I got mine in the mail today!!! I have NO idea what animal its supposed to be, but it is extremely plain in markings 🙁 Though the name has be rolling with laughter, his name is Giblet! Ah someone told me black footed ferret makes sense now! 🙂
Love this guy. I see he hasn’t got those lime green eyes like his baby version has, hehehe.
Enjoy these moments of “PS must have a loose screw”. As of August, my days will be drastically reduced. There are plenty of other fine production painters ready to take over. Maybe one of them will better suit y’all’s sensibilities.
Nooo 🙁 this is sad news to hear.
I wish I had snagged a few more of your pieces. The Male Kirin you did last year in Spring Bronze is my favourite Kirin, I’m so glad to win him. Thanks for your fantastic work.Major squeak for any natural Production colours for the Baby and Young Unicorns 🙂 The Pegasus family had their turn- it would be cool to see some bays and palaminos 😀
I think people have said clear enough why aftermarket prices are higher than store prices for very valid reasons.
If windstone want those prices they could have put them on eBay too. Most GB items that have gone straight to eBay by windstone have sold for more than the “second-hand” grab bags so I don’t see why people should be complaining about windstone not getting the money. The big reason they aren’t is because these pieces are being sold as blind-bags- not eBay items.I also just want to make a point that the aftermarket prices also work FOR windstone- even if they don’t get the money. How many people honestly would have gambled $360 on this batch if they knew they couldn’t get their money back on eBay if they dislike the piece they receive? There’s no way I would have.
Keep in mind people selling grabbags on eBay don’t get all that money anyway- shipping costs and taxes make grab bags A LOT more than $360. Even if we can re-sell on ebay for $400 we still may be short of money. Both exactly the same for me 😉
Waiting for a class photo soon. Fingers crossed there’s plenty of Safari unicorns to hope for.
I’m not sure why its the customers who should have to pay extra $$$ because of Windstones horn shortage issue.
I bought one but i’m not confident about my decision, especially as this is a mixed batch- the chances of getting a unicorn I’d like are very slim.
Fingers crossed I can get my money back via resell if it turns out to be a candycorn. The AU dollar has gone down lately (after being equal to the US for so long) add $30 shipping costs- this cost me $440AUD all up >.> There’s no way I can spend even more money than that by trading.Bottomline; this isnt a purchase that makes me happy- just super worried 🙁
Hi, I’m pretty new to the forums. I started receiving windstones as birthday gifts from my parents when I was in high school, but only started aggressively collecting this year.
This is my only special piece so far. Siberian Husky #1 gothic unicorn
Congrats! I was tempted to bid, he is super beautiful 😀
Ooo, thanks for the screencaptures everyone.
I’ve made a collage of a few of my top picks from them. It was hard though- I think I love all of the Safari designs, I haven’t seen one I wouldn’t keep yet, haha.
The Husky and the red stripy ones particularly have my attention 😛
If it causes Windstone no trouble selling separate batches thats my vote.
Considering the higher price these may be I couldn’t risk that much money on a style I dont want at all.
If this was purely a Fantasy batch I wouldn’t be buying, but as for the Safari’s- Id be happy risking the money on that batch only as I like all the natural designs 🙂Trading is very expensive fo me, these pieces are larger than baby unicorns so it would be more expensive than usual lol.
I think Melody mentioned she counts the rainbow tigers and colourful loosas (and the like) as Fantasy. I believe the safari ones are full-on safari, no unnatural colours.
I guess if the batches are split we will be able to see which group certain unicorn styles have been placed in by the store photo 😉Congrats!!
That’s why I think it’s only as a preference 😉 not a guarantee. You can never guarantee you get what you like with grab bags regardless lol. It just gives people only wanting either a safari or a fantasy young a little more hope if there will only be one batch.
I’d say one batch would cause less problems overall.
I’m curious though- would it be possible for a drop down selection to be added to the page? Similar to selecting eye colours on PYOs, could u select a preference (and only a preference) on whether you’d prefer a safari or a fantasy one? Of course it depends on availablity whether or not you get your preference though.Just an idea? I don’t know if that would really work though lol.
Edit: Sorry, Kimk! I didn’t realise you already mentioned this idea. Apologies 😉
Congrats!!
