Sorry about your broken riser, I’ve been having a run lately and it bites, doesn’t it? 🙁
Did you get one of the risers on the websites Zelda found? I really can’t afford it, but I’ve been looking for awhile for one, and hadn’t found any… you spoke up first and have first dibs, though.WOW!!!! 😯 😯 😀
I agree with twindragonsmom- what flaws? He looks STUNNING! I remember what he looked like when I found him, and it’s just unbelievable how wonderful you’ve made him look! My fiance (who was forced to hide the pieces originally) says to tell you how amazing your work is also. He apologizes for regluing the head on the empress and says to tell you my mother twisted his arm, and prays there won’t be a next time, at least with my pieces. (he’s making me an enclosed display for when we move, and in the meantime I’ve boxed them all up).I apologise for not responding earlier as I’ve not been able to be online much.
Guess karma’s what bites you in the butt sometimes- I was away earlier last week, and came back to my mom’s sun dragon having been badly shattered by the cats now. I saved the pieces, but told her it would be quite awhile before I could afford to get him fixed for her. All the years I’ve had Windstones and never a chip… 😯 but then, she’s been accumulating cats the past couple years, and no one will take an adult one, so too many cats is part of the problem.

I have an old green. I don’t plan on adding more, though I do think he’s just the peachiest!
(I’ve considered getting a BG one for my fiance, though. He’s really started paying attention to my dragons, and I got him his 1st Windstone- a PYO griffin to paint up- for Christmas. He was admiring the BGs a a local dealer, so… 😛 Let’s see how money goes now that my hours are slashed)For coils, I have the male and mama in emerald. I’ll let them go if on some miracle old green versions get made, but otherwise they’re here to stay. (yep know that’s not going to happen, but it sure would be supercalifragilisticakesmealidocious if old green got the same LE treatment as brown)
😯 😯 to a flatlander living well below the snowbelt. I never saw a mountain (or even biggish hill) or snow till I was 15; they still look unreal to me. How absolutely gorgeous, and thanks so much for sharing!
I received a painting on heavy stock paper in a PVC tube once, so unless the post office has grown even more anal, you should be able to use one to ship 2D artwork.
I saw your memorial 🙁 . Do you think you’ll try to remake the 1st dragonsnail? He was my favorite.
I noticed that there was some (welcome) variation in teh paint jobs on the curls. Some (like Lamortefille’s) look, from the pics, to be done in more the newer version of old green, while some, like mine, are more like the older yellowy version (yay I prefer the older!). So I was wondering- does the same variation exist in the fledges? My fledge is definately the newer version of the color, with none of the yellowy and brown shading. I saw a pic with Ski’s in the background, and it looked to have more shading. Hers was repaired, though, so it could be the photo or the repair job?

Oops- guess the computer ate my post! I know i didn’t edit my original, but it’s buried anyhow. The other one (and only thing on my wish list at the moment) is a newer version of peacock rising spectral. I finally decided to get the spectrals last year when the riser was still available and everywhere, so I got the sitter. Figures- now there’s lots of sitters around, and durned few risers lol!
I’m turning (as much as possible) this thread over to Kyrin. She has a special project planned with the recalcitrant sun dragon. Start on page 4 when she’s ready to show it off!
One of my mother’s cats (finaces on all ends- hers, mine and his- force sharing incomes, so yep I’m at home right now) climbed up onto the 7 foot tall bookcase I had my dragons on, and knocked off my hatching emperor and empress. She tried to hide it, knowing I’d go homicidal, and had my fiance glue the not-too-horribly damaged empress back together, but the emperor was a lost cause. When I noticed him missing and my fiance showed me where he was hidden, I was ill. It’s not like I’d be able to replace him! And after having had Windstones for almost 22 years now without so much as a chip, this is the 2nd time in 6 weeks that I have had one destroyed. (the 1st was my young dragon my daughter knocked off with a ball, but I was able to replace him- and she had the courtesy to be upset about what she did) Needless to say, all my Windstones are now safely packed away in the garage until I can get out of here, and the very talented Kyrin has generously agreed to take on the repairs. I’ll post the ‘before’ pics, and let Kyrin have the stage now.

At least my fiance was able to save a good bit of the lost parts (he was called in to do the cleanup)
The empress had her head cleany broken off; he glued it on, and this is the worst of the resulting seam.
This is the worst remaining damage on her. Weird how this impression was left in her egg.I liked the twilight better also, Travistie. I would have bid on that one if I could have- and didn’t have something more important to save for. I think i *might* have liked it even better than the green golds. What did it end up going for?
Whew *swipes forehead* on enough for the OWs, but there isn’t a hurry… the longer it takes the more I can save and I will KILL for one of them lol.
