards and i should deal with it.
i know windstone likes to keep after their quality, and replace damaged shop pieces etc. (which is very generous btw) and i figged either way it might be a more windstone-in-the-end issue, since if i gave it back to the seller, they might take it back to the shop, then they give it back to windstone, lol. i thought i’d do it more directly, to save people trouble. i think thats it in a long winded nutshell, lol. i am a professional rambler, btw.yes, i’d love to get on that list too!!
oh, i’ll have to find out what product they use EXACTLY -i just might try touching him up if i can find the exact thing! i think i saw it mentioned somewhere once before, but boy i don’t think i’d find it again. wasn’t it a paint pen or something? i have a couple of other nicked pieces anyway, so that would be great for touching them up too! thanks for helping me feel like i’m not totally nuts about the eye thing. 🙂
gosh, i would love it if they would replace it as i can’t even light it cuz it looks silly. i kinda think they would want it out of circulation since its really like a “second” too, but you never know. i do have the original box……
heck, my OW is missing his gold accent detailing on his hind end and several other places, i have all the luck!!! i didn’t know it til i compared it to others peeps ows when i did color comparison, i was like hey, where’s all my gold accents!? darnit!!! i am curious how often this happens, but thats is the nature of having things done by hand, everyone is human.
anyway i took a couple of blurry pics with my dying camera, gives a better idea of what’s going on. the gap is the yellow crescent moon shape on the upper right side of the right eye. enjoy and laugh, poor cat! its like a cross eyed siamese, especially since its eyes are blue! lol!
[/img]i will be able to get better pics in the morning, but its a start. i was able to push a match clean through the gap no problems and pull it out the back, its about that wide.
well this has been bugging me for a while and i couldn’t sit on it anymore. i was almost going to put this in the ask melody section , but i didn’t want to trouble her with something miniscule like this. anyway, i got a good cat candlelamp on ebay and when it arrived i saw immediately that it had a mis-set marble eye, it wasn’t glued in far enough forward so there is a significant gap that shows even when its not lit, but when it is lit it is unbearably off! ack! theres a big old gap you can see clear through to the yellow glow from the flame behind.
anyway, i didn’t know if other peeps had this problem, if the eye socket was just a little tight for the marble and it happened here n there, of if mine is just “special”. it looks way too bad to be lit, so i either thought i would try to chip it out, breaking the glue, but not the marble, as i have good tools, or just break down and buy a whole new one. id hate to do that though as money is tight and i want to have the $$ for the new pieces.
any suggestions from windstone staff or collectors? i know i should get a pic, but its kinda tricky to really capture on film.i was refering to the dragons in particular. i just realized i didn’t specify. i love painting them, they’re such fun, except the inside side of his tail by his belly! ack!!!
oh well, 😳 i was just curious to see what they all looked like to see if any particular eye color jumped out at me in combination with the piece (that i didn’t initally consider), for a totally new color scheme. i knew i wanted red and yellow eyes, but now i am kind of tickled by arllas’ big pyo with those lilac/pink eyes. those eyes could look so pretty with so many different paint jobs, but i never thought i would have liked those eyes until i saw them on the piece!! thats all, i’m being greedy and i shouldn’t be 🙁 , i just couldn’t help myself, i’m just all nosey excited about all the new options!
sounds good to me!!! horse tail huh? that is sweet when it matches your hair, looks good! i’ve seen some neat ones on ebay, plus i saw lots o peeps at king richards faire sporting those. do they kill the horsey for it like they do for a sheepskin? i imagine someone was going to do him in anyway, some weird peeps love eating horse, hmm, lol. or leftover from premarin factories. i don’t have a problem with that, as i have a bird wing collection myself (all natural causes-roadkill and cats, lol, hmm ,sort of natural with the car, oh well) just curious.
yes i do get some good company on here, its been making me a little perkier lately, but my b.f. is getting jealous they i have been on a bit! we had a big to do about HIM chatting too much, but now its me! ahh, he needed a taste of his on medicine though, lol.January 11, 2007 at 11:33 pm in reply to: Many PYO Eye Colors! Eye and size photo comparison #527563hey watergazer! any chance you could indulge us curious folk and do a line up of the eye colors you have and share a photo with us? that would be so great to see what they look like, plus it may help any possible commissioners for you by giving them a starting visual to work off of! so what do ya say, huh, huh? btw, thanks for letting us know in general that they’re available.. i’ve been waiting so long for a red eyed one!!
oh in college i was right near shrewsbury too- i was in natick/framingham and you are right, the art/ handmade thing wears off there, but its worse yet in r.i.!! i don’t now what it is with peeps out here, you’re so trendy material, new commerical bling thing, gaudy italian ( no offense to any italians out there) or oh so ghetto. you were a rare girly if you didn’t have some sort of cosmetic surgery, esp a boob job. its a shame!! im just hiding in my house here in bristol til i can move, lol! i don’t leave my oasis.. if i do i always come home screaming in terror, lol!
ah ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa! thats right where im from! id hang out with my friends all the time in great barrington lol, the dude in white knight record shop has scammed every teen in n.y and eastern ma. on cd trade ins! lol! everyone has a tale about him! ha!. the catskills are beautiful, etc. i am from ghent, near husdon, catskill ,etc. i have ALWAYS done well selling my work back there, peeps really appreciate it there! no problems ever with custom orders aplenty. ooh, rhinebeck is awesome too ! woo hoo! i LOVE it back there and i want to move back, but my parents are in love with r.i., god knows why, and i have concerns about moving away from them as they age….n.y. rocks though! woo! well, maybe when my b.f. and i are ready to buy a house we will. 🙂 nice to meet ya!!
september 8th .. gotta love a virgo!
dragoness, adult ultra food comes in 4.5lb. bags ~ 8.99 17.5lb. for ~26.99 and 35lb. ~ 38.99 thats about the going price online. it rarely goes on sale anywhere that i’ve seen, but the regular natural choice does all the time. a popular natural choice formula if you have trouble finding the ultra or if its too expensive is their lamb n rice small bites. its popular with folks with little dogs, we sell out of it every week in about five days, and we get a double batch weekly! that goes for 5lbs for 7.99 20 lb. for 19.99 and 40 lb for 32.99 those are just average prices from petco… a mom n pop shop may have it for less. p.s. online prices for petco or petsmart don’t necessarily match the physical store, as shipping to the store may be tacked on, but you will pay more for shipping to your house for heavy food, so call around close to you, see what they have. i’m out to go run errands but good luck in your quest. ps. your pug may get pudgy on the ultra, but see how u do! 🙂
