That’s right — its the people’s fault! π
Seriously though…that has gotten to be a problem in one park in a city near me. People had fed the squirrels so much that they started getting aggressive, and they would jump on people and even into baby carriages to get food. People should always feed squirrels at a distance so they don’t develop habits like that…
Definately. People always think it’s funny to have a picnic on the quad and hand-feed the little beggers, but they freak out if one gets overzealous and nips them while taking the food. Really though I think my little mugger just ran into my leg by accident and the crackers were an unexpected perk π
…
At least I hope so π― If the squirrels really started something we’d have no hope — they outnumber students at least seven to one!
Just looked at the pictures — poor Ski! Yeah, I’d much rather be jumped by a squirrel than a monkey π
If I can get the pic off my phone I’ll post it. He (the fuzzy bandit) looked pleased as he scampered back into the bushes with some of my crackers. This is what happens when people throw them food on the quad, they get used to fresh pickin’s and the trash cans aren’t good enough any more!
So I was assaulted on campus today…
While I was walking behind the science building minding my own business a squirrel shot out of the shrubbery and banked off my leg. It scared the living crud out of me, and I screamed like a little girl before dropping my lunch (a pack of flavored crackers) and running off down the sidewalk. I looked back though to see what had hit me (when I got what I deemed was far enough from the threat, of course) and there was the squirrel sitting in the middle of the walk calmly picking over the crackers. I think the continued cold is making them a little bonkers.
Of course like twenty people saw me and laughed at the loser Freshman… Just another pretty average day at BS University. I did however get a picture of the little mugger with my cell phone.
Totally random, I know, but I thought some of you squirrel-lovers might like to hear about this one. π

*innocently* But who would not want to see dragons all over their house?
π No one objects to my Windstone-ing. Mom thinks I’m a little odd, but she’s the first to come in and look at them when they come out of the box. (She named my Poad “Timothy Butters” before I could stop her…) I think she’s finally taken my advice and stopped asking what I paid for them and just takes them at face value.
*raises hand* Me!
Sorry about your cold birthday π And your plants. I definately hear you on the plants.
If my lilacs don’t bloom this year I’ll be very sad, since last year it was so hot that they scorched, and this year they’ve frozen… I hate Indiana weather. Heck, even the dandelions are kicking. I miss my dandelions…
A PYO pufferfish… Now that just made my day. 8) If I gave my mother a handpainted fish of any kind I’d gather enough brownie points to last the rest of my life.
So yay fishes! π
The white scratcher is gorgeous. And the bright blue eye on the little rock dragon is very eye-catching. They’re all lovely! π
Sounds like everyone has very interesting interests! π
I collect:
Windstones π (all kinds, mostly dragons so far though)
books — mostly fantasy, some leather-bound Greatest Books Ever Written, kids’ books that I’ve grown attached to
manga — over 400 volumes
kids’ movies and cartoons — Max & Ruby and The Littl’ Bits being prominent favorites, Serendipity the Pink Dragon and My Neighbor Totoro being others
My Little Pony — G3 only, bright colored ones that catch my eye, and one fuzzy one with a pink snowflake mark I got when I was four
shampoo/body wash from the Temptations label in Bath and Body Works (favorite = strawberry daqueri & tropical colada)
*nods seriously* Oh, yes, the guns and acsessories are necessary for maximum costume authenticity! Someday I’d like to go as Sango, in her casual wear. I could carry my Kirara plush fine, but the hiraikotsu would be a giant pain to lug around all day π
If your man doesn’t like the glomping, he should cover his peepers. Doesn’t he know that glomping is a crucial part of the anime fan’s greeting/meeting/solidarity ritual? π
Plus it’s fun. π
Wolf’s Rain = luv!
Sounds like a ball! What are your costumes of, siberakh, if you don’t mind me asking?
Gorgeous! I love rainbows… π
*sigh* Sooo envious! Enjoy your lovely kitty, drag0n! π
Sw33t 8) Now that’s a really hard question… dragons, or con… dragons, or con…
Hope you guys have fun! Katsu was like the highlight of my year so far… I had be pulled bodily from the fan-fiction panel, spent four consecutive hours in artist’s alley, almost choked to death on some pocky at the AMV showing, got tricked into watching a yaoi marathon, and was glomped by a guy dressed as Legend of Zelda’s Link for helping him carry his props out of a fire lane in the lobby.
Anything in particular you’re looking forward to? Cool guests and whatnot? π
Hey drag0n, you’re going to a con? With anime? Awesome! π
Which one, if it’s not too nosey? I’ve only been to one before, Katsucon in D.C. (and it was a pain to get there, let me tell you, in a rented van full of hyper college idiots π ) but it was a blast!
My friends all called me insane when I bought one keychain and some Japanese snacks in the dealers’ room and all the rest of my souvenir purchases were from artists’ alley, but whatever. Support the artists, man!
Hope you have a great time!
Very nice! “Faceless wonder” made me laugh! The curlies are cute too.
