I’m in the same boat with you on this one.
It’s a gorgeous piece, no doubt! I can appreciate the skill it takes to utilize that many colors and get them to blend so beautifully. However, I don’t think I could ever own something _this_ flambuoyent. I would imagine that were I to purchase him and put him on my desk, my eyes would develop a twitch before long lol.
Personally I think I’d have loved to have seen the maroon/green/blue/purples atop a black or dark forest green underside rather than the orange/yellow mixture. But that’s just me. 😉
🙂 I like the dark green idea best. And I agree, I absolutely admire the skill it takes to use a variety of colors successfully.
Judging from the bidding though, this guy is quite popular. Perhaps this color scheme will sing better for us on another sculpt? Sometimes that happens.

Winter full pool is 480 feet. We have had do much rain the past week that we are almost (within 1.5 feet) at summer full pool. Needless to say, I am tired of rain.
Wow, I FEEL you. It’s been raining so much…too much! It is December and I should not be seeing slugs and snails on my patio. It should be cold and dry dang it! Though I will say that my power bills are making me happy right now. 😉

Sometimes you just have to look around in the smaller specialty toy stores to find Papo brand. I have luck in stores that sell innovative or educational toys. Downtown Greenville, SC has a toy store that sells Papo. And there is a toy store in Augusta, Ga that also sells Papo.

First, to everyone who bids on this guy…good luck! 🙂 I’m not sure how I feel about this scheme. It’s VERY eye catching. But I think the blue here is throwing me off. The rust red coloring goes really well with the maroon, purple/violet and green. It’s quite inspiring (nice color combos make me want to pick up my paint brush)! 😀

Even a nice day, the wind blows dust into the clear coat. I almost cried after a couple of things were ruined, so I opt for control now. I know a lot of people have very good results with sprays, I just don’t.
😀 Same here! Georgia’s weather is not conducive to sprays most of the time. And I HATE waiting for perfect weather. So the control I get with brush on clear coats is a blessing.

Watch out for gnats and other bugs! I was spray painting a mailbox and gnats kept committing suicide by landing on the wet paint and sticking. Ugh!
