Yes, I’m thinking about it. (Though I’m pretty sure she’s a February Lap, not New Year’s! …I never thought about it, but pink=valentine?) Most of my critters are probably going into storage while I try to find a job/internship, and I’d hate for such a pretty, unique critter to suffer that fate if there’s someone out there who would genuinely love and display her with pride instead.
Much as I love my “Heap O’ Laps” and would like to keep her (Yes, I have “dragon instincts” — once it’s mine, it’s MINE!! and I hate the thought of “losing” it), after all I went through getting her (heh!), there are probably people who would love her more than me.
Since she’s pink, I immediately thought of Ski, but can I gather that your post means you’re interested, too? 🙂
EDITED TO ADD: Whoops, we were both wrong! She’s the December 2008 raffle prize! *sheepish*

Thank you! That clears up what I was worried about, because I wouldn’t want someone to lose their chance at all future raffles just because they agreed to give a free piece a good home!

Aww, thank you for the vote of confidence! 🙂 I hope we always live up to it! That’s one of the most awesome things about this forum — the way pretty much everyone seems to be an honorable sort. The few exceptions really are exceptions, not commonplace occurrences!

I am trying to find/remember what you/the staff said about raffle prizes. I’m pretty sure I recall you/they/us concluding that, since you can’t enter another raffle after winning a prize, you also can’t enter again if you sell the piece (since it was free!), but that someone could give away their prize and be eligible again for future raffles…Am I remembering this right?
Also, what about the person who receives a given piece? On the one hand, they have a raffle prize, so maybe they’re now ineligible? On the other hand, they still haven’t *won* a piece, so maybe they can still enter?

I recently got Firefox, and lately I’m wishing I hadn’t.
It refuses to clear my private data (my parents are visiting, and I really don’t want to explain that the “Guide to Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” popping up in my address bar is a humorous D&D guide…
I’ve tried going into the “Tools –> Clear Private Data” and checking all the boxes, and nothing happens — I STILL see the GtoUCK and all the rest. I’ve tried backclicking on “History”, on the actual bar itself, and on the toolbar. Nothing works to clear it. My entire month-long browsing history is on view for parents and the friend who came to help me move.
I then tried switching back to IE out of sheer exasperation, but Firefox won’t let me open it! Clicking on IE results in a Firefox window opening.
I’m about ready to throw this entire browser out the window and send a nasty vituperative letter to Mozilla to boot.

I think that, of those sculpts I still don’t have, “most coveted” is tied between the Ocean Blue OW and the White Rising Spectral. (Think of the former as “most coveted color” and the latter as “most coveted item missing from my collection”.)

Does anyone have a Lap Dragon box or a Male Griffin box? I’m going to be moving soon, and I want to be sure that my preciouses are all wrapped up snugly! (I had the box for the griff here, but I sent it off to someone who needed one. Here’s hoping what goes around comes around!) 🙂

Has anyone gotten their Am. Oriental yet? I really love the colors from what I can tell via a computer monitor, but what I’d really appreciate is a picture of them with a Peacock oriental, if anyone out there can do such a thing. I *think* they’d look stunning together… 🙂
(I was thinking the regular/bright Peacock, but next to a dark Peacock would be neat, too!)

On the other hand, it will be a long time till I can afford one, so I guess I’m hoping for Amethyst ones to come first (along with lots of other things that won’t tempt me)! 🙂

That’s a cute idea! Me, I’ve always wanted to build a “color bar” of lap dragons — red-orange-yellow-green-blue-purple — so I guess you could display them during Pride Week as a festive grouping? ::laughs:: The line is quite a few colors short of that goal, however, so if it ever gets done I’ll probably be pretty old by then!
The other “set” that I really am working on is a set of four Elemental Lap Dragons: I have Gold and Silver, and plan to use Rainbow for Titanium, so if only Melody would release a Copper dragon… ::eager:: The gold and silver laps I own have cute collars with their elemental symbol/info from the periodic table on them, and I’ve got the collars all ready for the remaining two… I just need money and a copper color! 🙂
I’m not sure Peacock would work for the patriotic set, though; it seems equally purple and green, to me. You might have to wait till some more intensely blue dragons come along. (I’ve got a standing squeak for Ocean Blue as a production color…)

I go there periodically and edit my entry, and today I noticed that a lot of people still have squeaks up for things that have been produced, such as Pink lap dragons and Black Gold OWs, so I started wondering if anyone besides me actually maintains their post there.
If I’m the only one who clears out old stuff and updates, does Melody bother to re-read it periodically? If no one ever changes their squeaks, I wouldn’t blame her for not checking that thread anymore. (Maybe I should ask her about it… Maybe if lots of people promise to update before I ask, it would give her a reason to start going there again if she’s stopped?)
It just doesn’t seem nice to make her wade through outdated lists and try to weed out the “already-done”s when she’s already going out of her way to make a place where we can squeak for stuff!

Oh, wow, this is a HARD decision! For one thing, I just got a female griffin in Black Sunset TODAY, after nearly a year of waiting, and I just want to stare and drool and sing to her — I can’t believe how beautiful she is in person!
Then there’s my White Old Warrior — for once I managed to get a piece shortly before it “expired”, and I didn’t even know they weren’t going to make more, so it was pure luck. He “almost-completes” my White collection (I don’t have any White spectrals, but he completes the “regular dragon” part of it), and is now irreplaceable as well as incredibly beautiful since they aren’t making any more.
Then there’s my Emerald OW — I found her in the shop after the color was retired, for $179, and took her on the spot. I had never cared about the Emeralds before (I’m a White collector at heart), but I had never seen one up close; this was love at first sight. Actually, come to think of it, I’ve done that once before in that shop — my Peaock Oriental was a total impulse buy, made when I went in to order a White dragon. I couldn’t resist his amazing colors, so he went home with me as “consolation prize” while I waited on that White dragon… though I almost came to regret him later when the line went retired and I only had him! Took me forever to hunt down the other two.
But if I had to pick a “save from burning building” favorite, it’s going to be my prototype BVP Warrior. Everything else, however valuable, can be replaced with insurance money and time; but this guy is obviously not like that. I knew the minute I saw the first one that I had to have one, no matter that I had never, ever spent that much money on a thing ever before; and then I lost the bid for #2 and #10, which are two of my favorite numbers, and I was crushed — I was sure that I would never win one after that because the price would go higher as they went toward the last (#15).
And then I won #13, another number I am very attached to, for what I have to admit was a very reasonable price, all things considered. (Still more than I’d ever paid for something in my life, though!) When he arrived, I found he was extra special — Melody had written, “This one is GOOD luck!” in a word bubble above the griffin logo on his underside, along with the signature and number! So he is my special, lucky dragon; one of only a few of my Windstones to bear names. His is “Valkyrior,” because his colors look like the aurora borealis, and he also has special dragon jewelry to wear on the shelf so that the others can be envious of his high status. Words can’t describe how beautiful he is and how attached to him I am!

Uh, WOW, I now know *exactly* what I’m going to make my next Windstone purchase: a Red Fire lap dragon to put in the window! I have been wanting a coppery colored Lap for a long time, and that’s almost perfect! 🙂
