I still need a peacock riser, but not for that much! 😯 I’d rather save it to add to the pot for the really-hoped-for old green SK.
Oh well, I was planning on direct ordering a riser when I could anyhow. 🙄I think that guy suitably represents all of us when it comese to Windstones! 😀
Congrats on the ki-rin, Zorse! My baby is lonely also lol.
Congratulations, Whippet! It’s great to see one going where it was so wanted and will be properly appreciated.
So, am I misunderstanding things or is there a list started with the SKs that will be released?
I saw/bought my 1st Windstones when I was 18. It was in ’86.
I see there aren’t any over 60’s yet. My mother enjoys my dragons, and has started collecting (or having me get for her lol) some. She’s 65.
(having a parent like them is wonderful! I can get them for her for gifts, and I’ll get them back when she passes- guilt-free purchasing! and no, we get along and I hope she’s here for decades more)I love the idea of crouching, playing or snuggling together fledges! And a loving pair of dragons, they can nest around one another but actually be separate pieces, so that they get to sell 2 pieces instead of 1 (ouch for us, but more $ for them).
The dealer who mentioned smaller dragons- a dealer I spoke with who no longer carries them said they’d be more interested in doing so again if they came out with smaller dragons instead of the larger ones.
Sheesh! What is he choking on? His throat is HUGE! Did he swallow a wildebeast whole?
I’d go for the 2nd job. Some of my pieces I’ve had for so many years, and they have such memories attached. Even the ‘lesser’ of them have at least a few warm fuzzies. And has been pointed out before, many of mine are retired colors and/or molds- I’d never be able to afford to replace them. I can think of a hugely expensive piece I’d like, but to sell what I have to get it…nope!
That said, I’d definately replace my emerald pieces with the same molds in old green, or maybe even empea, if/as they were available. I’d only sell the one I have when I had its replacement lined up, though. You can see my hatchling here; it was purchased new in ’86, and is washed-out looking like that. I think it was just the way they were painted back then.
I stopped by a place- Yesterdays and Todays Inc. Antiques and Collectibles- in downtown Sanford FL. They had a few pieces. I bought a peacock hatching empress to try to eBay and make a few bucks, and talked to the proprietors. They said they’d been located up in Daytona Beach before, and carried the line then. They’ve since relocated here and do not plan on carrying it anymore, as they feel the recent price increase puts them out of their budget. 😕 (they had 2 peacock young dragons for about $55, a mama emerald for $98, a small wizard don’t remember the color for $60ish, some card holders, and a hatching gargoyle egg for $24 if anyone is interested).
Notions and Potions in the Seminole Towne Center Mall in Sanford FL DOES have them now, though they only carry a few and do special orders.
I stopped at the Rennigers Flea Market in Mount Dora FL today, and spoke to a vendor there about them. She is VERY interested in carrying them, but says she approached the company a few years ago and was rebuffed, as there was apparently another vendor nearby (I have not found any, nor are there any very close on the Dealers Page). She would still very much like to carry the line, and was asking me if I knew as a collector or could find out if she’d be able to carry the line now. Her store’s name is The Magickal Muse, and it was an open pleasant store, with nicer pieces like Amy Brown fairies.
I just got back from a trip to Mexico, and saw this guy for sale at a flea market next to the docks in Cabo San Lucas. It was the only Windstone knockoff I saw, but is a very blatant one. Can they do anything about stuff being sold and/or produced in Mexico?
Me too lol… been out of town for a few weeks, and missed the poads! So you’d email Susie directly to find out if any are still available? (not even sure I have the money atm, but hmmm, still want a muse more though).
Touch of Class in Altamonte Springs FL has closed, so they can be removed.

OMG how could I have forgotten that one yesterday? I remember sitting and drooling over him for hours. Oh yes, he’s definately a ‘dream dragon’.
My mistake; the blue dragon I remembered was ‘Moonstone’ by Jennifer Miller, not one of Melody’s. (maybe my subconscious was trying to remind me of Melody’s green one?)
I’m with Mimitrek. I prefer the more muted, ‘natural’ looking colors. Sure everyone knows the old green is my favorite by now! (and I do like the brown, but green’s it for me.)
My dream dragon of what’s out now would be an old green SK *drool*. Or to have all the molds (including curlies) that never were in old green have a limited run in that color; I’d replace ALL my emeralds with it! (maybe even my empea OW, not too sure on him)
And maybe that big PYO in Melody’s gallery that’s blue! *is gorgeous* *but would be even more so in old green lol*
And maybe another dragon or 2 as new molds that have horns like the original family, not gold ones?
Yes, my fiance doesn’t mind (is rather clueless about my dragons anyhow, to tell the truth 😉 ) and I’d really rather use the money to get soemthing I don’t already have. No interest here, so let’s see how eBay does!
