Hey all. I haven’t been around for quite a long time, I’ve been trying to avoid even thinking about Windstones, with how broke I am, because it just frustrates me that I can’t even afford PYOs right now. 🙁 But I got one today anyhow, because the Windstone people are amazing! 🙂
I hope I’m not letting the cat (or I guess the fuzzy) out of the bag, but Pam contacted me the other day to see if I had fur scraps for fuzzies. I certainly did, so I put together a box of nice scraps, and swapped them for a PYO unicorn, yay! I drove down to the factory with my boyfriend to do the trade, which was also pretty neat, though they’re not really up and running yet. I wish I hadn’t had to move. 🙁 Turns out I could probably have walked from my old house to the factory in about ten minutes, but now I live a 45 minute drive away. So sad! But still close enough to visit every so often, I think. 😀
So now I have a new PYO. No idea when I’ll have time to work on it, but I know what I’m going to be doing with it. It’ll be very awesome!
And now I’m back on the forums. I’ll have to go update my art threads with everything I’ve done lately, though there’s a lot of it since I last posted!
Not much news other than that though. The cats are fine, the snakes are fine, the boyfriend is fine. Business is a little slow, but I’m behind anyhow, darn move messing things up for me. Life is pretty decent though, other than the being broke thing. Anybody want to buy a Loonakit?
I got an 88. But I’ve known for some time that my color vision was quite poor, so that didn’t surprise me any.
Interesting test though. It was nice to be able to quantify the degree of my bad vision. 😀
Hopefully I can remember what I have and haven’t shared already…
Kali loves to burrow under my fabric. Ron finds this fascinating.
They look like they’re fighting, but they’re just playing.
Tari is above all this silliness. (A rare shot of all three of them.)
Bonus photo. Kali being unbearably cute.
Well, The Smell (it definitely deserves capital letters) eventually went away, so Ron isn’t Foul Ol’ Ron anymore. 🙂
But he’s turned into Ron Wheezy instead, poor guy. The first surgery went very well, and he recovered nicely. His head tilt is all gone. Unfortunately he seems to have grown the polyp back though this time just the part in the back of his throat and not the part in his inner ear. It makes him sound funny, especially when he snores or purrs. So he’s going to need surgery again eventually, though at the moment I’m putting it off because it’s not affecting his health. He’s very healthy and active (a little too active maybe, he knocked JJ’s Lego Star Destroyer over the other day, and that thing is HUGE, it made such a crash, and such a mess!) And since I’m really very broke I’m putting it off a little, though of course I’ll take him in immediately if he shows any signs of distress.
From all I’ve read nobody knows why polyps grow, and nobody knows why they sometimes grow back and sometimes don’t, so it’s possible he’ll need regular surgery to remove it periodically for his whole life. 🙁 Hopefully not though. Guess I’ll find out.
He’s grown a lot, he’s already getting huge, and he’s not done yet. He’s going to be a monster eventually. He and Kali are buddies now, they wrestle around all the time. And even though he’s bigger, Kali usually wins. Tari has started to tolerate him when he’s holding still, but if he starts running around, she hisses and chases him off. And then sometimes he’s just a brat and chases her around instead.
Well, the novel is all posted, so anybody who didn’t want to wait and read it in bits can go read the whole thing now.
I’m currently doing a short story, with two more short stories after that, and then there will be another novel going up.
I’m also doing some selling. Anybody who just wants to read it all in one go, rather than wait for it to post a page at a time, can! $15 will buy you all three short stories and the novel.
And I’m selling character insertions, to raise a little extra money. There are details on the story website. http://bladespark.topcities.com/story
The company’s website shows the toy as still for sale though. 🙁 I hope the “recall” isn’t just a PR stunt of some sort and that they just forgot to pull it from the site, but it doesn’t exactly fill me with joy to see it still there. I also have to wonder about their other rubber dog toys that, although slightly differently shaped, still have that same single hole in them. Theoretically they could be just as dangerous.

August 21, 2008 at 9:37 am in reply to: Getting out of debt. Emerald Prototype OW on more day #728194My best offer right now is $600. Just sayin. 🙂
One day before I call it good and pick the best offer.
I have a friend who goes by “Vorn the unsqueakable.” It’s one of those long stories. But Vorn is a Cthuloid, a tentacled, winged, Elder Horror from H.P. Lovecraft’s universe. And I’ve been wanting to do him as a pony for a long time. Actually I guess I’ve been doing him as a pony for a long time, this has been a work in progress for many, many months. But it’s done now!
More photos are in my gallery here:

I’m back from my little vacation, and am still taking offers.
August 15, 2008 at 9:36 pm in reply to: Getting out of debt. Emerald Prototype OW on more day #728191Thought I’d say I’ll be out of town for the weekend, so if anybody makes an offer or has a question, I’ll get to it as soon as I get back. 🙂
August 14, 2008 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Getting out of debt. Emerald Prototype OW on more day #728184Well, much as I hate to give up this guy, I hate being in debt more, and the only other thing I have left to sell is my fledglings, which no way am I selling those!
Anyway… He is a prototype, not just a regular emerald. He comes with COA and original box and is in perfect mint condition.
I will be taking offers for the next week. The lowest offer I would accept is $500.
If you are willing to pay $800, you can “buy it now” and skip the offers.
PM or comment here if you’re interested.
Thanks.
First dragon I ever drew. (I was about six.)
Here’s one from about ten.
And from some point in middle school. (This one is based on the Jane Yolen pit dragons.)
Here’s one I did in high school. I used a dinosaur for a refernece on this one, to try and be more realistic.
And this one is from my first year of college. I’m only marginally better than that now.
http://bladespark.topcities.com/art/chariz.jpg and http://bladespark.topcities.com/art/udhug.jpg are examples of fairly current dragons, (or dragon-ish things, does Charizard count as a dragon?) because I don’t think I’ve ever posted my 2-D art here before.
More than half of my art over my life has been dragons, I think. The rest is mostly unicorns, furries, or my personal characters.
Also, I have another quad suit in the works, this one a black demon dog with scary white eyes. Did the eyes today.
I was commissioned to make this. Fur tends to make your figure vanish, and this girl wanted her suit to still be very feminine, so I added chest padding.
Boobies! (I am so mature.)
