Mine was delivered today. Can’t wait to get to it to open it! It’ll at least end the day better than it began.
I’ve seen the list of things they claim trademark on, and if they tried to enforce a lot of them they’d be laughed out of court (Eldar? I think Tolkein did that first. Marauder? Fanatic? Citadel? Epic? If they tried to generically enforce some of these it’d be pretty ludicrous, c’mon…). It would be like JK Rowling trying to trademark ‘wizard’. You can still write books about wizards (and maybe even wizard schools, but I’d be careful how I organized that…).
It might, perhaps, have had merit if her ‘space marines’ had anything to do with anything like what theirs did (and in that case I might understand), but they share nothing, save a name that’s been used in science fiction literature since 1932. If they were *really* worried about it, what about Blizzard? Star Craft? Doom? Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t all those use the term ‘space marine’ too?
It feels like someone trying to set a precedent by starting with someone who hasn’t got the means to fight back. Because if they started right away with a big company they know they’d be fighting a protracted legal battle they probably wouldn’t win.
As it stands now, Spots the Space Marine is back up for sale as an e-book on Amazon and she has the EFF standing by to help her still should anything go further amiss, but I’m not impressed by the C&D for an ebook with a generic term that isn’t remotely related to their WH40K universe.
Well, I didn’t luck out with a ‘real’ Marauder’s Map like Medley, but I got a case for my iPhone featuring the cover!
I also got some awesome Darth Vader pajama pants from my aunt.
I have no pictures, so you’ll just have to go with imagination (or visit heruniverse.com and find them…). Also got some art books and a new scanner since I haven’t had one for a couple of years now. Not a bad haul, really!
Whew! It only took a dog’s age! I’m so pleased they finally got there and right before Christmas!

Tried your suggestion, number not found. Guess it’s hit customs and is hangin’. It’s taken a month or so for things to get to people before, so like I said, I’m not worried yet that the package is lost, just anxious for it to get there!
Well, I’m not worried yet because it did go out of the country. I just fret because there’s no tracking once it leaves here. 😛
I was really disappointed to miss them tonight, too 🙁 Been looking forward to this batch. Grats to the people who managed to snag one.

You sure sound like you had your hands full last night. I hope you were not badly injured by all those stampeding little hooves.
If I can say (and I hope no one throws anything at me for this) but anyone who managed to get one from this batch really shouldn’t even try for one from the next batch. Eveyone deserves a chance at ONE of thes pretties.
Yes. Thank you. Those who managed to get one this time, please do not order any from the next batch (which will be a ways off) until everyone has gotten a first one.
And, we suspect , once again, that the site was crashing from people running some kind of auto refresh programs. We are working on being able, in the future, to detect who is doing that so we can move their orders to the bottom of the pile, or just outright reject them.
I’m not complaining, since I didn’t need to spend the money right now anyway and it’s better that I wait for the second batch, but I just wanted to third this.
As a fellow collector everybody that got one this go-round would have my love and gratitude for not buying from the second batch so I can have a shot! Just my two cents. 😉
Yeah, I shall just happily wait for the next batch even though I’m a little sad I missed these. I have a car insurance bill that is shaking its finger at me for trying!
