Oh man I just finished painting up the details and I am so happy with this. Just needs a clear coat and the eyes and pad added now! I’ll get better photos that show off the iridescent scale details when it’s completed. Hm… needs a name too I suppose.
That’s a lovely job with the orange koi markings. I like the gradation along the kirin’s sides and the detailing on the flanks. Very nice. Congratulations!

My sympathies and condolences. I hope her passing was peaceful. It’s always difficult to lose a friend and family member. No matter if they’re furry, feathered or scaled.

I was actually surprised! The roadtrip did not turn out that bad (past experiences jaded my expectations and after a dramamine I was able to keep myself entertained peacefully). Looking at the houses was surprisingly interesting (my parents are interested in historic-type older homes). We even did some sight-seeing. My only regret was I didn’t bring a camera because I was told we’d only be looking at houses. Ah well.

And I know from personal experience how difficult it is to lose one so close to another’s passing. You have my sympathies.

Most of the time when you walk past someone on the street where I live you can at least get a pleasant ‘Hello’ followed by ‘How’s it going?’ then, ‘Good, you?’. Although admittedly I have heard profanity and unpleasantness spewed at me once when I didn’t turn left into busy traffic quick enough (don’t know WHAT the guy behind me’s problem was, I certainly wasn’t going to get broad sided just because he was impatient). I agree about this forum though. So many people to chat with that are really pleasant and fun to talk too.
Personal whine of the day: I have to go to Mississippi to look at houses for sale with my parents. Going to Mississippi is not the problem. It’s going on a road trip to look at houses for sale. Looking at houses I’m not going to buy is not my idea of a good time. Not to mention my dad is a firm believer in ‘Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts their cakehole’. Ugh…… Not to mention if I put on headphones and listen to my own music I get pestered ON PURPOSE until I take them off. Who does this to a 33 year old who doesn’t live at home anymore!? Not fun times! I could go on forever, but I’m going to cut myself off before this turns from a whine to a rant.

I save the ‘foo foos’ for reuse rather than compost them (one day I’ll have a place of my own and actually be *able* to compost, bleh!), but I have to make sure I keep them away from my cat! She’ll pry open boxes and claw through bags to be able to eat these. So far she hasn’t consumed even a whole one, but for some reason she’s obsessed with just getting one and licking it for a few minutes 🙂 She never has that reaction with the styrofoam peanuts. Anybody else’s pets go after these things?
Lol! My cats and my roommate’s cats do that. I keep the boxes in my closet (never have too many at a time so I can get away with this). Every time I open my closet door, the cats go in and pry open the folded closed boxes to steal peanuts! They chew on them and partially dissolve ’em. Constantly having to shoo them away from the boxes when my closet door is open!
