Eeeek I had never heard of dry socket and I just looked up pictures x___x Mine are actually in fully and are totally straight, the only reason they are taking them out is because apparently there is a flap of gum over one that makes the tooth prone to infection and cavities. It’s kind of stupid. I had one of my front teeth extracted when I was in grade 5 and it hurt for a day or so, not that big a deal. I was originally going on my own but my dad decided to drive out to take me to the appointment, which is nice. It’d be lame to have to make milkshakes for myself 😛
tomorrow morning I’m getting my wisdom teeth out, I’m guessing I’ll be in too much pain to sleep and will be home all day so I can watch the store. As long as they don’t go in while I’m in my appointment, which I doubt because it’s 9am here or 6am in Corvallis, haha.
November 10, 2011 at 7:51 pm in reply to: Ebay seller, mild warning and am I overly critical? #862109I’m not a picky collector at all either, that’s why I said the seller probably just missed it. The paint rub especially I would never notice, so I do sympathize with the seller to that extent. I just think if it bothers you, you should contact the seller, because as a seller I would want to know if you were even slightly unhappy. I’m not saying ask for $40 back or anything, but maybe like $10. If it irks you but isn’t a big enough deal to ask for a partial refund, I would still let the seller know you had an issue so that they can be more careful in describing their items next time.
might be a bit early to offer, but I’m not going to be buying one and am online a lot so I can watch the store for someone. 🙂

I would tell the seller about them and mention you didn’t expect issues like that when it was described like new, and that perhaps you’d like a partial refund or something. Since they did pack it well they seem like they’re being honest, not trying to scam or intentionally hide the issue, and just didn’t see the chip.
Even so, that’s their fault for not being thorough, and they should be willing to give a partial refund. 🙂
Sucks that this happened to you, good idea to wait until tomorrow to contact them though. I’ve had a few cases where I contacted someone when I was emotional and it didn’t end well. Hopefully you guys can get it sorted out 🙂
November 10, 2011 at 5:10 am in reply to: ‘Fantasy’ 9/22/11 Grab Bag Young Unicorn batch discussion/picture thread #862077Is it just me, or do the new members or those that dont post much seem to get really lucky in random draws like grab bags and the monthly raffles?
Well you have to think, of all the people who enter a raffle, how many are active on the forum? Probably a small few. According to the counter thing there are 8000+ members right? And how many people post regularly, like 20? So it’s way more likely than not that a non-active user will win. I don’t know how many people enter the raffles, obviously not all 8000 every time, but there are people who lurk and people who have a forum account only to enter raffles (probably a bunch more now with deviantart).
Same with the grab bags. There were like 150 fantasy unicorns, and again, only 20 or so active forum members, fewer who buy unicorns. Again it’s much more likely than not that non-active users will get a given unicorn. I don’t exactly remember, but when Chessie posted the list of the names of the first batches, I didn’t recognize about a third of them off the directory.
I guess what I’m babbling about is that it’s not so much “luck” as just much higher probability. Especially now with facebook and deviantart, fans of windstone can stay up to date with things without using the forum.
What about doing the cat designs as a grab bag ish edition thing? Because to do like a fish or turtle on their back the same way each time would take forever and be a huge pain. If you did them as “grab bag” each could have a slightly different design but still be the same overall (black with design).
But Pam posts ebay cart pictures using photobucket. And melody already has photos on facebook and deviantart, etc. so I’m also not sure what the issue is with copyrights or whatever.
I think it’s much easier and more user friendly to use flickr rather than photobucket though 🙂
I know.
I think the old issue with photobucket was that they would allow anyone to print out your image. This, in a way, could be perceived as a license to give the entire world a right to your images. It may not be the case now, I haven’t checked terms of service on photobucket lately.
…And since I can’t remember my password anyway (and finally gave up trying to hack into my own account) it is moot. I could make a new account but I want to use the name “reptangle” and they won’t let me open a new account under that name since it is taken. By me. whine whine whineYou were missing quotation marks, that’s all. (Without the spaces)
Posting this way is hotlinking from facebook though, I think we talked about this on another thread but yeah. Better to use flickr, you guys already have a stream thingy on flickr right?
Would loooove to see pictures of your collections, especially the poads. Is that photo with them eating the pizza of your collection of poads?
Yes, the pizza poads are among them. I still don’t know how to post pics on this forum!
facebook? Close enough right? 😛

I’d love to see a photo of your collection! Also your non-windstones. If you have any other cool art pieces or collectables 🙂
Chessie posted this one facebook and I haven’t seen it here yet: http://www.gazettetimes.com/news/local/article_3f4e407e-082d-11e1-8581-001cc4c03286.html?mode=image
Blue ice griffins? :O
^^; I figured since you’re doing price revisions and such right now, the best way to recalibrate prices is to run auctions and see how much they’re averaging at. Not sure whether you want to use ebay though, the fees are so crazy there. I guess there are sites like furbid I think it’s called? Either way it’ll be cool to see how she does. Either way be sure to make a thread in the non-windstone fleamarket and let everyone know ^^
