Alas, that is true. It reflects the adversarial relationship the two countries have had in history.

I wasn’t really that interested in getting one of the servals but now that i see how neat it looks with my African Wild Dog i’m in love 🙂
Melody airbrushed the markings so neatly on such a little pebble fox! I’m really impressed and super happy. Definitely keeping these two 😀

Maybe it’s a Leopardus tigrinus (Southern Oncilla) or a Ganetta tigrina (large-spotted ganet)? Though they don’t seem to have rosettes either. Sorry for the scientific names. The common names get mixed results in Google image search. ^_^; Anyways, here’s some pics at the least!

I think that one was a bengal cat, but I don’t remember… They don’t really have spots in their rosettes though, do they?
Actually, it looks like an Ocelot to me…. Also known as as the dwarf leopard – they have the Rosette spots on their backs and the striping:

I’m with Ela_Hara on the Ocelot vote! With the spotted rosettes and the white patches on the back of the ears, Ocelot looks good to me. 😀
Bengals come in SO many patterns! Rosettes, spots, marbling, stripes… And colors too! Charcoal, white/silver, fawn/brown, cream…. But I’m not sure I’ve ever seen rosettes with spots in them…. I’ve seen rosettes with a darker color inside them, but no spots. But who knows, maybe breeders are already working on that. You never know!

White is usually uninteresting to me unless it’s pearl white. I just really prefer Grab Bags instead of batches of almost identical critters.
I’m more looking forward to the pyo oriental and the mountain lion you’re working on. And the Flion in the background of the pyo oriental picture looks so cool!

I always enjoy seeing pics like that, with explanations of the steps the artist took. It helps me to learn more painting techniques 😉 Since I enjoy your work, I know I could learn more from you !

Update: Finished the Flap Cat. Have several in progress shots…though I flaked a little near the end. I plan on putting them into a small ‘how I paint’ file. Won’t be posting pictures of the Flap Cat or progress shots just yet. I’m working on a 15″x30″ canvas painting as a Christmas present to my mom and it’s taking awhile.

It’s good that you’re happy and I hope you’re family and friends encourage and support you in this. I think living off the grid is very interesting, I think I wouldn’t mind being partially off the grid. Kicking the electric bill out the door by switching to solar energy would be pretty cool. Perhaps I’ll try to save up for solar panels. That would be nice. House gets such blazing sunlight most of the day that I think the power company would end up having to pay me! lol
